And I have no clue who said that their selection process is so long and hardcore and in accordance with which statistics this assumption was made. There are units within various armies where the selections are so hard people sometimes don't make it alive or can become crippled like in the Israeli Yamam or Russian Red Berets.

The royal marines are the best in the world for a reason , and the green beret is feared by all that see it. both are very highly trained so there is no point in arguing but i would point out that you cannot possibly have better training than the royal marines because of 3 reasons: the attrition rate of new recruit RM's is about 75%, we have a longer period for training than any other NATO force and what you are seeing there is what the RM's call fun.....

I spent 12 years in the Royal Marine Commando's, during that time I took part in many training initiatives alongside the US Rangers, S.E.A.L's and your Marines including force recon and never rateD them. A US Ranger oesnt even yomp out as far as a Royal Marine Commando..we do 30 miles across rough terrain, at pace, carrying 55lbs of bergen wight alone, around 80-100lbs by the time ammo, webbing and weapons are factored in.
We're required to do 15 miles with 80lb + ammo and weapons (LMGs, GPMGs, Mortar tubes, M2 HMGs...) When we "yomp" we actually hike to win a fight, not to run away from it with only our kit and rifle.
@Sturmmann Unlike you we do the 3 miler in combat boots and webbing etc. Your sit up tests are for a minimum of 50 if you are aged up to 26, then 45 between 27-45 and 40 if your aged 46+. Your 3 mile run is to be done in 28 mins or less if your aged upto 26yrs, 29mins between age 27-39, 30mins if aged between 40-45 and 33mins if aged 46+. Crunches as per those age ranges are from 50 down to 40 depending on age. So again..BUSTED.

I'd also now like to point out that a USMC rifleman does 12-13 weeks basic ( and then does 79 days, so arounddd 11 weeks...11 and a half weeks, rifleman training..?? thats less or about the same as our basic Army infantry carry out for basic training...they do 24 weeks. the closest a royal marine shoots in the standing during his annual rifle qual is 50m. The closest any US Marine shoots is 200yds on a smaller target IN THE STANDING.
The farthest you shoot is 330yds, the farthest we shoot for score is 500yds.
Then besides that we do a night course that includes kneeling at 300yds in pitch dark with optics and lasers.
@Sturmmann 20 pull ups is for a maximum score on the pull ups so dont lie, I called a guy i servd alongsie in laskah gah Afghanistan and he confirmed that. The furthest we shoot during APWT's is 400 meters and out to 800 on troop sustained PW, We do plenty of night shooting, we do a 3 miler as well at speed carrying 55lbs of kit, thats near on sprinting pal, The authorized uniform for the semi-annual PFT is the USMC established green-on-green T-shirt and shorts, socks, running shoes

More Us troops have died than UK in the recent conflicts, im not debating on who is better trained (Im from UK and currently in proccess to join RM....still need to get much fitter as u can tell from me being on youtube lol) but america did send in more troops so that would count as a factor of why they may have more KIA but at the end of the day alot of you are using the loss of human lives to bicker over who has best army, can we have a little respect please.

@fallout401 hospital corps attached to the 3rd battalion sure how many tours have you done? france controls our country? no its a joint team work we control them as much as they control me because we dont control each other it means we are working very closely, i'v done 2 tours of afghan in the royal engineers i have served with 33rd engineer regiment, 7th battalion the rifles attached to 3rd Battalion The Rifles Battle Group, i have served with US soldiers which we got on well with.

The BRITISH Army [UK is more than one country you fat fuck],is much better trained,and boot camp takes 14 weeks with much higher standards,the AmeriCANTS can't even beat the Iraqis,who are armed with 70 year old weapons,and have no training. @MadamKouassi bigger millitary better weapons vehicles and aircrafts but not trained soldiers USMC are equivelant to british army training, MARINE is an acronym "Muscles Are Required, intelligence Not Expected" yet to join the royal marines apart from being a very fit person fitter than a US marine you have to be very smart that is why we win, US go for upper body training to get a six pack and look hard we just get the job done.

I spent 12 years in the Royal Marine Commando's, during that time I took part in many training initiatives alongside the US Rangers, S.E.A.L's and your Marines including force recon and never rateD them. A US Ranger oesnt even yomp out as far as a Royal Marine Commando..we do 30 miles across rough terrain, at pace, carrying 55lbs of bergen wight alone, around 80-100lbs by the time ammo, webbing and weapons are factored in.

@Sturmmann Unlike you we do the 3 miler in combat boots and webbing etc. Your sit up tests are for a minimum of 50 if you are aged up to 26, then 45 between 27-45 and 40 if your aged 46+. Your 3 mile run is to be done in 28 mins or less if your aged upto 26yrs, 29mins between age 27-39, 30mins if aged between 40-45 and 33mins if aged 46+. Crunches as per those age ranges are from 50 down to 40 depending on age. So again..BUSTED.

@Sturmmann When we do exercise hunters moon , at night, for 3 days, we cover an average 50-80 miles only moving at night. I'd also now like to point out that a USMC rifleman does 12-13 weeks basic ( and then does 79 days, so arounddd 11 weeks...11 and a half weeks, rifleman training..?? thats less or about the same as our basic Army infantry carry out for basic training...they do 24 weeks. Im not even going to waste my time with you now you have been well n truly sussed out. civi

While I have nothing but respect for the American troops i've operated alongside, they certainly do not carry out as tough a training course as we do in the Royal Marine Commano's. Our basic is 34 (used to be 32) alone. US Marines do 12 weeks, an for example, carry out conditioning marches going from 3 to 9 miles carrying 22lbs of kit?? Get the fuck outa here, you been exposed. I trained up to the level of Marine rifleman and had to go through 30wks before getting to my unit. In that time I shoot 40% farther than any british infantryman and ran PFTs that went 1.5 miles farther. Youre the one spreading crap.
Your PFT is 1.5 miles, our is 3..
Your rifle qual = 300m, ours 500yds daytime

the closest a royal marine shoots in the standing during his annual rifle qual is 50m. The closest any US Marine shoots is 200yds on a smaller target IN THE STANDING.
The farthest you shoot is 330yds, the farthest we shoot for score is 500yds.
Then besides that we do a night course that includes kneeling at 300yds in pitch dark with optics and lasers.
Did I already mention our PFT is 2x tougher?

@Sturmmann 20 pull ups is for a maximum score on the pull ups so dont lie, I called a guy i servd alongsie in laskah gah Afghanistan and he confirmed that. The furthest we shoot during APWT's is 400 meters and out to 800 on troop sustained PW, We do plenty of night shooting, we do a 3 miler as well at speed carrying 55lbs of kit, thats near on sprinting pal, The authorized uniform for the semi-annual PFT is the USMC established green-on-green T-shirt and shorts, socks, running shoes

The guy i spoke to , to do a little digging is stationed in NC and we have stayed in touch since serving in Helmand together. USMC's basic is 12 weeks according to the site
