Ahhh this is different from the version from the Arvo Part cd. The original recording features piano/violin and this one sounds like a cello instead of a violin. No matter it is still fantastic!
that the original version is for violin and not for cello doesn't matter, because in this one the tempo is right (in most of the others it is either too fast, or too slow; and also often too much vibrato is used).
I've got about half a dozen versions of this, performed on various instruments. One version is about 22 minutes long, and youtube only allows me to upload 10 mins max, plus I would loose sight of my original intent, spreading it out over that amount of time...short and sweet, that's all it is.
Arvo Pärt likes to make many different versions of some of his pieces, for different instruments, because he thinks music should have a universality that goes beyond suiting the timbre of a particular instrument.
The first performance of Spiegel im Spiegel from the ECM New Series release "Alina" is 10:38 long, but there are two other recordings of it on that cd- one for piano and violin, and one for piano and viola

absolutely breathtaking ... I could watch it forever. Agree you should make a longer version!

You should make a longer version, this is the best visualization of the track so far.
