  • @Uwohilatlitigv i try to explain to them that by inventing history they only show that they are ashamed of their true history. it just amazes me how they dig themselves deeper and deeper. its sad when a people go through such lengths to not look at themselves in a mirror. but...i guess i would be ashamed too! haha

  • @yien I'd be jealous too. We have awesome history. All of it without committing genocide even once. We never had a crusade, never used disease as a weapon, we created the number 0, were performing brain surgery (the Inca's and Maya were doing that), and our staple crop, corn, is the most widely used food in the world. In fact, we were one of the first people to genetically alter a plant to make a better crop. We kind of win on a massive level. lol

  • @Uwohilatlitigv yea, now that you mention it, whites are kinda parasitic. they feed off of other groups. never actually able to create things on their own. they just kinda feed until all is dead and then find another host.

  • @yien Case and point, Sun Tzu created most tactics of war (he was Chinese) and without gunpowder (also Chinese) whites would be nowhere. And when it comes to things concerning education (like college for example), the first one was in Timbuktuu. Which deep in Africa. XD I could go on and on... We could have given them credit for creating democracy, but the Kononsio:ni already had it before contact when the Peacewalker brought the nations together. So... I'm at a loss for ideas...

  • @Uwohilatlitigv yea...i am trying to think of something...anything...that white ppl actually did WITHOUT another race. i can't think of anything...haha! well, except small pox of course! and probably prison.

  • i love how they use a white woman as a re-enactor for an indian woman. i wonder if mount vernon's slave re-enactors are white people in black face?

  • @yien Not all people of Native descent (or even FBI's (Full Blooded Indians) are of darker skin. I am mixed blood of Pamunkey/Ojibwey/Lakota ...and I am quite pale. It is my understanding that they hire Pamunkeys for the re-enactments..and we are not dark as a whole.

  • @mynameisxena i'm sorry, but historic reenactors should look the part. that is the whole point of a historical reenactment. if you speak your language & was raised in your culture then having some pale skin does not take away from all that. east coast indians have euro blood and not always by choice. but if you are representing natives from back in the day then look the part or find another job. it is not acceptable to dress up as any other race except ours...CONTINUE...

  • @mynameisxena ...CONT'D...& i'm pretty sure the pamunkey aren't the reenactors @ jamestown. there is 1 mattaponi mixed family & the rest r white ppl that study ndn's from books. white ppl steal everything from ndn's, including culture. they try to learn the powhatan language & even try to dance @ powwows so that they can "out-indian" indian ppl. being ndn in public bears a responsibility cuz they represent us. u obviously have no understanding of VA NDN history or u would understand.

  • @yien I'm Pamunkey and I have family that live in that area. I very much resent you telling me I don't know about my OWN PEOPLE. Now go away, you are not worth talking to any more.

  • @mynameisxena i grew up there my whole life. your comment shows that you don't get our unique experiences here in VA. you can be insulted if you want, it is what it is. if the shoe fits, wear it, but if its too tight take it off. Tan KeNaWan? Nir NeNaWam. Sa MaTaKweNaToRađ PaMunKi? you say you know the pamunkey are there but they aren't...don't get mad at me because you don't know. not my fault you aren't with your "OWN PEOPLE" NeTaup. go back to playing indian online, or be a re-enactor.

  • @mynameisxena if you don't reply i'll just consider you put in your place and no hard feelings NiTaup.

  • I mean pure and simply, moving around....being in positions when movement was necessary and critical to survival. What ever that might have meant for Powhatan peoples.

  • See AMONSOQUATH BAND OF CHEROKEE for the Powhatans in Missouri.

  • STALK: Not sure of your point, but agree that the Powhatans did a lot of migrating. My relatives are from Virginia.

  • @Lochee1000 ....Migrating? Do you meant FORCE migrating?

  • @stalkingbear777 amonsoquath band of cherokee?? for real?? they are wannabe tribe. "amonsoquath" isn't a cherokee word, it is a powhatan word. they are not recognized by any of the cherokee or powhatan tribes. & powhatan.org from NJ moved up there like 50 yrs ago and ARE NOT the "powhatan tribe". they are a random group of ppl from VA that adopted the name "powhatan". the "powhatans" are a collection of tribes that are still in VA.

