@boodspuppy I think Kirsten Dunst made a very good job. Norma shearer, as much as I love the old films, is too much theatratical, and she doesn't seem at all like the true Marie antoinette. While Kirsten's way of playing is far more realistic and faithful to history.

@msinvincible2000 while kirsten dunst was a good actress in the 2006 version and while i like it,nothing can make up for the lack of dialogue in the film,where as in this 1938 version you can understand everything which is going on.I know people who watched the 2006 version not knowing if she actually died.
