  • the interview scene shrinks my testicles

  • . . ."Did I say French?" Haha, this is a great new querky comedy Im into as Iv blitzed Garth Merenghi' Darkplace, Brass Eye and Mighty Boosh.

  • Read Charlie brookers book Dawn of the Dumb - genius

  • The reason Chris Morris was dropped by the BBC was simple.1. He informed idiots that they were in fact idiots but did not know they were idiots until HE pointed it out to them. 2.The rise of the cocaine sniffing idiots that have overun the place have now resumed control and use BBC 3 comedy shite output and a massive budget to do so to inform YOU ( on every media format going) that Gavin and Stacy/ Little Britain are a must watch 3.The more he knew about how it worked the more he was isolated

  • good point man but you do relise everyone on youtube is a complete tosser!

  • What the fuck are you babbling about ya idiot? Idiot on Idiot action in your rant posting fish features.

  • haha... well, maybe "dumbasses" but not really the same 'idiots' as in the show. lol.

    :P

  • i work with 'idiots'. one of them wears those ridiculous MC Hammer pants..

  • Parachute pants are the shiz!

  • This series of videos is a well reasoned and researched argument on the right to kill people.

  • That is serious mate, serious. Believe.

  • LOL.

  • Oh gawd! I've worked with these people!!! I feel for Juiian's character...but he always gets me with pitiful, every time! Confederacy of Dunces!

  • The older and more hateful i become the more i appreciate this show.

  • I'm 20 and I appreciate this show more everytime I leave the house.

  • i wish it there were more "idiots" here in texas.

  • erm, you live in america...?

    need i say any more?

  • you do need to say more.... i was just stating that there weren't "idiots" of the sorts that are in this show. there's a lot of dumb people, just not "idiots".

and yes, i do live in america... but i'm not american.

  • where you from then :o

  • Dutch wine! classic stuff

  • Dutch, lol

  • Chris Morris is a bloody genius

  • What about charlie brooker?

  • They're both fucking geniuses!!!

  • And charlie brooker mate, dont forget him ;-)

  • this entire show is just bursting with style

  • You're bursting with shit.

  • No, you're bursting with shit.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

God, I should write for Horne and Corden.

  • nah, sorry he is over rated, the sketch show was just TERRIBLE! Gavin and Stacey was average, and he is a bit of a dick

plus it's not that difficult to be funnier than Little Britian

  • I cant stand Corden and his bender little mate. They are in a league with thee pints of lager and a packet of crisps. My sarcasm was lost somewere in translation. Apologies.

  • Cock Muff Bum Hole anyone?

  • the editor is a legend, "A nice glass of dutch wine"

  • Julian Barrat is awesome in this.

  • thanks for uploading all these

  • i like the wheels

  • haha .... yeah .. i... like....their...wheels...

  • Julians delivery is brilliant.

  • french....spanish.....dutch.....southern french......danish

    awkward!

  • That bloke, his name what is it?

    Oliver Chris, or Chris Oliver?

It was something silly like that. He's in green wing and very tall

  • Jonnaton Yeah? is comedy genius.

  • Feel so bad for ashcroft. Even though he's a fictional character. But then again I always feel bad for him in le mighty boosh too.

    He's actually a great actor.

  • sometimes i doubt it's an act

  • maybe, altho the charechter (Dan's) is based on Charlie Brooker

  • Pub etc?

  • "umm.. i dont want to go back.. um coz they're idiots, so.. and they ride around on little plastic tractors.. so please...."

    Haha most awkward interview ever.

  • cant belevie how good julian is in this!!!

  • Do you know about wine?

    Yes

    EXCRUTIATING!

  • "Dutch Wine", gold!!

  • LMFAO!! this is soooo funny ..julian is soo good at doing this kind of thing. why hasnt it had more publicity??

  • how the hell have i NEVER seen this show before???

aww bless . julian is always awkward

i thought i would be awkward when me and other people met him . but i actually wasnt :)

  • IGNORE MY OTHER COMMENT

i really fucked up that comment

how the hell have i NEVER seen this show before???

aww bless . julian is always awkward

i thought he would be awkward when me and other people met him . but he actually wasnt :)

  • Irony. Goes. Over. All. Your. Pin. Heads.

    Peace and fucking...

  • Man that interview is painful. I've had bullshit overload interview just like that.

  • Julians amazing at making any situation uncomfortable. He's funnier than Noel in the boosh tbf!

  • I've never seen this before, this is SO awkward! I quite like this show already, but I'm watching a lot of it behind my fingers. I love Julian Barratt, he is SO good at being awkward.

  • i dislike your manner of speech.

  • Ut-hum... I did qualify that comment with a warning to other youtube members about plaintive replies. As I explained to you, it definitely isn't offensive because it's not,so how could it be. And anyway why deliberately prolong this farce? I'll have you know that my manner of speech is both adroit and contains the correct amount of outrageous swears. So LOL or ROLFROL or whatever ackronym indicates I have won the slandering contest. Horray for me! Yessss!

  • Yeah, lol and shit, peace and fucking...

