Guilty. I don't see, if you read the books and saw the movies (which was edited to make them seem very innocent) that you don't feel in your gut that they killed those kids. Echols was a very violent teenager, and suicidal.
The FBI agent that examined this case said "...there was no evidence for Satanic ritual involvement in the killings and agreed with the post-mortem animal predation explanation for the alleged knife injuries." There was no DNA evidence, no murder weapon, no eyewitnesses, no bloody or muddy clothes ever found. There was police misconduct, police incompetence, juror misconduct, as well as judicial misconduct. One coerced "confession" from a person with a 72 IQ was all they had.
Damien was the ring leader. He was the oldest. They would go to the woods there and have pagan rituals, and get high and drunk. The kids were playing around the area and then they all raped and killed them and cut Stevie Branch's nuts and penis off. Echols, Baldwin and Misskelley didn't have any solid Alibi's. firstly, he claimed they had all bunked of school on the day of the murders. but in fact, jason baldwin had been in school. furthermore, miskelley first said the crime was committed in the morning (noon), then 3pm and finally changed his alibai to the evening...almost being guided by the police into giving this answer. finally, he mentions the children being sodomized, but we now know (with dna analysis) that rape did not occur.

I wasn't content making an opinion about their guilt or innocence based on a slanted documentary, and in order to be firm in my decision I read the Callahan files, never intending to come out thinking they are guilty. The Callahan file speak volumes. It has nothing to do with how they "looked"

The evidence was overwhelming in favor of a conviction. It was circumstantial, yes, but overwhelming. Jessie's confession was not coerced and the interrogation was NOT 12 hours. He confessed after two and a half hours of questioning.

I seem to recall that that a trace amount of sperm was collected at the scene of the crime. Does anyone know if any of the suspects have been tested for a possible match? Is such a test even possible?

I did not study the cas ein detail, that would be too much for me as ALL involved were very young. Unfortunately I have exspereinced the corruption against people in the justic system first hand, these courts, D A etc, would find a child guilty without reasonable doubt, deem they an adult and find them all knowing and competent, it's much like a sport : (

I wish that the myth of the 12 hour interrogation would end, too (though over the years it's become 14+ hours). In actuality he confessed after about four hours. He also confessed some four times and maintained his guilt to his own lawyers in the months leading up to his trial. Everyone ought to read his 2/17/94 confession.

They were released the DNA evidence on the bodies didn't match any of the 3, and of course the corruption of police who were profiling and arresting kids dressed in black. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE! They convicted those kids because they dressed in black and a confession from a minor who was mentally challenged.
@whydontyoushootme they pled guilty because it was an Alford plea u dumbshit...the state offered it to them because of the fact that if it had went back to trial they would have beat the charges....the plea is designed for the state to maintain that even tho the individual/s were innocent the state had sufficient, not enough to convict, but sufficient evidence to try them, thus saving the state from any legal action against them after this fiasco was over

@volhead49 They didnt plead guilty they entered an Alford plea which allows them to maintain their innocence while acknowledging that the prosecuters have enough evidence to convict them.

@MrCarbomer Terry Hobbs has changed his story repeatedly. Damien has constantly maintained his innocence. As far as finding evidence...A hair belonging to Terry Hobbs was found inside of the shoe string knot tied around one of the victims. This places him directly at the scene. David Jacoby, a friend of Hobbs, also had DNA at the crime scene which placed him there as well. Hobbs wasn't questioned by police until 2007, after this evidence was found...14 years too late. Why is he free?

He was facing death row at only 18 years old, he became a father but wasn't allowed to touch his son. He had to sit in prison while being labled a satanic, child molesting killer. No evidence was found linking him to the crime. He blew kisses to Pam Hobbs because she was screaming "faggot" at him as he was walking to the courtroom to appeal his sentence.

The West Memphis 3 are innocent. They did not kill 3 innocent children. When law enforcement LOST the only blood evidence possibly identifying the killer, they needed to put blame on someone to keep the public's fears at ease. In doing so, the lives of 3 men have been horribly changed forever and someone that killed 3 little boys is walking the streets free. Do you really think police would let the WM3 out if they really thought they killed those kids? No...they'd still be in prison!

I remember when all of this happened. I was only 7 years old, a year younger than the 3 little boys who were killed. It was scary for me to hear about it. At the time, my aunt was working at the state hospital where he was placed. I really don't know what to believe, but even if he and his friends didn't commit the crime, there is still something very strange about him.

They kept changing their story about where they were at the time of the murders. That's the crux of the case, in my opinion.

firstly, he claimed they had all bunked of school on the day of the murders. but in fact, jason baldwin had been in school. furthermore, miskelley first said the crime was committed in the morning (noon), then 3pm and finally changed his alibai to the evening...almost being guided by the police into giving this answer. finally, he mentions the children being sodomized, but we now know (with dna analysis) that rape did not occur.

I wish that the myth of the 12 hour interrogation would end, too (though over the years it's become 14+ hours). In actuality he confessed after about four hours. He also confessed some four times and maintained his guilt to his own lawyers in the months leading up to his trial. Everyone ought to read his 2/17/94 confession.

@MrCarbomer Terry Hobbs has changed his story repeatedly. Damien has constantly maintained his innocence. As far as finding evidence...A hair belonging to Terry Hobbs was found inside of the shoe string knot tied around one of the victims. This places him directly at the scene. David Jacoby, a friend of Hobbs, also had DNA at the crime scene which placed him there as well. Hobbs wasn't questioned by police until 2007, after this evidence was found...14 years too late. Why is he free?

He was facing death row at only 18 years old, he became a father but wasn't allowed to touch his son. He had to sit in prison while being labled a satanic, child molesting killer. No evidence was found linking him to the crime. He blew kisses to Pam Hobbs because she was screaming "faggot" at him as he was walking to the courtroom to appeal his sentence.

The West Memphis 3 are innocent. They did not kill 3 innocent children. When law enforcement LOST the only blood evidence possibly identifying the killer, they needed to put blame on someone to keep the public's fears at ease. In doing so, the lives of 3 men have been horribly changed forever and someone that killed 3 little boys is walking the streets free. Do you really think police would let the WM3 out if they really thought they killed those kids? No...they'd still be in prison!

To all of the haters: Yes, I agree he's a little weird, but just because someone is a little weird DOES NOT mean they killed someone. Even though he's on death row, you can tell that Damien Echols is a humble, polite, down to earth guy that wouldn't change anything that's happened despite being put in jail for a crime that he didn't commit. There's just so much wrong with this whole ongoing situation.

I remember when all of this happened. I was only 7 years old, a year younger than the 3 little boys who were killed. It was scary for me to hear about it. At the time, my aunt was working at the state hospital where he was placed. I really don't know what to believe, but even if he and his friends didn't commit the crime, there is still something very strange about him.

@MrPa1310, This case never went past the ARKANSAS Supreme Court. So in reference to this case and Damien, Jason, or Jessie the US Supreme Court or general US court ruling do not apply. This was Arkansas only. BTW have you researched what AR does to its prisoners. OMG!!!!
