@hailfire82997 Nah. Buses contain a lot of heavy iron. That's big weight being propelled down the highway. If you're moving at a good clip, they require a lot of distance to come to a stop. He had the break pinned - the bus was just sliding forward in an all-wheel lock-up.

Driving a bus at times can be fun, but it can be also be boring and tedious at times. The temptation to occupy your time with other things reels up its ugly head with today's techno gadgets. But it's no excuse as a driver has to be alert 100% of the time, just like an airline pilot, locomotive engineer, and ship's helmsman.

I drive a bus myself and have for 11 years, I am sure he was terminated it is clearly against policiy of most all transit to text while driving. At my job if you don't have an accident the first offense driving while using a cell phone is 2 weeks without pay, next offense is immediate termination. Having an accident while using the cell phone is termination, the union might get his job back but management would be looking for any reason to terminate him and he would be lucky to last a year.
