  • I wish I had a store like that here man. I live in North eastern Ct. It's slim picking up here. Thanks for sharing.

  • @paully069 I have been to quite a number of good shops out in Ct. Try House Of Fins out in Greenwich.

  • do u have exact address?do they still in bussines?

  • @brilly21 Its in the description box :)

  • How much are their frags? Are they all $25/frag? Anything cheaper there? Were those acans in the hundreds?!

  • @Subw00er They have all different prices, 15, 20, 25 and so on. I have not been there in a year so not to sure what they have their now, but if you live in NY, it worth checking this place out.

  • @newyorksteelo ok thanks. I dont live in nyc but may visit.. was trying to figure out what the best coral LFS places were. I'm going to be just on LI and north so I' was trying to see if it was worth it to make a special trip into the city to go to Manhattan Aquarium.

  • @Subw00er This is one of the best shops here in NYC but they are expensive :) You may also want to check out Fishtown USA in flushing queens. Good luck.

  • This is AMAZING!! Forget scuba diving!! lol! We have a lot of fish stores around here in S. Florida, but nothing compares to this.

  • @afansince69 :)

  • wow so cool it`s like looking at candy lol =D

  • THE89KINGZ that is another thing they do they collect all fish tanks in a big tank in the back and have all these special things they do

  • @TWhite2345 Yep :)

  • How much is a ocellaris clownfish

  • @TWhite2345 Not too sure, but they range from probably 9.99 and higher depending on the size and species that you buy.

  • Steelo answer me this question. How in the hell are they able to keep so many fish that are listed as needing 100 gal min in such tiny tanks-and furthermore, they're sharing those small tanks with other inhabitants.

For example that one tank has 6 fox faces, a clown, and a damsel in that tiny ass tank. How do they do that?!

And same thing with the tank with the emperor angel!

  • @THE89KiNGZ It's a retailer, and all of these fish are housed in those tanks momentarily until a hobbyist buys one and takes it home to house it in the proper sized tank. This is how it is for all aquarium fish stores. One cannot expect them to have one large tank for each of these fish you know :)

  • @newyorksteelo Ohhh okay. I guess that makes sense. I thought they had some kind of super high grade filtration that was allowing them to keep the fish like this.

  • Hey NY Steelo, big fan of your vids

i live in new jersey and all of my LFS i have bought from were not impressive like this one. you think the 13 dollar toll is worth some healthy, good fish form them?

  • @Saadatski4 They have quite a few places out in jersey that are awesome. Try Fishtown USA in Jersey, or the ones in queens too. They may not be great with SPS corals, but all other corals are 20% off all day everyday. Good luck :)

  • Hey NYsteelo. I love your videos and hope to see some more very soon. One quick question, what would you say was the cheapest price for the frags in the store? I heard youmention $25, but is that as low as they go? Also, do you know of any other good marine stores in manhattan? i recently went to a place on 65th and columbus and wasnt very impressed. Thx and keep up the great videos!

  • @waterboy1394 They have some frags in the store for like $10 or $15 bucks, and some really nice ones for $25 bucks. It depends on the frag you want to buy, how fast it grows, and its rarity and availability. There are quite a few in manhattan alone that I fequently visit but not much of a fan. Try "Fauna" and "New World Aquartium". Not the very best but worth going to check out for yourself. God bless and good luck.

  • Hey NY Steelo props on the videos I been watching all of them from the beginning. My cousing aka MasterTechRepair got me in to this hobby lol he been helping me as i learn to be able to set up my 55g SW reef aquarium. One question on this particular video that Australian fish was so beautiful but I couldn't hear well when you mention why you can put him in your 90g?? Also how much that fish goes for?

  • @nymxcar Definately not. It will grow too big for your 55g tank. The one you see in the video is huge but I do not readily know the price. Thanks for watching my videos :) Greatly appreciate the feedback as well and if you have any other questions, I am here to help out. Good luck and send my thanks to MasterTechRepair for me :)

  • Hi guys, I'm looking for an American Aquarium shop, pref one whit a webpage. That are willing to make a shipment to Denmark-Europe. I want to buy 20XGlofish ,all tree colors(Starfire Red,Electric Green,Sunburst Orange),total of 60 Glofish. The shipment might be split up and send over two times. Shipment will be made express. So if you are a dealer or know a professional shop that would be able to make this kind of shipment. Then let me know, send an Personal Message or email Glofish-EU@hotmail.com

  • Man..wish there was a store like that here...

