  • If it makes you feel any better, Animal Antlers fall naturally off of animals. So the animals weren't hurt in the process. I only know this because my dog likes deer antlers for bone treats. I was told there that deer antler's fall off naturally and then they re-grow!

  • everytime i come back to catch up on ur video i smile. LOVE ur honesty :)

  • Great video! And hey, I really love how you are one of those (kinda few) people who look at the actual ingredients list!

I always find those really important, and totally share your reaction on Skinfood (though I appreciate less plant extracts b/c I react allergically to those much more than stuff from the lab) and the deer antler thing of the ChoBoYang line :/

I don't think the antler powder will have any skin benefits. Imo it's for the slogan &that's even less good, so I skipped.

  • I have to say that the few Laneige products I've tried kinda.....sucked...lol. I mean the peel worked, but there was something odd about the texture. Actually I take that back because their water sleeping mask is truly fantastic, but that's the only thing I would ever repurchase from the line. Well you know how I feel about antlers ;-) Gurl I'm telling you, you'll definitely find an eye cream out there that you love just as much. Next time you're at Sephora grab some samples of the 2 Shiseidos x

  • yeah, i got a free hug. ^^ <3

  • @MiwakoMona Wow! Good for you!! You know all the ingredients?!!!

  • @MiwakoMona PS: I wasn't being sarcastic. I really am in shock that you know all those ingredients.

  • @mrdizzybubbles i´m very inqusitiv person, and the internet is full of knollege.

  • OMG I finally found someone who had the same reaction to Naruko's Fundamental Serum. I love that brand so much that I stocked up like crazy because I could only get it in Singapore, but my skin went through a sensitive period & I just break out in rashes and itchiness when I use this serum & the Magnolia one. Sadness...I know how you feel about Naruko - want to love it but it didn't work for me.

  • @beautyboxonline You are not alone now! I thought I was alone too but several of my viewers commented on reactions from Naruko. I may try one more product from Naruko just to see if there was something specific in that product. Fingers crossed! :) I hope you're well!

  • U should tried ODBO product it is only sold KOREA!

  • @ClementineCutie Meant to say I "hate" most hand creams - not " hare" : p

  • @mrdizzybubbles My hands are also dry & I hare most hand creams. I have acne-prone skin & when I wear a thick cream on my hands, I'm terrified I'll accidentally touch my face & consequently break out. Anyway, yes! Would love some recommendations for hand cream. Your hands certainly look like you take good care of them : )

  • Ms Dizzy!!!! I have been WAY to MIA! Haven't missed one video, but when I leave a comment, I'll leave a proper one haha. MISS YOU! Love your new videos! Hope Holidays went well, and Happy New Year to you and your family :D! Just to say something on whitening, in order to see FULL whitening results, apparently the SA in Sulwhasoo told me you have to use the whole whitening line (which is hefty) but if it is necessary, its highly recommended! GLAD to see you!!! Give Popeye BIG HUGS *back to essay*

  • @mizzLebanese Hello mzzLebanese! Good to chat with you:0) I hope all is well. I rarely use the full line of anything so I may have a hard time with that SA's suggestion. But I suppose they are engineered to work together. Much love <3

  • Since you have really sensitive skin, you should probably steer clear of Skinfood products. They all have very high alcohol contents, and most don't really have as many natural ingredients as they make it seem. I'm planning to do a video on some Skinfood products that I totally hated >_< What the heck are vegetable worms lol???

  • @jazmineri Thanks for the heads up. I have a hard time tracking down ingredients lists for Asian skincare and Skinfood is no exception. I have NO CLUE what vegetable worms are. Doesn't sound like something one should rubbing around the eyes, hey?! XD

  • @mrdizzybubbles Sometimes I get lucky with finding ingredients' lists. I usually just put in the name of the product on Google, and I follow that with adding "ingredients" and sometimes I find product ingredients through other people who've listed them in their blogs. Other times I just take the risk, and find out the hard way (i.e. Skinfood lol).

