I had the exact same thought...DQ2 came out in 1987 originally, and Little Nemo wasn't out until 1990...given how popular DQ is in Japan, I'm sure it was a direct influence on Nemo's composer. Both have timeless music in my opinion!

I find it funny, that in the first DQ game, there are battle backgrounds, but in the other three for NES, all the battle backgrounds are, is blackness, why? Cheaper to make perhaps?

1:30 sounds like Little Nemo. I think they should of kept the scenery battles instead of switching to a black background.

I think they shouldn't have changed the world music after you get the Princess in your party. Instead they could have used this lighter music for some of the towns, or maybe the sea?

BTW, the remake of the Alefgard world music sounds incredible in this game. I just wish that Alefgard had been more expansive and detailed here.

I always hated the "search" action. It was annoying and somewhat unnecessary. It was in several RPG's back then, but this one just reminded me of it.

I loved the music of the Dragon Warrior series though.