Did you have a moment of clarity when you watched this program?

  • shut the fuck up, or say something good ya dick. no one wants to hear some elitist talking rubbish

  • last word merchant

  • I think this show is awesome, it makes me think about all different perspectives on people and personalities, its a great dramatization of the sort of times we are living in at the moment.

  • i dont really get what this is supposed to be. its not really fuuny and its not really a drama. i like the people in it but something is missing.

  • Wow. All of the Nathan Barley fans hate the Boosh fans. Why? They are both good shows

  • I agree they're both good. I think the people slagging off the Boosh haven't noticed that this show takes the piss out of people that take themselves too seriously, as well as the idiots. Even Julian says in an interview he doesn't like Dan Ashcroft.

  • this is a bit like that french play that i can't spell, the person who critises is no better etc etc etc. hey if you so in moral turmoil do something useful

  • hmmm.. strange. i remember seeing this a few years back and quite liking it. it sits up there with other uncomfortably veiwing such as peepshow. i wouldn't say this was really funny, but it is worthwhile veiwing, unlike its sister mighty boosh wich i simply cannot understand why anyone likes.

  • cuz its one of the best british sitcoms in the last ten years, if its good enough for steve coogan its good enough for anyone that knows anything about comedy.

The live show is kick ass

    the cds are genius

the tv show is hilarious, you have to admire the originality

  • Ironic that the very 'idiots' this show revolves around are the exact target audience of The Might Boosh.

  • too fucking right.

  • too fucking right wilfulsunbeam that is

  • Where has this been all my life.

    Nathan Barley > Mighty Boosh

  • "..Bunch of fuckzips!"

  • Why did I never bother to look this up before?

Julian Barratt is fantastic in this.

  • He's brilliant. And this show is really good. I'd enjoy it even if he wasn't in it, but he makes it that much better.

  • chris morris is a genious. check jam and monkey dust.

  • aahhhh, most awkward interview ever...

  • Julian's a handsome man.

  • that interviwe was painful!

    poor Dan xx

  • ...thanks for posting this, but this is some shit editing here.

  • BTW Mighty Boosh began in 1998 (as live shows first) and Nathan Barley was the main character of a fictional documentary called 'cunt', back in 1999 (from tvgohome). The chances of one show influencing the other are pretty unlikely since they both originate from ideas thought up the 90's.

  • Wasn't Arctic Boosh at the fringe years before that? Seems like it.

  • i had to watch that interview scene through my fingers, was so embaressing!

  • ha ha! "garlic twit" and "tit box" I'm not applauding your attitude cos really, what's the use in getting angry about ignorance... what I love is your creative insult reserve! bring out some more!

  • agreed! *waits for thumbs downs*

  • Poor, poor Ashcroft...

I love the way the idiots look almost exactly like scene kids. Don't want to cause a debate, but it's all very true.

I don't want to bring this one up either, but I have to get it off my chest: I hate the way everyone loves Boosh because of Noel, when Julian is - in my opinion - funnier.

  • nice round of dutch wine

  • Barrat's acting is breathtaking in the interview scene! and this show is just so great in every way.

what i don't get is why so many people feel they *have* to mention the boosh.

  • I am never reading comments again. They make me despair- why can't people just watch a video without having other peoples opinions forced on them. You can like more than one show, you know! >:|

  • You can like more than one show but can anyone admit to liking the 'one show' with Adrian Charles? I think not.

I don't agree, I hate it when people don't put comments - it really annoys me that, people keeping their opinions to themselves - they can fuck off. Also, why do people watch things on youtube why don't they just watch things they've seen before like re-runs of HollyOaks? It's madness! Come on people lets all hold hands and join the love train, 'people all over the world...'

  • I like your comment jarzhinio. Made me laugh. The one show is a pile of turd.

  • 6:19 - Never new brooker was involved in this! :D

  • He co-writes it with Chris Morris, and from the content it seems likely that he does most of the plot while Morris is more involved with design elements (music, editing). Nathan Barley himself was invented on Charlie's old TV Go Home Website. Both Chris Morris and Charlie Brooker are awesome.

  • U no who elsa is hot on this..>!

that oen with the hoody and the big big sunnies (:

  • Yeah, you pair of...towels lmao!

  • God this series whole just makes you squirm it's so uncomfortable XD

    Brilliant comedy.

  • Maybe a lot better, & smarter? Maybe came before the Office, & therefor is way ahead of its time?

So if it is too much like the Office, it's because the Office copied it.

Maybe I am biased, because cartoons aside, British television is much better than TV in USA.

  • You realise that the Office came out in 2001 and Nathan Barley came out in 2005 right?

  • "Maybe I am biased, because cartoons aside, British television is much better than TV in USA"

Funny you felt the need to point that out, even though neither of us are American.

  • And the Office is British...

But, how can you compare this to the Office?

  • Did you notice on the end credits a certain Script Advisor by the name of Stephen Merchant..? I'll let you make the link.

Great series. Great satire. (or should I say Gr8..? Nah!)

