can you plz tell me what i must do to join this program.have as grades and i heard they have a scolarship where they pay for EVERYTHING in college.so any heads up on what they are looking for would be very helpful.
I want to major in computer science and information systems and get one of the AFROTC scholarships does det.910 allow CSIS under their technical major list? If you don't know the answer that is fine but could you maybe direct me to someone who would know? Thanks! Make more videos!
@PrimusCenturion Hey man, nice vid. How did you like SPU? I got in and am definitely considering it. Also, has Det 910 completely phased out of the BDUs? Do they only use ABUs now? just wondering... And also, how big is the detachment? like how man cadets? Thanks!
I was happy at SPU - it's a nice size school (though you inevitably have to cheer for UW if you're into college sports since SPU is so small). Good campus life, dorms make everything nice and close, and nice sized classes. I don't have any regrets.
I would guess Det 910 is only using ABU's now, but I can't confirm that. You'd have to call and ask them. It's about 150 cadets in size, but that ranges every year.
@PrimusCenturion Hey man, did AFROTC cadets have to participate in any swim exercises? I am asking because I will be attending SPU next year and will be in ROTC at UW and was just wondering because I am not an expert swimmer.
So I'm not in AFROTC yet but just wondering, do cadets usually alternate between the battle uniform and the flight one for certain weeks? Or is the BU the most commonly worn?
You'll be in Blues or PTU's for the first half of the year as an AS100 (Freshman) cadet, and then alternate between ABU's and Blues for the second half of the year... at least at Det 910. Other Dets could do it differently.
Cool, that's what pretty much thought. Are you still in AFROTC? What'd you like most about it and is Field Training really hard? Gotta ask that one because I'll be going probably next summer.
You'll go to Field Training between your Sophomore and Junior year unless you're doing a two year program. Some people like it better than others, but as long as you prepare for it you'll be fine. I got through it mostly unscathed. :)
@PrimusCenturion Hello! I have a question or you. Lets say I'm attending a community college for two years and a near by university is offering ROTC Gmc programs for cross town school's. But I plan to transfer to a AROTC university after my 2 years of community college. Will i attend Field Training after my sophomore year?
No it's not, my DET wears uniforms all day on LLab which is Wed, but when going to their academic AF classes, we only wear them to class. The uniform we wear for each one varies each week depending on if there will be briefings or a special event.
For the ABU, how do you tuck the bottom of your pants into the boots? Do you roll them up a little then tuck them in, or do you tuck them in just straight?
Part of it depends on what you are using to tuck them in. If you are using the "Worm" or wide-band boot blousers, you'll roll the bottom of the pants under the items so that they present a clean appearance and sit right at the top of the boot. If you are just tucking them in, I would suggest you try to make it as clean looking as possible, though it isn't ideal. Boot blousers are the way to go.

do they use the uniform at the beggining at AF JROTC??

@Allmaster125
As I understand it, it is optional however the ABU must be paid for and altered at the expense of the cadet.

I just added UW to my prospective college list. I hope to keep learning about detachment 910. Great video!

Cool! Remember that there are colleges close by as well that also participate in Det 910. I am an SPU grad, but SU is another participant.

I prefer the flight uniform...

@PrimusCenturion DET 895 Freshman don't have uniforms of any kind at this time, nor are BDU's being issued to the GMC as they're being phased out.

My DET wears dress blues on Tuesdays to Lead-Lab and ABUs on Thursdays. I'd image it's the same everywhere.
