Thats pretty badass! Definitely a unique ride. He couldve easily did what everyone else does and run a small or big block Chevy, but instead chose to be different and run an I-6. Props!
That is the best engine chevy ever made. Too bad they went back to the bad cold knocking v8's. The trailblazer I had was a good truck. Never had any engine problems like bad head gasket or anything. Ran super smooth. If this engine was a option for the silverado. I would have got the 4.2L and got rid of the 5.3L.
@Justy330 dont blame u. the 4.2 puts out just a tad shy stock what the 5.3 does but its a much better quality engine and with VVT it pulls itself with little effort. it has a better torque curve too i think.
those are throttle by wire engines right?i thought about making an adapter plate to bolt the intake and bolting a mechanical throttle body to the adapter and tune out the TBW stuff

I am a "gasser geezer" and lovin it.
OK old people. Remember when you
were up all day and night tuning by
feel in yer rickety 'ol garage? Some guys hated the in-liners. I didn't. They had
great launches and could build consistent
power thru the line (some). Those Lucky
smokin' greasers w/two yellow teeth
knew something about wrenchin'. They
were the "ruff-butts" at Lyon's. Kinda like
old Smokie Y.

Darn. I thought I was the only person to think of putting that Vortec 4.2 in a 49-54 chevy. Least I know it works now.

I wanted to put a BMW V10 in mine.....but alas, the idea was taken!
Sucks doesn't it! I hate it when that happens!

All great ideas are always going to happen sadly....But start thinking of them groundbreaking ones.

Oh, I know.
I've thought of a few ideas that ALMOST landed me a career with Lamborghini. Not Lying!
But I didn't get it, because I don't have a university/tech training.
