Stop bitching about who's the best guitarist. Music isn't about who can play fastest or who can play the most difficult solo's.....Randy would be the first one to tell you that.
Why, why,why he is dead why why. The first time a hear his voice. Wow mtv was so incredible great in that time giving awards to real musicians now mtv is @*$£#
Hard to believe he has been gone three decades now , I was just a kid...The first time I heard him I fell in love with the sound of the electric guitar and begged my parents for one...for many of us old timers , he is a huge part of our history...now my daughter who just started playing is learning Flying High Again......amazing
why do they have to die? this guy was a rarity that really stood out. not just his talent. one day on a bus with ozzy, he said he wanted to give it up and attend university to study music. as ozzy said, "he really wasn't into being a mega superstar. he was a musician."
He died so young. Age 25. Even though I wasn't around when he died (born 1997) His playing just amazes me. He inspired me to play the guitar today, and I was born 15 years after his death. R.I.P Randy Rhoads, your guitar playing will always inspire young people across the world. Rock and Roll RR.
Randy wanted more than anything to be respected as a guitar player and muscian! He loved playing music and the joy of making music! Im' just glad Guitar Player magazine and it's reader's were able to honor him while he was still alive to apprecciate it!
i watched this thing on vh1 classic about ozzy 30 years after the blizzard and it was all cool until they talked about his death the pictures they show bring alot of tears to even a 12 year old I LOVE RANDY BEST EVER
@adriansmith55 I watched the same thing. I was about to ready to cry. I'm 16, by the way. I held the tears until I saw Ozzy cry. I think he was crying anyways. That's when it came out.
@shadyguitarhero thats a califonian drawl doesnt sound british , however remember he spent quite a bit of time here , with the band rehearsing , recording etc.....might have picked up a few small inflections
I've been a fan of Randy for 30 years... but this is the first time that I've ever seen this interview.
When he said "...and I don't wanna stop here" at the end, well...
Let's just say that this N.Y tough guy has a huge lump in his throat right now. After all of these years, I still can't understand why people like Randy Rhoads are gone. The universe makes no sense.
@ANOTHERHOLEINYOHEAD Thats because Mick Ronson was one of Randy's favorite guitar players and got the idea of getting the Les Paul from him as well as the look on his early days with Quiet Riot.
I never was an Ozzy fan, but, my God, Randy was one of the greatest guys on the Earth! And what a guitarist!!! After 29 years it's still a giant loss.
This Makes me cry all he wanted to do was play guitar for people and make people happy with his playing and he died for that . R.I.P Randy Rhodes hope your teaching god well

Good God, such a beautiful person.
Unlike some of the the trashbag "guitarists" in today's metal who are so up themselves.
Rest easy, Randy. If there is a Heaven, and I go there, I hope to have a wee jam with you :)
