This song was recorded by the group Avantasia as part of their concept album "The Metal Opera" which spans two disks. The entire album tells a story about a man trying to save his long-lost sister from the church before she is executed as a witch. This song in particular is sung by the man and the chorus represents a choir of voices in his head.

lol.. Jon Schaffer can get as many choirs as he wants to sing bullshit on his albums... there is only one lead vocalist in iced earth. There are over 10 vocalists on avantasia 1 and 2 singing actual character dialog parts in a story.. that IS opera! AND there is more double kick and shred on avantasia 1&2 than iron maiden has ever dreamed of..

really tho, you should listen to the entire metal opera part 1&2 before judging :-) (tho, not to say that maiden isn't a huge influence obviously lol)
