I'm just gonna throw this out: Linda was very plain-looking. I'm being completely serious, she was not a very attractive woman. I know she's more beautiful on the inside, but it amazes me that out of all the beautiful women Paul has come across that would give anything to marry him, he chose her. I just thought that was interesting.

I'm SURE that the Beatles had the most beautiful woman at their feet. And I'm sure that gets boring after many years having the most beautiful woman in the world. Linda was a handsome woman who didn't need all the make up ...she was natural and she was REAL. She was not the typical air head barbie doll or Swedish model that most shallow minded rock stars like to have hanging on their arms.

The story was that Paul did this song because the BBC had just banned "Give Ireland back to the Irish" and he put this song out as a way of saying "OK -- ban this one!" Don't know if it's true or not, but it's an interesting theory...
Recall seeing this special but of course it was broken up with many commercials, ect. wonder if McCartney might ever get this out on DVD? Does he own the rights to it? thanks for posting this classic special!!

lennon made a big mistake dumping the beatles..he was manic depressive and a bit bi polar with addiction problems...he ended up a mess...