  • I had a Laneige whitening moisturizer which also didn't whiten at all! And FYI the Laneige BB cream is heavily scented, in case you ever considered getting it. My friend picked one up for me but I haven't touched it a lot because of the scent. I have to admit I used to love Laneige products at the very beginning but I've grown a bit weary of them because they do not come with a full ingredient list! I don't feel that I should have to search for the list T_T

  • @gingersweet Thanks for the heads up about the fragrance in Laneige BB cream. I have a few Laneige products that I love but I'm disappointed with the last few that I've tried. Fingers crossed that those products don't get replaced with over-fragrance products that Laneige seems to be heading! :)

  • thank you so much for the reviews! it's really frustrating when a product doesn't work out or u end up allergic to it. esp w asian products since we can't typically return it like we can w something we got at sephora. makes me a bit more hesitant to try new asian skin care. and w the missha eye cream...i wonder if the product is sold in the US Missha since PETA here is all sorts of crazy abt stuff like that.

  • @top0903 Agree - nothing worse than having to throw things out. I try my best to give items away but sometimes it's just not possible. It would be interesting to hear PETA's response to the eye cream!

  • Deer antler (Lu Rong in pin yin or Cornu Cervi Parvum) still covered in velvet is a very important and expensive medicinal with many fakes because it is a very effective yang tonic. That said, I'm not sure Naruko's version involves this type since antlers naturally fall off in many deer during the fall. Having personally injested Lu Rong, I can vouch that it is very potent but note it is contraindicated for certain health conditions. As a topical, I can well understand your ethical concerns.

  • @bellesalvia Thanks for the background info:) I've heard that many Korean skincare products seem to include deer antler perhaps for the reasons you've suggested. I appreciate you taking time to share a bit of knowledge!

  • Great review, sorry the Naruko didn't work out for you! As far as the Missha, being a vegetarian it's so hard not to use this eye cream because I LOVE it so much and it works so well....I completely agree that we don't need to put animal ingredients into our products however a lot of products contain animal ingredients that you might not know about especially color cosmetics...carmine (crushed beetles/insects) lanolin (sheeps) Stearate/Stearic acid (pig, cow, sheep stomach) It's pretty gross!

  • @pdxbeautiful I must admit I was super-disappointed that Naruko didn't work out for me. But maybe another line or product?! Love the Missha eye cream too, but you def. raise a good point about how difficult it is to escape animal ingredients. I had no idea that stearic acid was made of pig, cow, and sheep stomach!! And that ingredient is in soooo many things that I use. Hm. Food for thought.

  • Really good review!

    Thanks for sharing!

    - I feel the same about animal ingredients in the skin care products...=(

    n_n

    S2

  • @Saranghamni Thank you:))

  • NARUKO didn't work for you?? wow, that is a pity. I love the skinfood rice pack a lot, I got like 5 pots from Korea Airport, haha^0^~ nice review as usual Drizzy~

  • @lovesweetcrystal Haha! I guess we have very different skin personalities! xD You are lucky that your skin is so resilient. Mine is sooo picky!

  • I'm sorry Naruko didn't work for you. I use products from a few of the lines they have and it took a bit of trial and error to find the right ones.

  • @Never2late4beauty Naruko has so many lines that I"m sure each product will work differently for me. I don't think I'm giving up on Naruko, I just have to be very cautious about which ones I try! :)

  • I really love the rational way, you review products. You do not only talk about their performance, but also about their ingredients. I think it's something too many people do not consider, when buying a product. Also, I like your honesty. When you don't like a product, of course you give reasons, but you are never offensive :)

Personally, I'd love to see a new fashion video, because I love your style! maybe something for spring, 'cause it's so cold in Germany... I need warm thoughts :D

  • @KanonsBass I appreciate your comment! I know some people aren't all that interested in a breakdown of the ingredients but I personally think it keeps my reviews focused on the products' effectiveness and not on marketing and buzz. It's very difficult to seperate ourselves from the power of marketing (and I'm certainly guilty of succumbing to fads sometimes!) but I try my best:) I haven't really purcahsed clothes lately but will be sure to offer a fashion video soon!

  • naruko products broke me out horribly!

  • @yiqi8910 Thanks for sharing that tidbit of info:) It's always good to hear others' perspectives.

  • You really are sensitive.Like,really sensitive.And that's good,isn't it?

