  • 干扰自由的声音,Interfere with the free sound

  • Sounds like an rock/opera going on.

  • in this video is it currently jamming anything?

  • @GMSamuelRhine I am not sure. It's too powerful to detect a broadcast underneath, and most things it jams move to a different frequency.

  • @calcvids ah yeah, i've been listening to it a bit recently and was able to hear a bit of falun gong programming for a split second but it's hard to understand anything

  • Oh god, not this :(

  • I heard this while listening to BBC world service when going through the three gorges dam and the China national radio were clearly trying to jam western broadcasts

  • in indonesia you can listen that signal strongly at 31 mb. hand in hand with rfa in 17 utc

  • firedrake ftw.

  • holy crap if you are able to catch this in finland then the chinese must have one heck of a powerful station

  • @Flankymanga This is transmitted outside of China too

  • @Pokal777 are you saying that chinese are having this transmitter jammer outside of china as well? If so... where?

  • i want a studio version if someone could get it

  • @TheCintron Some people used the satellite link to make a CD (1 hr loop) of it. It's (nearly) free. See SatDirectory's page on Firedrake.

  • only problem is that if you set this up it just screams CHINESE JAMMER!!!!! lmao

  • Damn the chinks! Yeah.... And people still buy made in china shit!!!! I thought my country hated the commies but I wonder.

  • pool closed due to communism

  • Firedrake

  • it is common for communist nations to use short wave jamming that sounds like music. what you are hearing might be a short wave radio station China does not want anybody to listen to.

  • is that just a short wave radio that u can get in a store??

  • yep, I bought in on ebay

  • @Dusty696969

this is one of the best shortwave receivers ever !

    it's a Degen DE1103

  • lol :)

  • g7vgg, NO broadcast is legal without a station identifier.

  • @g7vgg agreed, it is a broadcast station. Nothing to do with jamming, and people marking your comment as spam is silly.

I think the 2 of us probably know more about HF than the average listener. I have a class A! On these videos people know nothing abotu aerials, propagation or filtering.

  • @urbex2007 It IS a jammer. I have an Extra license. I've been a SWL for years. I probably know more about HF utility/jammers than you. It also is on 12600 kHz. That's not allocated to broadcast Neither is 10300 or 14700. It's jamming a broadcast. Also, a ham radio license doesn't mean you're a utility station expert. It just means you acknowledge the existence of HF.

  • @g7vgg thats firedrake! not commercial. more like hitlerism!

  • @g7vgg If it wasn't a jammer it wouldn't use occupied frequencies nor use half a million watts.

  • @calcvids he obviously knows nothing about chinese censorship or the firedrake

  • what's it supposed to be jamming? it sounds like the same ear piercing shit they listen to normally for entertainment

  • Same here and I am learning chinese.

  • mootard, they are jamming broadcasts from Free Tibet, VOA and world news services from multiple countries on multiple frequencies simultaneously. They have reduced some of the SW jamming at the same time they reached an agreement with Google to censor and report Chinese people who visit websites "against the Chinese government."

  • Harsh!

  • Just noticed we have viewers also from Macau, China. Can you send a QSL-card for me, please? :)

  • Westwind75 is such a commie stooge.

  • Well if Obama gets his way with the 'fairness doctrine' and shuts down consevative talkshows it will be the same. BEWARE OF THE ATTACK ON FREE SPEECH IN THE USA AS WELL. Face it liberals suck...

  • Westwind75, These laws have been valid since before you were born, unless you are more than 102 years old. They are from BERLIN 1906. I PMed you multiple links to international radio regulations. If you are truly interested read up on it, take the test and get your license. What China is doing is ILLEGAL. IF the USA did it would you have the same opinion? I think not. FIREDRAKE IT WRONG! STOP THE CHINESE OPPRESSION OF FREE SPEECH!

  • BARNEY, If you are not a ham (CW/DXer)? you most likely don't understand what all this means. That's nothing against you. What the Chinese gov't is doing with Firedrake is ILLEGAL.

  • This is from IRT - only 1 of many laws.

RR15.12 Administrations shall take all practicable and necessary steps to ensure that the operation of electrical apparatus or installations of any kind, including power and telecommunication distribution networks, but excluding ISM, does not cause harmful interference to a radiocommunication service and, in particular, to a radionavigation or any other safety service operating in accordance with the provisions of these Regulations.

  • westwind75,

I noticed you are still silent about Chinese jamming from Firedrake. Did your comrade-political officer give you another assignment?

