  • Make me wanna go back and make a vid of my old neighbor hood! Carpenter & webster rd area..

  • it looks deserted for the most part.

  • thanks for your videos... I live in n. AL now... great to see vids. of my homeland!

  • U TOTALLY JUST WALKED MY WHOLE STOMPING GROUND I ATTENTED THOSE SCHOOLS 2 BUT I CANT BE PROUD OF FLINT, I FEEL IT ROBBED ME OF GR8 OPPORTUNITIES REPRESENTING ORLANDO NAA

  • FUCKING COON

  • You're way more informative than Michael Moore. Thanks for sharing.

  • Looking forward to moving to flint later this year

  • That video is really cool. I don't see why people are so negative about Flint. Its not even that bad. If people would just look at the positive side, they would all see that its really cool.

  • @gangstajoe4321 To be honest you're wrong and right at the same time. Flint is now the #1 most dangerous city in the US, so people need to realize the negative. It's not a very good "family" city. But on the other hand it has a lot of really cool history. But now all that history is being burned to the ground and ruined by stupid teenagers. That's kind of contradicting considering I'm a teenage in Flint, MI. In fact, I'll be attended the Mott Middle High School on the MCC campus (1:25) next year

  • propz on this video cuz it takes me back. ive walked those same streets many many times

  • do you know mt morris mi right above you

  • My husband Marty graduated from Mt. Morris High School / Elizabeth Ann Johnson in 1975. He said "thanks" for the video tour!

  • I remember Mr Teague from the Flint Academy.

Was the Longway Planetarium still there? I lived on the East Side, close to the Cultural Center (a place of fond memories). Flint was such a hopeful place to live when I was growing up!

  • @Maytons Oh yeah, the Black math teacher. He was awesome. A lot of people didn't like him, because he was so strict. lol

Yes, the Planterium is still here.

  • @DEMCAD What years did you grow up in Flint? Nice video by the way.

  • Comment removed

  • I had Mr. Chapman when i was at Central 1986-87..and 'the rich side of town' we called Kiketown didnt know what it really meant back then (at least I didn't)

  • I remember Mr Teague from the Flint Academy.

    =Dave

  • spent some of my childhood in flint in the 1970's, loved every minute, thanks for the vid reg brought back memories.

  • Bristol Road. Yeah lol Moulton dr. Im moving back to Flint, Michigan. I stay loyal and never forget where i come from. But as people we gotta change.

"You gotta make a change. Its time for us as a people to start making some changes, lets change the way we eat, lets change the way we live, and lets change the way we treat each other. You see the old way wasn't working so its on US, to do what we gotta do to survive"- Tupac Shakur.

  • Thank you for the guided tour, I enjoyed it.

  • I lived in Flint, MI. Flint, MI is the armpit of America!

  • @lakerace Armpit of flint? what does that mean?

  • Nice walking tour of Flint.

  • Dude I heard they turned Holmes Middle School into an all girl school...Is that true?

  • @LucidPro I don't know.

  • Dude I heard they turned Holmes Middle School into an all girl school...Is that true?

  • cool video! I grew up on copeman blvd...over by Ballenger and Welch Blvd...I went to grade school at St. Pius X..and my family moved to Flushing where I graduated in 1997...I have friends that graduated from Central Michigan in 97...cool stuff!! I remember the Planetarium...went to plenty of laser shows...

  • I loved seeing Central High School, I was apart of the last graduating class. Despite everything that happened at that school, I still miss it.

  • DEMCAD: Thanks for proving that life is what you make of it - especially in Flint. I have lived in and around Flint for most of my 55 years and have many fond memories of the heyday from the late 50's to early 60's. You spoke of GMI in the early 90's - do you remember a young man by the name of Jeff Baldwin? A good friend of mine went there around '91 for an EE degree. Again - thanks for your posting and showing the positive side of Flint.

  • Hey DEMCAD looks like u had some good times in flint. Looks like an amazing city. Im about to join the kettering U this fall. Im excited about moving to flint , but at the same time a lil scared cuz of the way the media has portrayed flint with all the crime, etc. What is your insight of the kettering neighbourhood ??

  • its pure shit

  • @shrey95070 chevrolet ave is ok up to flushing rd, that's where most kids stay that go to kettering and just dont go north or east of there and you shoukd be all right.... if you go west it's flint twnship thats better or south west is the better side of flint but what ever you do dont go east of chevrolet really bad good luck i hope this helps...

  • This goes out to the person who said flint looks like a nice place, well I am born & raised here let me tell you all that u see in this clip is strictly the rich side as the guy stated in the begining of this clip. Trust this is no place to live the american dream.

  • While looking around your neighborhood on Google Earth Street Views, I saw that there is a dead cat in the street in front of your house. Seems like they would edit that out or something.

  • Thanks for the trip home.

