I consider this as my birth movie. I was born the year this movie first showed in movie theaters. It is a favorite of mine and I have a VHS Cassette of it.
a Real Good Movie Shows it was 100 years ago. My dad told me how plowed with a walk behind plow and it had to be straight your you was takin to woodshed my dad was about same age that boy is in movie.Movie made 1946 kids will enjoy it too
So far from what Rawlings envisioned for the story. Penny was a runt, half starved, a heroic failure. MGM turned him into Atticus Finch (also played by Gregory Peck).
Uh I'm sick of movies where kids love wild pets then go scream and yell at it to chase it away (which by the way does NOT happen in the book)
Great book though! Looking forward to the movie

My father worked on this movie when they were on location in Florida. He was one of the set designers.