By the way, absolutely love your nail color

Maybe in the future could you show us collections?(especially nailvarnishes,I would love that).Oh and care to discuss more about that animal issue?I really like the way you look at things

  • @LoveKameButterfly Yup!! Super-sensitive. Very annoying sometimes, but I've managed to work around the sensitivities for the most part. Thanks! The nail colour is Quo by Orly in a colour called First Class. SEems like so many of my viewers like it so I'll try to pick up a few and offer them in my next thank you gift/giveaway:)

  • Hi Dizzy, I really appreciate it that u gave some thoughts on the animal ingredients in some of the products. I appreciate your awareness and as a consequence I take your reviews much more serious than before. And beside this, your reviews are in general already very down to earth and honest. I like your 'less is more' attitude and style :) Keep up the good work :)

  • @ypeq I def. have tons to learn still....and haven't figured it out yet...but I hope that I come to an understanding that I'm comfortable with soon. Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement:) I try my best to be helpful and authentic and I'm happy that you can appreciate those qualities!

  • hahaha i agree with the naruko serum, it didnt work for my skin either. but since fuz swear by it i dont wanna give up too hahaha

  • @goodmorningkimchi I know exactly what you mean. I just couldn't accept the fact that my skin wasn't liking the naruko serum and I soooo badly wanted Fuz's skin! xD But alas, I must accept the reality:)

  • Like someone else said, I believe deer shed antlers, but I totally agree with you on not being sure about it. What polish are you wearing & would you do a hand care video?

  • @ClementineCutie I'm wearing Quo by Orly in a colour called First Class. My hand care routine is pretty nil, to be honest. And in fact, my hands are always terribly dry! haha! But I would be happy to share my favourite hand and body creams if that would be helpful:)

  • Thanks for the review =) I don't understand the heavy fragrance in skincare, it just doesn't make sense!

  • @MissCantarella I agree with you!!! I get that fragrance can be a way to invigorate your senses and there is quite a bit of research supporting aromatherapy...but I would choose non-fragranced items over fragranced ones any day!

  • I like the fact that you gave an honest opinion and told when product suck. Love ur videos!<3 Btw where's Popeya?(I don't know how to write his name)

  • @Veralzz Thanks! I try my best to give honest and upfront reviews. Popeye is living with my mother in law for a bit to keep her company. I must admit, I miss him dearly! :)

  • I imagine they "re-purpose" deer antlers & wouldn't kill them just for this eyecream. I only use vitamin E oil on my eye area & it works really well. In fact, *whispers* I'm going to be 30 soon but ppl never believe me so I attribute this to vitamin e ^_^

  • @honeybee519 Wow! 30 years old?!?! I would have never guessed. I suppose the combination of your youthful appearance and the fact that you're in school made me think you were quite a bit younger:) Lucky!!!

  • @mrdizzybubbles Haha, thank you but yes I'm old & I always feel like I'm hiding something xD Hope you're having a great week ♥

  • So happy to hear your thoughts on the Laneige! I just started using their products and found a great daily cream, the perfect renew. It is so light but extremely moisturizing! Definitely worth a try ;) And I definitely had the same thoughts on the Skinfood Rice Pack, it didn't really do anything for me. Made my skin soft the first time I used it then nothing really amazing afterwords, sad because I kind of high hopes for it :'(

  • @mkarger6 I will keep my eyes peeled for the perfect renew. I think Laneige makes some great products so I'll def. keep trying their stuff despite a couple of duds. Good to hear that I"m not alone on the skinfood mask - thanks for sharing!

