There was no segment where Moyers is electrocuted! LOL I own the entire episode. He only says that Shi "trembles." There is a part in the episode where he does get a real Qi Gong demonstration at the hospital. That part is real. This is foolishness. The teacher I know says americans are always the easiest to believe these tricks.
Actually, the entire program, i think it was called, "...Healing" i forget the exact title, they do show Bill get shocked or burned by personally putting his own hand in front of the Chinese man's fist without even touching it. Then the master dude 'emits' his 'chi' into Bill Moyer's hand & wouldn't you know it, instaneously Bill yanks his own hand away in pain and surprise. He then said something like this, "...hot/burning". I wish I could remember the title.
It was a documentary of Eastern and Western medicine. It had footage of brain surgery with acupuncture needles instead of anesthetics (but the patient was a little doosie from some relaxing agent they gave him so it really shouldn't count imo). the patient had to be awake during the proceedure because they had to ask him questions about his sensations as they operated. It disturbed me a little. Also, there were some 'chi' healing doctors.'Docs' standing around & waving their hands over patients.
... all that we can say for sure is that if wang peisheng wasn't a figment of my imagination he would have killed that guy in beihai park, and blew up the tank and the protestor from that famous tiananmen square video.

How come you didn't post the entire segment. You didn't include the part where Bill Moyers gets electrocuted (i didn't know how else to put it...sorry) by the old master shr. It might help clarify the situation from people who did see the whole episode and thus save you and othe readers a butt load of time. Now i will have to look for the entire clip! Hope it's on Youtube somewhere.

Shr, surely there will be doubts about your claims about him. So do us all a favor and post some info. i really want to know who the fakes are. Apparently he did something impolite and was dismissed. He is very well known in that area for pulling these stunts. His students are all participating with him. I am so sure of it that I will take on Master Shi right now! LOL Believe me, Qi Gong is real, but this guy is not!
Look, these students commit themselves for 3 yrs to this guy...they're basically putty in his hands at that point. You will notice that none of these "masters" ever perform these demos on anyone but their loyal followers. As a doctor of Chinese medicine, I know that people can be effected by qi, but nothing has ever prompted me to believe in this type of stuff...

I study Tai Chi and although I can feel chi and acknowledge the enourmous power that can be emitted through the correct stance I 'd like to see the master move me in that manner.I find I can move new students quite easily because I can move their centre of gravity.Its nothing out of this world just a question of balance.
this isnt taiji- its called qigong. though we say taiji is also qigong it refers to the general branch inclusive of acupuncture and such. but this is the practice of qigong or the manipulation and projection of qi- different from taiji.
