John McCain probably still loses to Barack Obama if Tom Ridge is his running mate. But I'll bet you its a much closer, more competitive loss that doesn't elevate the embarrassing Sarah Palin into national prominence for the Republicans.

Ridge probably would have delivered Pennsylvania and would have helped more in Ohio. Palin was a detraction to McCain because she was a distraction (who ever heard of a VP candidate going rogue).

They could start by paying attention to reality and the truth, this appears to be a major challenge for them.