  • I hope your eye area is getting better. I have similar experience before with the Elizabeth Arden Prevage eye cream (good thing it was only a sample size) which gave me peeling eyelids and under eye areas which hurt so bad and took more than 6 months to recover! These days I am very careful about eye creams..Currently using the Bodyshop Nutriganics one and so far no -ve reaction *fingers crossed* Hope u find something that is soothing for you, or try the Vitamin E Eye Cream from Bodyshop :)

  • @shalmw Oy....six months!!!?? I think it took me about 1 week or so to heal so I consider myself very lucky! Funny thing is that the Missha cream is filled with odd ingredients and I do just fine with it. The Laneige one, on the other hand, seems to have pretty basic ingredients and I have a reaction. Go figure! xD

  • @mrdizzybubbles yeah well its different strokes for different folks! that makes us all different and unique :)

  • See, this is why I love your reviews :) You're not afraid to be critical of a product :D Aaand I'm gonna look into that Curel sunscreen, am quite curious about it now since I'm also so sensitive to sunscreen :)

  • @Dottilicious Aw...thanks, Suzy! I try my best to just be honest and upfront - but hopefully never too offensive! xD Do let me know how you feel about the curel sunscreen if you get it! :)

  • Hi Dizzy :-)

Despite that a lot of gurus on YT rave about some things, when I try on me I'm always (99,99 % ) disappointed.

So I appreciate your reviews; it means I'm not alone. LOL

    Hugs to Popeye :-)

  • @cibiamin I hear what you're saying. I have such finnicky skin and I, too, find that things that others' love I tend to have problems with. I appreciate your support and encouragement! :)

  • about the antlers, I only found this out recently, deers shed their antlers every year. so there is no cruelty involved! the farm owners just pick them off the ground as they are shed. It's true!

  • @yellowbarch I just read about that too! They shed them seasonally so no cruelty needs to be involved, although I guess we cannot know for sure - some might kill them for other purposes (eg meat or for "fun"), but then sell antlers as a byproduct of their hunt.

  • @yellowbarch good point!

  • @yellowbarch Thanks for this bit of info! It gives me a good starting point to ask Missha about their production practices. :)

  • Thanks for being honest as always. I've decided to buy cruelty-free products so I understand where you stand. It's so hard to determine exactly what is the right thing to call "natural" (including animal products) cuz some things are considered medicinal. However, I peronally don't feel comfortable especially when it's used for beauty products. There are so many alternatives these days and my skin feel so much better using short list/understandable ingredients for both skincare & makeups:)

  • @yonaaaaaaful That's great that you've come to a point where you've decided to go cruelty-free. The more research that I do, the more I realize that there are soooo many things that we use - no just makeup - that includes animal byproducts. It's becoming increasingly difficult to know for sure! I appreciate your feedback and input and will def. consider your suggestion! :)

  • thank you for this review video!!!! it was very helpful~

would you be able to share a skincare video? your skin is flawless :)

  • @artichokeh34rts Aw. Thanks! I did a skincare video just recently (probably about a month ago) so perhaps do a search on my channel page? Cheers!

  • Deer antlers....??? Save the deer. We can get on with a few wrinkles.

  • @jumpaslot I hear what you're saying. There are so many options out there that I can always use another cream. Some of my other viewers make interesting points about the way deers shed their antlers but I suppose no one can ever know for sure.

  • Please do more haul videos! And a foundation routine video if possible! :P

  • @jus2pm I don't wear foundation. I wear concealer and my Korres setting powder. Sorry!

  • How much did u bought the laneige dual cream for?

  • @jus2pm Too expensive. Got ripped off from yesstyle. haha. I think around $50 CAD

  • Please do a holy grail products video!

  • @joannelm29 I recently did a favourite products of 2011 so hopefully that ties you over for now. I think an HG video is a great idea and I'll put it in my list of to dos:)

  • Oh, and I love how you've carefully examined your products' ingredients and drawn a line in terms of beauty/skincare ethics. I can relate with a similar experience. For christmas this year, I received the acclaimed BBC documentary, Planet Earth. In one segment of the docu. the production crew discussed the shocking disappearance of the vast herds of a type of wild Tibet deer in the 10 years since their last visit... I later found out that they were hunted for their wool, which gives us cashmere.

  • @feifus I try....but I totally accept and recognize that I have a ton to learn. It's such a complex issue and every source that I go to will offer a different argument and slant. At the end of the day, I suppose I need to just take a position and try my best. Thanks for watching and for leaving such a thoughtful comment. I don't think I've watched that documentary and will need to check it out:)

  • wth are vegetable worms? :P I agree with you about the struggle re:animal products. Koreans really like deer antlers. I am not sure why? I think it has medicinal properties of some sort. I need to do some research. I guess its kind of like how there are some beauty products out there that contain umbilical cord extract.