  • The Office tv show is a bit of a rip on the office segment (in particular) from The Day Today (made by Nathan Barley co-creator Chris Morris) which I guess is why the style seems similar.

  • made by Nathan Barley? Barley is a fictional character, you must mean Charlie Brooker (who created the character).

  • No, I mean the co-creator of the tv show Nathan Barley; Chris Morris.

  • I honestly love julian barratts acting

    its truly believeable isnt it?

    almost "the office"-esque

    but very realistic

    xxx

  • loved it

    by talking about dumb twats

    is nathen barley repusenting chavs?

  • No. He is representing people in 'new media'.

  • cock, muff, bumhole!!! hahaha

  • You're one of the idiots.

  • tailor-made not tailer-made

  • watching that interveiw i want to curl up and die.

  • Now that I watch it knowing Charlie Brooker did it, it seems more and more like his style..

  • God that's more embarrassing to watch than David Brent.

  • Poor Dan :(

  • Richard Ayoade..can he be any more appealing? Much <3 for him, seriously.

  • Richard Ayoade is well sexy here.

    Nathan Barley is legend!

  • The woman nathan harasses in this is beautiful.

  • shit, i didn't know this was written by charlie brooker and chris morris, i now have even more respect for it than before...

  • THIS IS SOOO CONFUSING!!

  • no??? coz i'm a 17 year old Aussie?! what does nationality have to do with this?! haha

  • Yeah, since theres no difference between Australia and Camden Lock.

  • stfu.

  • I feel so bad for Julian in the interveiw scene.

    Great show.

  • Yeah, me too, Blue. From that point on I wanted to rescue him... It was a really well done scene.

  • It was. Julian is great.

  • bring back nathan barley!

  • its comin back.... i cant fuckin wait.

  • When??????????

  • I think, Jullian Barrett looks so much better in this style. Just my opinion though lol

  • top 5 supermarket wines... "French, Italian, eh, spanish, eh dutch, eh eh"!!! classic!!!

  • the boosh is pretty subtle, it's satire could almost be pointed at the same "idiots" barley is pointed at, of course being as pretentious as we all are we do indeed have to find these hidden meanings as oppose to just enjoying the program

  • that was pretty much just words. do YOU know what you mean? fucking hell.

  • really?... my understanding of boosh is just noel fielding's n julian barrat's creation based on their humour on randomness... and they've included the "idiot" topic but only in series 3...1 + 2 had nothing to do with what u were talking about.

  • what i said can kinda be supported by the standups they both did (individually) way before boosh started.

  • julian <3333

  • I only heard of this show about an hour ago, and now I know why. :| It was all right, but OMG have Morris, Brooker, Baynham & Merchant done better. It all seems a bit Brooker-heavy (what with Dan Ashcroft being a carbon copy of Charlie, 'cept better looking), and IMO his comedy works best in print. Guardian!Brooker = fucking funny; Screenwipe = not so much. Still - dead entertaining. Thanks for uploading!

  • uhh no

  • Leave the Boosh out of this. :\

  • I c wat u did thar

  • Why because the mighty boosh is popular with young people? Or are you just one of those bitter reclusive people who don't get it? Clearly the mighty boosh is a comedy programme that also satirizes a culture of idiots.

  • can i point out that the mighty boosh was around prior to nathan barley? despite it now having a larger audience than when the television series began in 2004 (after the radio series and live shows), i'm not sure that it is tailor-made to appeal to people like nathan barley

  • And could I just point out that Nathan Barley first appeared on Charlie Brooker's spoof TV listings website tvgohome which began in 1999, as the star of a fictional show called "Cunt".

  • Good Point, never thought about that

Man I could be one of the idiots

    Peace and Fucking

  • had a wee peek on your profile there. You appear to be intelligent however you follow scientology? Your mind must be so distorted you cant even grasp reality. How can you follow such a money-greedy "religion". the beliefs are almost hilarious if it wasnt so shocking that people actually follow this!

  • "...but you follow Scientology, and I think Scientology is dumb". Come on. Surely you can think of something better than that. Evolve already. Futures monkey muff.

  • who are you qouting?

maybe my mind is fucked up but personally i think any religion where u have to pay to join is disgusting and immoral.

Not only that but their beliefs are rediculous!!

Do every one a favour and stab yourself in the limbs. We all hope you catch an artery :)

  • Well, I just don't think it's right to judge a person on the basis of a hastily-formed and over-generalised opinion about something they're attached to. Especially when it's done for the purposes of proving yourself right. If you play by those rules then you're bound to win, but any sharp eye can see that you're not playing fair.

  • poor barrat! it's a very unfortunate irony him bieng all mature and stuck with idiots, than given the chance to be part of what sems to be more his scene, but dey just want an idiot instead lol

  • I love Julian Barratt forever!!

  • Poor Dan:(

  • what a show dean learner, julian barrat priceless

  • Oh My God

    I Love Julian Barrett

  • Pub et cetera?

  • funniest series of last couple of years. no jokes, tho.

  • poor julian i love him to bits x

  • Out-cringies The Office

  • Definatly in the same vein.