  • It's good to see someone who sees Flint like I do. It's still one of my favorite places.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • A while back I saw a vid by george4title about Michigan. It was very interesting but I came away with the impression that your state was nothing but dilapidated buildings.

  • So I guess you don't live in Alaska anymore?

  • No.

  • Demcad what did you get your degree in

  • Criminal justice and sociology.

  • I spent years in Flint in the 90s getting my undergrad engineering degree at GMI (now Kettering U). Those were some of the best days of my life as a college kid. Sure Flint had and still does have shady places of town, just like any large metropolitan area. But all in all it was good for what it was. I would not want to raise a family there, but as a college kid it was fun and the program at GMI was and still is excellent.

  • Hey, great video! Thanks

  • Homesick is how this video makes me feel.

  • Looks like a nice place to live... a whole lot nicer than Richmond, VA!! Sure, we have some nice spots,...but they're just that--- spots. The "poorer" neighborhood there looks more like a middle-class neighborhood here. At least that is the way it has become,... Interesting to learn more about you personally- thanks! Your mother raised a good man.

  • sad what happens to your old neighbourhoods sometimes.. good job mang

  • Flint looks like a nice place.

  • nice lookin place

  • Birds a feather... Man my childhood is a mirror, but from CANADA. Show the park where the cool kids use to hang out, then, go find the gas station that they now work at pumping gas.

  • So you're the guy who borrowed my younger life.

  • quite interesting...thanks

  • not to be nosey... but what are the job prospects? You have a plan?

  • nice video , show us where the factories are ! where all the industry used to be

  • nice video.

  • Great vid Reg, was expecting all doom and gloom, changed my perception of Flint.

  • Thanks.

Gloom and doom would have been predictable and boring.

  • Reginald,

I really enjoyed this video. I found it to be very refreshing and uplifting good job. In the future, I hope you post other inspirational vids for us to enjoy!

  • Looks like a very nice town. It is not the impression that I had of Flint, how interesting.

  • Hey, DEMCAD! Where's all the drug dealers, the burned out buildings, the prostitutes, the muggers, the rapists, the abandoned projects? I thought you would be rousted by at least one cop on your journey or mugged by a several dopers.

Good video! Keep it up, dude!

  • I thought I would show the nicer side of Flint.

  • It IS nice. Some of those houses are (were) big bucks!!! It is a lot nicer than I thought it would be.

  • Hats off to your mom, I think she did a great job--you turned out ALRIGHT! ; )

  • Reggie, the neighborhood you grew up in is just the kind I love. Homey, treelined, quaint. In the "rich" neighborhoods, neighbors do not know one another. There are many other downfalls that come with it. Count your blessings. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Cool vid Reggie. Nice to see where you grew up. Flint looks pretty nice, at least the part you showed us. That's cool. I'd have thought it was pretty much a Hell hole until I saw that. Thanks for the corrective view!

  • where is everybody?

  • It's early in the morning.

  • man when you said Flint I was thinking getto but that was nice I grew up on the southside of Atlanta. You turned out ok, and your videos help people, your mother should be grateful. Your smart, young, and I have to belive you'll do great things.

  • Thanks, DemCad....good tour,...it's hard to go back to old places and memories.

  • I didn't hear any gunshots during the video, are you sure that this is Flint Michigan?

  • INTERVIEW YO MAMA!!

  • thanks for sharing Reg

  • Demcad, thanks for the tour of the old neighborhood. I always find it interesting to hear about where people came from.

  • Good tour. Thanks for posting it.

  • Nice job Brother It''s good to see more of the stable side of Flint. The rumors they are a runnin about the bad shit....

  • I'm glad you showed the beautiful side of Flint Michigan. Every time I hear about Flint, they always show the bad part. Thanks for showing the beautiful side of it.

  • those school buildings are quite beautiful. most of the schools built from the 60s through today are incredibly ugly and bland.

thanks for showing us a bit of flint, its good to see some of the city from a native without an agenda.

  • wait, that hat's got to go but good intro bro

  • Thanks for the video, It gives me an idea of what it looks like. I saw Detroit from the other side of the river, and it looks scary. I would not want to be an American right now, mind you, things will get back for us as well soon.

  • ghost town, where all the people

  • I think your mom did a fair job with you.

  • looks ok to me...

  • I enjoyed this video. Thanks bro

  • It is a quiet place.

  • Yo DEMCAD, Flint, Michigan is really quite a nice place,...why is it ppl. like inflationus only concentrate on the negative aspects of certain locales,....it would be more legit to show a general picture, good and bad,....actually Flint's MIGHTY FINE,...'specially compared to the boondocks of SE Utah where i grew up! =P Keep up the AWESOME VIBES my mon,....NICE VIBES at the beginning, take care Reg!

  • Because George is all overhype and showmanship. Not to mention he is a 2 bit scammer.

