I know the feeling of trying to find the right school to go too. What kind of stuff are you looking to get into with the Arts: theater, music, film? I know of a good university that has very good programs in those areas, but it is far south from you. It's also huge, 32,000 students.

Minneapolis is awesome in the summertime for people watching. I used to work in the IDS and loved crusing around at lunch just watching ppl. I always wanted in some ways to live downtown in a condo or something; I always thought that would be something I'd enjoy. Some of the people who are your roommates may end up being great friends of yours for quite a long time. Learn to become their friends and enjoy their company, as I'm sure they'll with you.

dude! I know exactly how you feel. It's like, I've been to fargo, and I live in Minot, and when I went to Minneapolis. It was mindblowing all the different people, buildings, EVERYTHING.

Ah roommates.......eeeeeshhhhhh.....my first roommate was hell....He was strange and smoked cigars.......Thankfully I got out of that and out of that small town college quickly.

Ooops side note: I just googled it and they actually do a spring Crawl and a fall Crawl, so the dates for this fall are October 9, 10, 11. There's so much to see, you can either take the bus which will take you to various studios/galleries/random art set-ups or you can just walk a section of the route. So yeah, St. Paul Art Crawl, be there or be square.
Well i think you're def. going to be a step up on a lot of people in a lot of other schools. My roommate and I were total opposites, couldn't stand eachother so I ended up emptying my bank account so I could move into the empty room next door and live alone freshman year. NOT FUN!
The Cities are so awesome, I live a few hours away and I love to visit there. Make sure you go to the St. Paul Art Crawl next spring, it's awesome!

trust me, it's good that you're going to have your own room, even though it costs more. my first two years of college i had a roommate and it sucks when he's trying to sleep when you're awake, or vice versa. plus you hardly get any privacy. i'm paying the extra money to have my own room this year. it's also really cool that you got to meet your roommates beforehand, i didn't get to meet my roommates until the day i moved into my dorm

You're majoring in Fine Arts at a large city school; that means the chance of being among people with values similar to your own is quite high. (I'd be surprised if any of them can name more than a single professional football player.) Everyone freaks out before starting school....I know the whole second guessing thing, but you just have to go in full-force before you know if you like it or not.
And BTW, if you are in the cities during the summer you should take a mini road trip to the Chippewa Falls in Wisconsin. You get to swim in them...which is amazing.

By the way, if you go this fall make some friends or find out how you can get into one of the buildings to have your stuff on display next spring. Then you can be IN the Art Crawl instead of just going to see it! Fun!

Ah roommates.......eeeeeshhhhhh.....my first roommate was hell....He was strange and smoked cigars.......Thankfully I got out of that and out of that small town college quickly.
It sounds like you have a much better choice for roommates.
And dont be scared...you WILL do great with whatever you choose to do. Ive been around the block a few times in advertising and I like what I see in your photography. You have potential.

Ooops side note: I just googled it and they actually do a spring Crawl and a fall Crawl, so the dates for this fall are October 9, 10, 11. There's so much to see, you can either take the bus which will take you to various studios/galleries/random art set-ups or you can just walk a section of the route. So yeah, St. Paul Art Crawl, be there or be square.

Well i think you're def. going to be a step up on a lot of people in a lot of other schools. My roommate and I were total opposites, couldn't stand eachother so I ended up emptying my bank account so I could move into the empty room next door and live alone freshman year. NOT FUN!
The Cities are so awesome, I live a few hours away and I love to visit there. Make sure you go to the St. Paul Art Crawl next spring, it's awesome!

trust me, it's good that you're going to have your own room, even though it costs more. my first two years of college i had a roommate and it sucks when he's trying to sleep when you're awake, or vice versa. plus you hardly get any privacy. i'm paying the extra money to have my own room this year. it's also really cool that you got to meet your roommates beforehand, i didn't get to meet my roommates until the day i moved into my dorm

You're majoring in Fine Arts at a large city school; that means the chance of being among people with values similar to your own is quite high. (I'd be surprised if any of them can name more than a single professional football player.) Everyone freaks out before starting school....I know the whole second guessing thing, but you just have to go in full-force before you know if you like it or not.
And BTW, if you are in the cities during the summer you should take a mini road trip to the Chippewa Falls in Wisconsin. You get to swim in them...which is amazing.

Glad to hear you found some roommates you think you'll get along with... I'm in my senior year and I've yet to have a roommate that I was able to become really good friends with. I got along with a few alright, but it was more of a coexistence thing than a real friendship.
and I so need to find an American Apparel... I see so many on YouTube with awesome clothes from there, yet I've never actually seen the store anywhere in all my life

during musical, i had a wish string that i had to take off of my wrist, and when i took off my shirt that i had the bracelet over the cuff of, the bracelet flew off into my bathroom and i never saw it again...