  • @yien Still arguing with pretindians? lol Keep up the good fight! *salutes*

  • @Uwohilatlitigv haha..."pretindians"...i am gonna have to steal that one! haha!

  • @Uwohilatlitigv i don't know how i ended up back on this video...it was random i swear! i went and looked down the list and saw i was hear before. haha! it seems the crazy ppl stay on the indian videos...then i find myself there trying to stop them! haha!

  • @yien At least they don't seem like those truly irritating New Age people. -_- I HATE those people... Especially when they try to defend a culture vulture like Little Grandmother Crowther (or something like that). Have you run into any of them yet? lol

  • @Uwohilatlitigv i usually run into these euro-centric or afro-centric nut jobs that claim either whites or blacks were here first and indians came and killed them all. they advocate just killing us all. those new age ppl want to steal everything and claim it as their own. we can't win! haha! all of them want to take everything either way. then you got these "cherokee g'ma" and "related to pocahontas" crazy ppl that got an "indian name" from jesus. i think they are all mentally disturbed.

  • @yien I'm quite aware of the Solutrean flop and the black Olmec non-sense. XD You'd think they'd have a little evidence (that hasn't been dis-proven) to back up their outrageous claims if there was any to be had by now. However, we see no evidence and therefore they should just accept that they are all illegals on our land, guilty of genocide in every aspect of the word.

  • See POWHATAN.ORG for the Powhatan Renape Nation in New Jersey.

  • Hi, I am Powhatan/Rappahannock/Chickas/African, glad to see something on the Virginia Natives.

  • i miss jamestown

  • the powhatan Indians had no written language. there is no right way to spell her name. hence the several english spellings that can be found. in the early 1600s the english language had very loose spelling rules anyway so it's all good. the powhatan weren't a tribe, they were a paramount chiefdom consisting of many tribes including the 7 that still exist today.

  • i like how everyone claims to be powhatan so they can be affiliated with pocahontas. the powhatan tribe doesnt really exist anymore as a full.. its pretty much divided into other groups now.. like mattaponi, or pamukey (holla for my peeps!) or blackfoot.. etc. so if you belong to one of those, then yeah, you're probably related to pocahontas

  • The proper spelling is Pamunkey......you would know that if you were affiliated with that tribe in any respect. Also i think that woman is demonstrating how the Powhatan Indians lived, and therefore not trying to mis-represent.

  • okay, so i made a typo. i know it's spelled *pamunkey, i just forgot to type the 'n' when i wrote that comment apparently.

    who cares?

and I never said the woman wasn't demonstrating how the powhatan's lived..

i was referring to the comments below mine where people can't even spell pocahontas' name right but yet are claiming to be related to her.

  • @sweetnothings7 ..I'm certified Powhatan Renape and I'm not saying it to be affiliated with anyone. She was just a person just like me(A princess, but still a person)

  • @Spyder8561

i'm sorry but we didn't have princesses.

  • @yien First of all who is WE? Second, If she was the daughter of the Chief then why can't she be called a princess?

    Chief.... KING...what's the difference?

  • @Spyder8561

"WE" is Powhatan's people, descendents of Powhatan, tribal members from tribes in Powhatan's empire...considering the title of the video is Powhatan Indian Woman i just assumed that it was understood who "WE" is.

and the daughter of a chief and the daughter of king (princess) are very different. a princess implies hereditary title and even power which was no the case. "princess" is an english term that simply is not correct because it does not exist in our political structure .

  • @yien Come on now....you know what I mean...Did you have to get so technical? Everyone knows it's a English word. I'm just saying that she was the daughter of the most powerful person in the tribe. If you know the Powhatan word or term for the daughter of a Chief (King) I'm all ears.

  • @Spyder8561

you are missing the point, not that it is an english word but an english title. the concept is english. she had no rank and a princess does have rank. she could give no orders. if you need a powhatan word i guess you can say Ah’NuhTaNuhs which only means "his daughter". my point is that our identity is not based on theirs. of course you can use english words to desribe non-english but not english concepts. would you call a buddhist monk a preacher? different roles. same language.

  • I have powhatan blood so im related to Pocohantis

  • im powhaten

  • Well this is nice. I believe I am Powhatan too (Pocohantas) but also Cherokee. Some of the tribes didnt get along.