  • @SiLK1004 hahaha....I have no clue what vegetable worms are. Doesnt sound very appealing, does it. haha. Oy....umbilical cord extract! I have never heard of that before but I suppose the theory is that umbilical cords contain tons of nutrients. well, I can strike vegetable worms off my list so perhaps next is umbilical cord. haha....second thought, maybe not. xD

  • Hi Dizzy! I'm not last this time :) I've tried some korean whitening products and I too have never experience any whitening effects. I think koreans are obsessed with fair skin so they come up with all these whitening products. In general, I find they aren't moisturizing enough and I have oily/combo skin. I love that you check the ingredients! I have started reading what is in my skin products before I purchase anything. I've learned something from you! :D Thanks again for sharing and take care!

  • @SiLK1004 I totally hear what you are saying about the whitening fascination - not just in Korean cultures, but across most Asian countries. Aw...glad you have taken something away from watching my videos! That makes me very happy :)

  • Thank you for the reviews! They were really helpful. I've recently found a Korean cosmetics store in my city (Montreal) which sells a lot of these brands with comparable prices to sasa/imomoko without the shipping prices so I've been wanting to buy more Asian beauty products.

  • @feifus Ah....very lucky to not have to deal with shipping or crazy marked up prices. I have yet to find one! :)Thanks for watching and for kind comment:)

  • I like what you wrote in the info box. Many years ago, I can to a point in my life were I had to examine how my actions were effecting the things that I told myself I truely cared about: animals, the enviroment and my health. Needless to say, I have been a vegetarian ever since.

I think some deer shed their antlers everyear. So, maybe they are just using shedded ones in the cream.

I think it is good that you touched on this subject matter.

    Have a awesome week, Dizzy!

  • @uberaudioexperience It must have been a good feeling to land on a choice that you truly believed in. Im still working through this process. A few of my viewers have mentioned this shedding idea and it does put my mind at ease just a bit. But like one said, we never really know how the antlers are obtained. Hope you had a great weekend and enjoy your week as well!

  • Have you tried Bobbi Brown eye cream and moisture gel its a great product try ordering online at sephora then if u dont like it they give you full refund I wish they have an Korean online store like sephora its would be heaven to us kekeke

  • @MsCchappy I have not tried the BB eyecream. Read great reviews on MUA so perhaps one day I will bit the bullet and try it:) Thanks!

  • @MsCchappy I have not tried the BB eyecream. Read great reviews on MUA so perhaps one day I will bit the bullet and try it:) Thanks!

  • Hey there Omgosh I used that laneige whitening and also didnt work for me as far as my old pimple discoloration but I would recommend dior snow and also tried the Naruko thing bec of fuzkittie rave so much about it breaks me out I think its the lavender

  • @MsCchappy I am a bit relieved to see that Naruko didnt work for everyone. Seems like everyone I have come across loves the line. I will def. keep my eye open for the dior snow. Thanks for the rec! :)

  • Oh that sunscreen sounds like something that might work for me since it's alcohol and fragrance free. Does it give you a matte or light sheen effect? Do they come in different spf? You are the queen of sunscreens on YT. :)

  • @Enchanteralle I would say the curel gives a fair matte finish. Though it doesnt control oil so people with oilier skins might find that their skin gets shiny throughout the day. Thank you! :))

  • Hi Dizzy! Excellent reviews on the products and I'm so glad to hear your honest opinions about these products. It disappoints me that some products don't work out for me when 99% of the gurus on YT rave about it. The Skinfood rice mask did not work out for me. Smell was artificial and when I washed it off, the fragrance turned me off. Totally not natural - agree w/ you. Plus it dried me out. I wanted to make Laneige products work for me, but after trying some samples out, it's a no for me. :(

  • @Enchanteralle I agree with that feeling of dissappointment. I seem to be the odd ball out on products that work amazingly on others. I will just keep telling myself that Im special! haha! Laneige seems to be a hit and miss for me. The things that I love...I REALLY Love! But clearly I have faced some misses too.

