In supporting bigger government you also must admit that other people know how to spend your hard earned money better than you. And then you have to ask yourself, have they been? Just know that government is an institution which can never create a net increase in jobs by the way and so can never create true wealth. They can only take water from the deep end and dump it in the shallow end, as the analogy goes, or just tax us to death trying to fix the problems they create.