  • @808Aquaholic Maybe there is. Try doing an internet search for pet stores in your area.

  • Wish I had a fish store like that buddy, then again if I did I would be broke lol,

  • @dm002a8686 Haaaaaaaa :)

  • Who would dislike this?

  • @AQUAReef365 No one I suppose :)

  • @AQUAReef365 Probably New World Aquarium on 38 & 3. Not the nicest people I've been told.

  • @stringztoo I agree. Been there many times before over the years, and the manager aways has an attitude problem. Definitely no where near the caliber of local fish stgore covered in the video.

  • Wow thanks Newyorksteelo I need all the help I can get! I be sure too watch all of them! :D

  • Hi I just got a 90 aquarium and was thinking about turning it into a saltwater aquarium. I am a beginner when it comes to a saltwater habitat but I have a 30 gallon freshwater aquarium! Could you help in telling me what I need to get started it's brand new and sitting in my living room! I would first like to know what type of pump I need to power this beautiful tank.

  • @xXTheXboxKillerXx If you are trying to turn your 90g system, I have many videos talking about how this system works as well as a video series describing how I am setting it up in detail. If you plan on building the 30g nano into a reef instead, I also have a 6 videos series describing how to build the 30g nano system. Please watch mostly all of my videos and if after you have any questions, I am here to help out. Good luck :)

  • ok thanks..... i have been to that fish place but that was before i was into the salt water fish and i was working with cichlids so i didnt really check out the marine section. i thought their prices were ridiculous but it was huge in there! im just trying to find some new places to explore...i have been to almost every fish store in PA lol

  • would you say they are reasonably priced? I live in PA and im trying to get my dad to take a trip to NY to see this place :) looks awesome especially those rays!

  • @dinodirlIf you live in PA, why not go to "That Fish Place" which is the largest aquarium store in the USA. The prices at Manhattan Aquariums are somewhat reasonable but there are cheaper places. You do get what you pay for though. They have a website to order from called "unique corals. com" Just place the words together to get the link.

  • NewYorkSteelo I was wondering where do you purchase your live rock? I would like to take your advice on the type to purchase. This is expensive,"Agreed". but I prefer Quality when it comes to live rock.

Thank you again and another well done video.

Hope your enjoying the winder wonderland, here in Brooklyn its a mess.

  • @bksdiesel76 I got my live rock from another local fish store in yonkers and had the owner special order it for me, but if I were to buy live rock today, I would get it from liveaquaria. Their prices are unbelievably cheap even with shipping, and I totally agree with you that it is better to get quality. It is a mess out here as well man with the snow and all.

  • @newyorksteelo please dont say exotic's. that store has gone downhill over the years

  • @waterboy1394 I agree with you here totally and it is exotic pet warehouse I am referring to. It has gone down in quality over the years but the owner "Lou" always hooks me up and gets me the best prices. He knows me better than to try and sell me the rock he has there. He special orders what ever I want for me, and I know exactly what I need and am looking for.

  • those are some nice rays!

  • Thanks, I will probably take a 30 min drive to New Jersey tomorrow lol

  • @Italianboy196 This place is in ny.

  • @newyorksteelo whats the store called?

  • @RaffleReefer10 The title of the video is the name of the store.

  • @newyorksteelo damn im blind and dum

  • Hey how are the prices...decent?

  • @Italianboy196 I would say the prices are a little high but you get what you pay for. The corals are well taken cared off and you get quality.

  • i wish we had fish stores like that in the UK

  • @reefsUK Sorry!

  • Yeah I've heard about them tru manhattan reef , anyway I should be checking out this place this saturday , all I hear is great stuff from the place and workers...

  • @xDAVMANx They know their stuff when it comes to reefs and have some of the nicest corals in NY. A bit expensive but you get quality and if you are a member of Manhattan Reefs, you automatically get 10% off your total purchase. Highly recommended local live fish store. Enjoy your visit.

  • If you're on the West side definitely check this place out. The guys are cool. You can walk in just to admire and you won't get an attitude.