  • @mrdizzybubbles You're not really an odd ball. Forgot to mention that Naruko didn't work out for me either. I tried the magnolia serum and after several nights, my cheeks turned a bit flushed. Smell was too floral even though they claim it's the natural ingredients' scent. The ingredient list was quite long meaning it contains lots of chemicals. So yes, I'm still on my journey to search for real natural/organic products that work for me. So far, the Pai moisturizer is HG for me!

  • thanks for the in depth reviews! you are always so awesome at describing the products. too bad most of the products didnt work out for your skin. hope you find some holy grail products! maybe do a holy grail product review?!?! <3 CHIE

  • @MakeupLAND2011 Hey Chie:) Aside from the products that gave me an allergic reaction, I sometimes wonder if Im just being too picky xD But I think we should have high expectations, right! :)) Hope all is well! Would be happy to do a HG video. Hugs!

  • you are such an genuine person! Just wanted to say that LOL. Love your videos! keep doing these!

  • @victoria3769 Aw...thank youso much. That is very kind of you to take the time to leave such a thoughtful comment! :)

  • And except from tea tree line ,they broke me out too.now I 'm ok with sk II essence & lancome genifque serum! But it costs me a lot ! I still can't find that work for me like them!

  • @angelwaiwai27 Aw..too bad Naruko didnt work for you either. Oh gosh...I hope I dont have to invest in SKII and Genefique! xD My wallet will not be impressed! :))

  • I hv combination skin , from naruko line only tea tree work for me but not that much work !XD

  • @angelwaiwai27 Ive heard amazing things about the tea tree line but Im a tad hesitant now that Ive tried the Narcissus. I will need to take a careful look at the ingredients but thanks for the heads up!

  • love your nail colour! :p

the curel sunscreen sounds good, I go to you for facial sunscreens lol

I love most of Naruko's products, quite effective and has helped to

even out my skin tone :) but I mainly use their tea tree line

  • @peachy9 Thanks! The nails are Quo by Orly in First Class:) Ive heard so many great things about Naruko and was very sad that it didnt work out for me. Darn sensitive skin! xD

  • can I ask what nail color you're wearing in this video? i've been looking for the perfect gold color with no luck. Thanks~!

  • @ladyjooo Im wearing a polish from Quo (Canadian brand). Quo teamed up with Orly and the colour Im wearing is First Class. Its a rose gold colour even though the camera shows more gold:)

  • Yeah, Naruko product doesn't work on me either. I have the same reaction as you...which is really sucky cuz I really wanted it to work. As for animal products, I don't like to use them because it's just too cruel no matter how well it performs (which is another sucky thing).

  • @Poohbieloo Im a bit relieved to know that Im not the only one that couldnt enjoy Naruko:) Thanks for watching and leaving a thoughtful comment!

  • I really do love the avocado eye cream from skinfood. It's not for anti-wrinkle purposes. But I do love it a lot. You get double the amount than the creamy avocado cream from Kiehl's and still at a fraction of the price. It's very moisturizing for me and my friend who has REALLY extreme dry skin.

  • @tifunny918 Thanks for the heads up about the avocado eye cream. I tried the Kheils one and found that it didnt spread or sink in. But Im ALWAYS looking for a good eyecream:) Thanks!

  • Animal Antlers? Hmmm, that's kind of weird.

Very informative - love your reviews thank you!

  • @romeydiaz77 Yeah....antlers...not sure what thats all about but Im really torn about it and dont know that I can repurchase despite the wonderful effect! What is your thought

  • Thanks for the review! It sucks that the Naruko product didn't work out for you. I've been trying out a lot of Missha's skincare products as well and I found myself hating all of them since they either broke me out or did nothing special. :[

  • @fatalshot04 I have never tried Missha skincare so I wasnt sure what to expect. Sorry to hear none of the Missha stuff is working out for you. Our skin has a mind of its own!! xD

  • can you plz do an updated skin care routine video for morning and night?

  • @SmileyTubby Hi! :) I recently did one - I think about a month ago so feel free to search my channel:) Thanks for watching!

  • you have the best skin ever!

    very informative ...science!

    Happy 7000!

  • @AllenGraph Thanks Allen! :) Very nice of you to say that!
