That younger male lion could be an offspring getting kicked out of the pride because he's gotten too old. It almost looked like that older lion was thinking, "This is going to hurt me more than you son."
@1MaGATOR Agreed, it was probably the best thing that could happen to that teen. If that is his father letting him know he needs to go out on his own, I believe it is probably the dominant lions way of telling the younger one to go learn how to be an adult. I couldn't help thinking "Poor baby" though. LOL.. He was terribly upset, I could tell by his roar.
@whatsgoingonthen its probably the father forcing him to leave because if that was an intruding male at his young age he would have been killed by that older male or wounded badly
imagine if the lions would be intelligence as us.. we wuld have been fucked up!.. they should like make a movie that is like planets of the ape, but instead planet of the felines.. that would be cool!..
Probably the male lion was kicking out his son...that's what fathers do...they kick out their son when its time to go...they have to be independent...hunt survive in their own...females opposite...males dont kick their daughters its the mothers job to kick their daughters lol...
@TnT187Choppa This is not a male and a female. Male's and females don't fight like this. Clearly the one that's against the ground has a mane that hasn't fully grown yet.
@TheThroney no he is only in a submissive position, low head, low body, ears bent back... he stating that he doesn´t want to fight but he in not dominant.
The video hass no actual context so I assume that either thats a cub that has reached 3 years of age and is being kicked out of the pride by his father or he is a nomad crosing though that older males territory... but thats just a guess
@Namewithnoname "whi is the other lion like just lying on the ground?"
He is being totally submissive so he doesn't get killed. Like so many posted here, he is very likely a young male sired by that very male. Time to go find your own females. This is natures way to prevent inbreeding.
This looks like the dominant male is kicking his son out of the pride. the one on the ground seems to be his cub but is at the age of maturity where he must leave and live on his own or form a coalition.
Not sure about whether or not either lion was new to the area, but the older lion had many facial wounds. Apparently these had been fighting for some time. I have some very close up photos of both lions if you would like them. I'll also post a quick movie showing the male faces
WoW!! very intense!! Did the guides/driver say whether this was a new lion to the area or not? Did you notice if the lion putting the other one in its place have all its teeth intact, or was one hanging or missing at the bottom'? Just trying to ID the lion. ;)
Yeap, father and son mostly likely.

It's 2male lions why does everyone think it's a female he's fighting
Lionsafari1 5 months ago
@Lionsafari1 Because the young male doesn't have a mane yet and so he resembles a female from the angle of this video.

Male lion: Bitch, make a move and I'll kill you!
Female lion: Give me another chance, I'm begging you. Please!
