But it's ironic that I've made that point about this music being extremely simple - Most popular music is extremely simple... But hey - music for the mainstream is what it is.
I bet if most of you people listened to a cd of Rudely Interrupted and didn't know that the guys who made it were disabled, you'd think it's shit and uninteresting music. Sorry to say peeps - but I think the fame to this band comes out of sympathy. The views on their videos come from people hearing about a disabled band, and they think, "oh wow, that's something different. This I gotta see." - Applauds to the band anyway, but the truth is hard to hear sometimes - This music is extremely simple.
@dougymoo Although I hate to admit it, I have to agree that there is some truth to your statement. When I first started watching their "Close My Eyes" music video, I didn't find the music to be that appealing, and then I saw that the the members had disabilities and felt somewhat obligated to appreciate it. Yes, their music is not the best in the media today, but we should definitely acknowledge their message that people with disabilities are capable of producing music.
good on them. but it is rather funny. but if they are proud of themselves, fine. good on them once again. but if they dont expect to get laughed at then they have set themselves up for failure.
What took me so long to find you all?! Better late than never. You guys are awesome, not just as musicians, or a fun band - but to help the world understand that disability doesn't mean you can't be happy and achieve great things . My 11 year old with Downs is a natural performer like Sam (was it?). I just had a glimpse into my future- i hope ;)
Yeah, I know the feeling, wiscsuzski, my 8 year old brother has Downs and stole the show at his end of year concert yesterday. His teacher saw the documentary and said to my parents that he's a mini Sam :)
I'm so proud of all of Rudely Interrupted for getting up and showing the world just how great they are. I hope sometime soon I can see them live :)
saw you last night at my graduation in box hill...
fantastic... Don't even need to comment on the 'dis' ability factor cause it doesn't even come into play, Rory love your voice, very placebo.. cheers!
very nice to see you making music! You played congas on a track (Decapitated)when we recorded our record at Razor's Edge... don't know if you remember me, but I always knew you were talented enough to start your own band. good luck to you and your bands mates & greetings from HeadCrash...
What is a 'disability'? Does it mean that we have something wrong with us? NO! I only found out about this band amongst the 'ashes' of Australia's worst ever disaster - the 2009 Victorian Bushfires. Sorry to hear that Marcus Stone lost his house, though.
I have Asperger's Syndrome, but I know there is NOTHING WRONG WITH ME!
