It claims that the ruling family is of Mohe stock which clashes with the traditional Korean view that the ruling family is of Goguryeo origin. This is the mainstream view not a fringe propagandistic view. Chinese until the 80s left off Balhae of their history text. I'm not saying chinese history is overall propagandistic but NE project is.

In one of the programs broadcasted to Korea apparently the chinese historians and archeologist were unaware that Koreans were not allowed to those sites. Also there have been accusation of chinese tampering or neglecting those sites. An example is they found a tomb of a balhae princess but because they are afraid that genetic testing may rebut that the royal family is not of mohe stock they blocked access to the tomb.