  • his account is closed - for good reasons

  • @GhettoTuerken REALLY?? How curious, I just heard that Google is going to pull out of China, I wonder....you know, since China can't control Youtube, they can at least troll when their government employed hackers are not too busy.

  • maybe you should learn to use your sw receiver.

  • man, that was a POOR reaction on my point!

  • You're receiving everything then because a lot of foreigners are in country. Other than that, they jam things like Voice of America, Radio Free Asia, BBC World Service, etc.

  • @westwind75

    it's not on air 24/7

  • I spoke to a responsible person from

from Hainan Island transmitter-station today, just to answer your question here.

    The station callsign is: BY-FG44

The music played is from an inofficial/ unkwnon composer who is huge fan of Falun Gong.

So its all fine so far.. No jamming at all. just nice traditional music to practice Falung Gong at home without having a stereo

  • First, YOUR call sign NOT the Chinese "official" call sign of their government stations. Second, This station NEVER uses its call sign, that's illegal by INTERNATIONAL law. Third, "UNKNOWN Composer who is huge fan of Falun Gong." REALLY???? If he is unknown, HOW DO YOU KNOW he is a fan of Falun Gong??? Fourth, THIS STATION OPERATES ILLEGALLY because it transmits over other legal stations! You have NO CALL SIGN?? You are not a licensed radio operator!

    Stop defending communist oppression!

  • So why do you think I have a callsign?

We're talking about shortwave radio listening, as far as I know, there is no need to have license for being SWL.

Also I am not trying to defend communist oppression, maybe I am a little bit more opend minded, having a different idea , of what the firedrake-thing does..

I am here to share my thoughts..

  • IF you had a license, hence a call sign, you would know that firedrake is illegal. This is NOT about "open minded" This is about legal and illegal.

  • @dieselsceince & Realitaetsroboter

communism is just the idea of everyine sharing with everyone. I think you mean "fascist" opression, that's what it is, and besides, China is extremely Capitalist. they used to be communist, but they only say they are now.

I expect various flames or silence, or intelligent response (both of you look quite smart so i imagine your replies will be knowledgeable)

  • Jamming civilian short wave radio transmissions is ILLEGAL regardless of who does it. BTW, I grew up 11 miles from COMMUNIST East Germany. I said 'communist' because I meant it, the communist party is still in control. Totalitarian is more a propos than fascist. Under Mussolini and Franco (fascists) private enterprise meant private CONTROL. Not so in China. The Communist politico-economic model is more complex that just sharing. Jamming these frequencies is communist oppression STOP THE JAMMING!

  • I truly found out what this transmission and music is all about, it' to practice Falun Gong !! You know that Falun Gong thing ?

People meet in parks and gardens, carry their radios and do mental aerobics...

  • nice try :D

  • Yeah, traditional Chinese music. Some people call it jamming, but thats not true.

  • This jamming is targeted to Mandarin and Tibetian service of the Voice of America, Radio Free Asia and the BBC World Service.

  • And I say, this is just a lie of the western world, to defame the chinese government. There are no giving proofs that this transmissions coming from china or in its authority..

  • No, YOU and Chi - Communists are the ONLY LIARS in this topic!!! And even the North Koreans have said that!

  • Not jamming? It broadcasts on dozenz of stations, with no news and no station ident, and it obviously broadcasts over other stations; I'd call it jamming :)

  • I'm aware I spelt 'dozens' wrong lol, but additionally, if it's Chinese 'traditional music' and it obviously broadcasts over stations that are critical of China, it makes sense to surmise that is in fact ran by China as part of it's attempt to block all foreign media.

  • ANY time a signal unauthorized/unlicensed is transmitted on the same frequency as another signal it is called "jamming." No matter if it's for political or commercial reasons, it is ILLEGAL and CHINA IS WRONG FOR JAMMING CIVILIAN RADIO!!

  • Check my Video on Youtube. I have given proofs that they are not jamming on frequencies in use!!!

Apart from that, broadcast-frequencies are not under regiment of a world wide law. Every Country got its own. Check my Video!!!

  • Unable to find proofs you said you have given.

  • Do you want to prove something???

    TELL US YOUR CALL SIGN....

  • what call sign ?

  • EXACTLY! you have no clue what we are talking about.

  • laughing. no clue what you are talking about. lol

  • How do you now its a jammer? Maybe the just want to send out happy music.

  • Traditional Chinese music. Love it.

  • Atleast their nice about it and give you some music to listen too, unlike Cuba which has that jet plane noise.

  • The chinese will jammed stations it deems unfriendly and what you hear its noisy chinese orchestra music..
