  • BEHOLD!

    The tree of daisies

  • it all started with that crazy gf of his

  • As a religious person I have to ask: Why is the top rated comment in every Fountain video always someone lecturing me about how they don't believe in God?

And YES I got the Buddhist overtones from the movie, thanks... Buddhism and theism are not mutually exclusive. (Heck, Hindus insist that Hinduism and monotheism are not mutually exclusive)

Buddhism is a monist religion = all things are aspects of one indivisible thing

  • Woah o.o That was kind of scary...beautiful, but in a strange way, scary.

  • 5:50 Pure mindblowing fuck awesomeness.

  • aspect ratio dude

  • does this remind anyone of troll 2?

  • @PunLord lol

  • Beautiful, philosophical, thought provoking. I love the entirety of this movie. However, I still have to say what I first saidupon watching the part where the conquistador discovers the true nature of the sap:

    Worst. Tree of Life. EVER!

  • @Mray3460 He should have read the label

"WARNING: For external use only. Do not swallow!"

Side effects of the Tree of Life include hallucinations, bright lights,

unwanted growths, tinnitus, and death. May cause mood swings.

  • yumm that would make good pancake syrup

  • Wow... i'm atheist, let me enjoy my Buddhist, artistic imagery, and beautiful music... stop putting christ into everything, people. I love this movie... and this scene especially.

  • @pouchedrattie

Well really it the same I find more in buddism that resembles relativity i,e Energy cannot be destroyed I liked it was scientific but there was a spiritual aspect and his "past life" was corrolating with with present

  • did anyone else notice that hugh jackman ate tree cum? wolverine would have smite him for eating cum from a tree

  • @mudcrab347 it was purposely made to look like jizz, it makes sense

  • Just like all of Darren Aronofsky's movies, this one rocked my life. except the Wrestler, that one wasnt the greatest

  • It's amazing they even made this movie with such high production value.. it's just too deep and spiritual for the mainstream to devour

  • now they need a movie about the founthain of youth

  • Why do these beautiful and very personal images always, ALWAYS, need to be wasted away because some internet nobody decides to lecture us about his views of God through the YouTubes?

  • the flower part was by FAR the wierd scene in the whole movie

  • @bakeee ditto, thinking about it actual creeps me out

  • The Christian God is understood by Trinitarians as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; a single infinite being who is both within and beyond nature. Because the persons of the Trinity represent a personal relation even on the level of God to himself, he is represented by all Christian denominations to be personal both in his immanence (in his personal relation toward us) and in his transcendence (in his personal relation toward himself).

  • God is usually held to have the properties of holiness (separate from sin and incorruptible), justice (fair, right, and true in all his judgments), omnipotence, omniscience, omnibenevolence (absolute goodness), omnipresence and immortality (eternal and everlasting).

  • God is believed to be both immanent (meaning that he is with and within all things), and transcendent (meaning that he is outside space and time, and therefore eternal and unable to be changed by forces within the universe). Although the Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox churches, and the various Protestant denominations believe that they worship the same God, some have differing beliefs about his nature.

  • In the Christian religion, God is the eternal being that created and preserves the universe. The Bible never speaks of God in an impersonal sense. Instead, it refers to him in personal terms — as one who is, who speaks, who sees, hears, acts, and loves. God is understood to have a will and personality and is an all powerful, divine and benevolent being. He is represented in Scripture as being primarily concerned with people. For he is an all seeing God.

  • Illuminati stuff

  • Why he calls him First Father i dont understand???

  • Great movie, loved it.

  • shut your mouth. you just don't understand art

  • 0.48seconds is such a powerful image.

  • I need to drink from the tree of life within my head within the pineal gland.

  • OK--I've tried to understand this--Does the conquestador turn into a shrub because he chugs the sap? If he had just eaten a little of the bark like the astronaut who he have attained immortality?

  • it's basically the same story 3 times over, in what could be called the past, greed over came and in turn caused his 'death', the 2nd time is because death was quicker than he was, the 3rd time is both the beginning and the end, he is the first father in the end and the beginning and the end is one in the same meaning the legend of the tre is also his. without knowing how to use the tree's properties properly, he dies, but in the end he finally understands.

  • the astronaut is charged with finishing the story, but he can't because it is his only link to the woman he loves (the guy in the present is actually writing the story about the astronaut writing the story). The astronaut is linked to life and the conquistador by desire (I think the desire for the ring represents this). When he finally decides to give up desire he gives up his flesh (by killing the conq). Only then does he get what he desires. Its not about immortality, its about transcendence.

  • i disagree. the guy in the present was trying to find the cure for death. the guy in the present found it and lived for 500 years trying to bring back izzie by taking her tree to the nebula. writing a book about a guy writing a book seems kinda weird. i think the past was the only part that was in the story. present and future were real. but neither of us knows because its open for interpretation

  • i think this is my favorite scene!

  • this is a very beautiful movie! i own it and am very touched by it!

  • WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IN YOUR THOUGHTS?

  • "God" is NOT a singular, separate and distinct entity assigned human traits by religions designed to mire humanity.
