Honor killings in the Muslim world are far more common than in any other religion. Sure there are some fringe elements of every religion, but these extremist elements are much more prevelant (even main stream) in many parts of the Muslim world.

1) Why don't you read verse up to 16 as well. That entire passage is used as a symbol where the men represent Christ and women the Church. It shows how the church is to be submisive to God. Verse 12 states "For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God"

2) You can use many parts of the Bible to justify pretty much anything if you don't put it in context, that verse has nothing to do with Jews, it just refers to people living hypocritically.