  • me and my friends have been to almost every fish store in la and they are all for freshwater and you can not trust them!!

  • @ballerbrian4u I agree with that statement. I usually think to myself, if a live fish stores main tanks are freshwater, chances are they are not very knowledgeable in saltwater. I like to go to places that have more marine tanks than freshwater tanks and tend to rely more on these types of live fish stores.

  • Mann i wish we had a fish store like that in los angeless

  • @ballerbrian4u Really, LA should have plenty of live fish stores similar to this one if not bigger. LA is huge.

  • man i wish they had a big place like that here in buffalo we have a few places like a reef creation but theyre store is that big lol nice footage

  • @sabrbuff It's a great store, not so much cause of the size, but because of the quality they sell when it comes to livestock.

  • Wow, what a beautiful well kept place....

Loved the coral selection, Thanks for taking the time to show us around...=)

  • @Gilbert289 No problem!

  • woww what an amazing store

  • @charmanderzor so what happened to the internet?

  • triggers will eat all the coraL TOO! :/ GREAT VID THOUGH.

  • @ReptiCon725 I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @newyorksteelo haha! well hers an idea. when you upgrade your tank, turn the 90 gal into a fish only or predator tank!

  • @ReptiCon725 I have thought about doing this for over a year but this can be expensive because I would need a new chiller, skimmer, live rock, live sand ect. ect. All of this would run me an extra $2000 bucks aside from what I have to spend on the 180. Instead, I was thinking of ither selling the 90 tank, stand, lights, sump and use the rest of the equipment left towards the 180, or, turn this tank into a freshwater planted aquarium with commenity fish and put it in my room.

  • @newyorksteelo well, for a fish only tank a chiller isnt all that necessary.

  • @ReptiCon725 If I keep it a saltwater fish tank only, I would definately want the tank with live rock as filtration and I would also continue to use the metal halide fixture for the fish only with live rock tank (fowlr). What Else am I to do with these lights anyway? DOnt want to sell em and can't use them on the 180 so having these lights is going to require the chiller. Even with the freshwater planted aquarium I would need the chiller. Lets see what the future holds........

  • @newyorksteelo i see, thats too bad that those lights are causing a predicament. i'm sure whatever happens in the future wil be for the best.

  • @ReptiCon725 Let's see what I decide to do in the near future, for now I am focusing on getting corals for the 90 for the upgrade.

  • that orange montipora at 4:09, how mcuh would that be worth?

  • @dylandabomb230 The entire piece probably $1000 + maybe more. This piece is huge! The owner does not sell corals from his cylinder tank however, I was able to get him to cut me a piece bigger than my hand of the orange montiopora capricornis for 50 bucks. I also bought a few other pieces from him and will make a video later on today. Subscribe if youd like so you can see the video.

  • @dylandabomb230 Oh wait LOL! you already subscribed a while back. Stay tuned for my next video today. Peace!

  • on wha t street they located or what is the name of the store

  • @oneilwiz The name is "Manhattan Aquariums" and they are located on 37th street between 10th and 11th ave. Great place man. If you go there, look for john. He is great with the prices and will work with you. Also, if you are a member of Manhattan Reefs forums you get 10% off all your purchases. If you are not yet a member of manhattan reefs, they will make you one LOL!

  • K ill make a vid so u can actually see it, thanx for the help :)

  • @ryjack26 Did you get the private message I sent you with links where professionals answer your question? They state that snails do not eat coraline algae but rather urchins are known for eating it. Hope this helps. I would like to see the video though. I'll be waiting for it.

  • I put him in on one of tge rocks after an hour of drip acc. And i was watching him move and he was leaving a white trail, so i just put him on the glass and he just stays there, not really a big deal, i also noticed that all day he doesnt move an ince but as soon as tgey turn off hes crawling all around, wierrdd

  • @ryjack26 Probably eating micro and macro algae off the rock. I hope its not cyanobacteria he was eating off the rock and you are confusing it with coraline algae?

  • the closest place that is like that to me is over an hour away. the place i work is about 50/50 and im learning all the time. im trying to get the boss to get more saltwater stuff because it seemes to be selling more and faster.