  • you are remarkable.

  • You look funny :D :D

  • I hope you are well and able to get your family in your line of thinking

  • Thanks for this Dem.. I sometimes wonder if you Youtube celebrities really know how interested your fans are to learn more about you (gives us an insight into this person who we enjoy listening to). Also, as man have stated, Flint doesn't look so bad. The only image many of us have is of old, burned out buildings.

  • Your old neighborhood looks quite nice! Even nicer than Ketchikan. Welcome home! Maybe I should move to Flint too!

  • Yeah drive around Flint and youll see how nice it is. LOL

  • Stay positive my Brother..... Nice work!!!

  • flint doesn't look so bad. You should see some of the wards in houston :(

  • Any snow in Flint yet. Thanks for the tour. Good luck.

  • Nein. No.

  • I'm glad to call you my friend. Keep up the awesomeness DEMCAD, not many people have that drive as you do. Many times, I see my friends drop out, as for me, I can't let that happen. Education is the only thing that I have, and my friends/ family.

  • Isnt how id imagine flint to be. Actually alot nicer than i thought it would be. Probably just how Alaska wasnt how you thought it would be.

  • Hey, I was in the same boat as you, just that I was born in 1991. My mom said the same thing to me too!

  • Reg, tell your Mom she did a great job raising you! And thanks for sharing a bit of your childhood. That was an interesting vid.

  • hats off to your mom she did a hell of a job with you!

  • Wow, I thought it would look a lot scarier.

  • Was it early morning?

  • Yes, it was.

  • Your a good man demcad, I'm sure your mother is proud

  • my dad said the same thing about jail..he said i better beg the cops not to let me out because my next stop would be the hospital

  • Same here..worst punishment was from my parents.

  • when i was a kid if you got in trouble in school your got in twice as much at home...i teach(until laid off) and if you had problems with a kid and threatened to call their parent the kid would call them on their cell and the parent would tell you that school dicipline is not their problem and they would support the kids behavior...the kids of today tell their parents what to do....

  • My wife is a teacher and I deal with the court system, so I also listen to principal's frustrations with kids and their idiot parents. I hear the same thing you said x3. Sorry to hear about being laid off...that sucks, and just goes to show what serious trouble this country is really in.

  • yeah i taught emotionally disturbed/at risk kids....ive worked with many in state custody...and i worked with the juvinile courts too..conbine that with special education law...behavior problems are "a manifestation of their disability" and you cant do anything to them for bad behavior because you are "punishing them for being disabled....

  • and the root of their "disability" is socioeconomic ... which are setup by the "have's" to retain their power base over the "have nots" ... a sick twisted world we live in ...

  • hi center:

'you can't do anything to them for bad...cause your'e punishing them for being disabled...' What does that mean, exactly?- the sound of it scares me.

  • Reginald, I've been a big supporter of the idea of having a second home somewhere else in the country... a fall back place, if you will. After seeing your video, I will most certainly think about buying a "back pocket" home in Flint someday. Maybe we'll be neighbors... have a few beers, now and think. Thanks for giving us a view of flint's slice of culture. It was a great testimony to real bricks and mortar towns.

  • another wonderful video Reg!

  • Five Stars My Friend!

  • That was great thanks sharing DEMCAD

  • It looks chilly. Is it colder than Alaska?

  • Thanks for sharing, its fun to take trips down memory lane.

Flint, seems to have a lot going for it.

  • Looks a bit like Belleville On.

  • Thanks so much for sharing,

Brother & Friend! All the Best.

  • Flint, Michigan doesn't look too bad at all compared to the scummier places here in the UK. Watch the new Michael Caine film "Harry Brown" if you want to see what a cess-pit the UK has degenerated into.

  • Hey Reg.. props to your mom, man. She did without so you and your sis could have a safe place to grow up. You're a good person so her efforts weren't in vain.

Flint looks much nicer than I pictured (of course, this part does at least).

Thanks for the vids and ignore the haters.

  • Reginald - you can make yourself a life in that town. seems like if you can just make some money happen, you will be fine. if the economy is bad there, don't open a business, you are better off coming up with something web based. based in flint, but you sell to the world.

  • I suppose you would know being that you clearly like small mammals up your arse. Are you really that lame and bored with your life as to spend your time commenting needless insults on random youtube channels?

Free those gerbils man, it's just wrong.

  • I began using the adult portion of my home town library on summer between 4th & 5th grades.

Even today I pay to use the state university library here.

My library card has been the ticket to many things in my life.

Not all cultural streams understand that.

  • Reggie:

I just have to comment on your "Mr T Black Irish" because it triggered me all the way back to the 70s & 60s to Godfrey Cambridge, who would introduce himself as "last of the Black Irish.

