  • there is an old silver mine in Calico California - It might be privately owned I do not know but it is an amazing place to visit the ghost town is interesting but they have messed with it and changed it too much. It is close to the tehachepi mountains after you leave the Mojave Desert.

  • @yodasodaskoda Pyrite is both non magnetic and low conductivity, so in general it will not trigger a metal detector, but gold can be present with pyrite as well as other magnetic or conductive minerals.