  • @benboarder09 Believe it or not, when I first set up my very first 45 gallon marine tank, I used to shop at petco and petland discounts LOL. What a mistake. I ended up with a sea clone skimmer, OMG, I am getting flashbacks of me throwing that piece of crap against the wall. I also had a fluval as a filter. Major mistakes. Now and days those petshops are good for getting fish and sometimes only.

  • Ill put up a vid

  • @ryjack26 OK. It could also be that other algae was smothering the coraline, and when the snail ate algae covering the already bleached coraline in that area, a bleached spot was left. I am going to send you several links via private message that contains information on snails and coraline algae. Give me a few and I will google it for you.

  • There is a white streak on my rocks, hes a mexican turbo.

  • @ryjack26 Turbos, Astreas, cerith, whatever kind of snail you have does not eat coraline algae. They eat micro and macro algae. Your rocks may be bleaching and when they bleach, it usually appears in patches or streaks as you stated in your post. Or...... you may have a baby sea urchin hiding on the rocks and eating up the coraline algae.

  • @ryjack26 I tried to post you a link from reef central discussing snails and coraline and it would not allow me to do it. This sucks. But do the research my friend. Google it and search reff central and you will see that what i state is the truth. Do you check for calcium and alkalinity often? If you dont suspect a sea urchin then I would test my calcium levels.

  • that place is like heven. i would never leave. i would have to be pulled out by cops or something.

  • @benboarder09 They are true reefers. My rule of thumb when it comes to LFS is that is a fish store specializes in freshwater first and then have few saltwater tanks, this type of store is not for me. I like stores like this one that specialize in marine first and then have a few freshwater tanks here and there.

  • Lol a mix of low battery and excitement, cant wait for the update, peace

  • What do u suggest i get to wipe out the diatoms, i got snails and they started eating my coraline and they wont touch the sand so i put him on the glass, and hermits really dont like tge diatoms, i was thinking about a diamond goby

  • @ryjack26 Diatoms are nothing to be concerned about as they are not harmfull however, they are an indication that the tank is unstable, and possibly is iether still going through minor cycles, or there is excess nitrates and other nutrients in the tank. The longer and more mature the tank gets, the less you will get the dusty brown diatoms and the more you will get greener dusty algae.

  • @ryjack26 Also, a great way to battle diatoms is by using pure water, in other words RO/DI water and WATERMOVEMENT, I cant stress how important water movement is in a marine tank. If you dont belive me then go look at the watermovement on this video. He has MP40's, MP20's, MP's and tunze powerheads on all his tanks. What you see in this video is how marine tanks should be properly set up.

  • @ryjack26 Oh and another thing, snails dont eat coraline algae, and goby's pray on the micro and macro fauna in the sand bed. This is why I am not a fan of any marine animals that disturb the sandbed. Your diatoms will begin to disappear in time with good water movement and when your critters begin to multiply and your system matures.

  • Im sorry for the spinning next time ill make a new vid, is the flower coral the huge on that has layers??

  • @ryjack26 Thats ok, as long as next time you give me a chance to look for a few seconds on each tank lol. Yes, it is the flower pot coral on his main display cylinder tank. The corals in that tank are not for sale but he sold me a nice big frag for 50 bucks, It's bigger than the size of my hand. You will see it tomorrow in the new video of my 90 gallon update.

  • i dont really see any means of filtration (that can handle this large of a bi0-load), do they have like a giant sump/fuge in another room?

  • @ryjack26 Yes, In the basement which is where i bought some of his sand. I am going to stop by there next week to begin stocking on SPS. When I go, I will ask him to let me film the basement. Let's see what he says.

  • that is just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ryjack26 Preety cool huh! They have really healthy fish as well as corals and today, I was able to convince him to sell me a piece of the montiapora capricornis he has on his cylinder tank. The coral that looks like a flower and is pinkish red. Stay tuned as I will add this video once I attach these corals. It's a long process deciding where to place them.

  • did my vid motivate u to film this? lol, seems like an amazing place, are they very expensive?

  • @ryjack26 The answer to your question is yes and no LOL! yes because when I saw your video it motivated me but I almost got a headache from the spinning LOL, I was mad at you for making it so spinny LOL. And no because I stopped by there today and bought about 5 pieces of coral, and as promised I took a video of the store. I am attaching the corals and will make a video of the tank. It's starting to look like a reef. Yeahhhh!