Tell you what: if you don't find a suitable job, consider working up a one-man show "Godfrey Cambridge," along the lines that Hal Holbrook did Mark Twain to popular acclaim.

Godfrey had a sharp intellect and really was a social commentator in his own right. You could credibly be his double.

  • Me thinks Reg could pack a mean punch IF he had to..

Looks like a nice area and could come back someday. I live across the pond (Lake Michigan) and although not as bad as Michigan we did make it to the top 10 worst off States

Again I quote: "There is so much good in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us that it hardly behooves any of us to talk about the rest of us"

    Great Video !!!

  • Thanks demcad

  • Wow, Reg! You sure have dispelled some preconceived notions for me! I figured Flint would be just another Hell-hole like Detroit, but it's actually a pretty nice town. Thanks for sharing it with us! =^[.]^=

  • Same here! I was very surprised. Hell, Flint makes my city look like a shit pot. :p

  • ya I expected a "Shit Pot" to haha It looks like poor/middle income rural..nice- the tour was appreciated Reg.

  • LOL Im going to have to make a Sequel to Demcads movie with this new footage.

  • Thanks so much for giving us a tour of Flint. Now that I've seen it, I feel much better about you moving back. I was concerned about your safety/survival before, but it looks like a very nice place. :)

  • I am pretty sure most of the doomers are gay but that doesn't mean they are wrong about the crashing economy.

  • How could anyone want to fight Reginald?

  • Thats the whole thing. Its guys like Reginald that seem to be victims of idiots. I can empathize with Reggie on this.

  • the city of flint should hire you to do promotion vids..you really showed some great things that changed the view i had of flint...they should NEVER let michael moore back in town...he really jaded my view of your town...

  • My Demcad Movie I created didn't exactly help Flint's image either. LOL

  • i thought that was a wwf comercial..haha

  • Michael Moore exploits Flint, but he does show a very real side of Flint.

  • the image moore paints of Flint is beruit in michigan...

  • The image that Demcad paints is a paradise. LOL Flint looks all pristine and clean and good at 5 in the morning.

  • VERY NICE !!!!

  • Well thanks for the tour; it was nice and better than Alaska but I was more interested in the slums. Flint has about a 110% unemployment rate so there must be some wicked scary ugly places. G4T got some armed drug pushers to escort him through the deep hood of Detroit in their four wheel drive whip so how about hooking up with some underworld types and pack up your camera and crawl into some abandoned crack houses like G4T.

  • I wish i lived in Flint. Such a beautiful city :)

  • how come michael moore didnt show any the museums and parks?

  • literally black(african) irish or vivian leigh black irish?

  • thanks for showing us around town!~

  • Great tour thx.

  • Flint looked good on this post but I believe the beauty of Alaska kind of spoiled us all.

    Thansk for sharing!

  • why did you get in so many fights?

  • The school had a lot of dangerous students.

  • How did you get out of poverty?

  • I'm still in in.

  • I know how you feel.

  • Reginald, thanks for showing us your hometown. I'd never see anything of Flint. I live in Holland, MI.

  • hey demcad, go blue!

  • demcad getting his freak on in flint mich .. a future making pornos dark walrus one tusker.. a lonely sex starved stud from the wilds of alaska .. comes down to flint mich. and gets his freak on .. like cream pie ...
  • Lol. Im still waiting for Reggie to share those alaskan student "stories" with us now that he is all free and legally clear of Alaskan jurisdiction. :P

  • demcad

    are you packing

    the shotgun...

  • Looks like a nice place and not how people have said about it.

I think it's a good thing you had fights in school. Even better that you didn't start them.

Having that experience even though terrifying at the time, helps when you're an adult.

  • Hey Demcad, Nice on location video, Flint looks nicer than I perceived it to be! Hope your happy there.

  • Yeah it does seem nicer than california. To be honest now i know why Reginald decided to leave alaska. Alaska is going to implode from lack of oil revenue (oil will get more expensive but it will be with worthless dollars) and lack of tourism. Plus there aint no women there.

  • cool

  • Thanks for sharing .... Very cool to see where you grew up.

  • great vid DEMCAD, its always interesting to know where people started out, developed their characters etc..keep em comin!

  • It's good to look back once in a while. When I was in high school the school's computer was as big a a washing maching and only the kid's that were brainiacs could use them.

  • Great video Demcad! Good luck with transitioning back home. I think you'll do just fine.

  • I remember the AC/Delco plant area and how bad the roads were in Flint.

  • Really good, but kind of sad. I've taken a lot of guff from some YT posters, I see some here even, who've criticized me for moving on to Europe. As if I could stay in the US without healthcare, and I am disabled from the polio vaccine. People can be so mean. America is worth fighting for, people, pitch in and do your homework. Lots of wrong stuff going on, but some really good individuals there, lots of gumption and verve.

  • I was at genessee valley mall friday Demcad
