Later one of them gets attacked and killed by the monster. The only ones alive run under a bridge and then are buryed alive.

In my opinion, i think that this movie was suppose to depict the 9/11 attacks. While watching this movie that was the only thing going through my mind. The attack on the building, the people screaming, that giant dust cloud, it's just all I could think about that whole time.
The idea and first 30mins of this movie was amazing. But this movie dropped the ball.. if it pulled a "Blair Witch" and NEVER revealed what was causing the destruction, it would have made this movie 10000x better.
About ten minutes of the film reminded me of 9/11. Rob's testimonial at the end reminded me of the 'Blair Witch Project'. The movie seemed like a lower-budget, but far superior version of Spielberg's 'War of the Worlds', the monster's close-up at the end was reminiscent of the 'Alien' quadrilogy, and the whole thing was a modern take of 'Godzilla', much like 'The Host'.
But this movie kicks all the others' ass. But not the event known as 9/11, of course.

Good movie. However there was a few mistake: 1: the statue of Lib head is way to small the real one u can walk inside of and 2: the building that collapses when they walk onto the street is the Empire State Building but as soo as u see the Liberty hear on the ground u can see the Empire State Buildings lights in the back round.
Nay, the Empire State Building has three outside floors on the roof, this one is I believe the one around Central Park, I have no idea, :P But I am guessing it is Northwest of the Statue of Liberty

mediocre movie with the gimmick of a moving first person POV to sell it. Not too impressive. The shaky camera isnt even a problem, its the fact that it was overdone and every movement, especially excessive facial reaction shots (when a more pressing and obvious shot of the monster or action was available), seemed forced and fake.The acting was also lame. I know it was supposed to be realism but the characters were not very believable nor likeable. It was fun to see the characters get killed off.

omg i just heard something/. ther are theories that the first building falling down is a depiction of the 9/11 twin towers bombing. at 1:35, you hear a girl sya "do you think its another terrorist attack?

In my opinion, i think that this movie was suppose to depict the 9/11 attacks. While watching this movie that was the only thing going through my mind. The attack on the building, the people screaming, that giant dust cloud, it's just all I could think about that whole time.

The idea and first 30mins of this movie was amazing. But this movie dropped the ball.. if it pulled a "Blair Witch" and NEVER revealed what was causing the destruction, it would have made this movie 10000x better.

About ten minutes of the film reminded me of 9/11. Rob's testimonial at the end reminded me of the 'Blair Witch Project'. The movie seemed like a lower-budget, but far superior version of Spielberg's 'War of the Worlds', the monster's close-up at the end was reminiscent of the 'Alien' quadrilogy, and the whole thing was a modern take of 'Godzilla', much like 'The Host'.
But this movie kicks all the others' ass. But not the event known as 9/11, of course.

this movie was stupid. Forget the shaky camera, that's just personal preference. But the whole thing felt like a gimmicky, trying too hard, short on story, way too long viral video style, annoying and best forgotten characters, not too original, blair witch riding waste of film. SO there!

the movie sucked!! the camera kept on moving up and down falling to the ground moving here and there!! it sucked, but the movie was alright though, i just wished they used another camera besides the one they used.... and the end sucked. =]

Good movie. However there was a few mistake: 1: the statue of Lib head is way to small the real one u can walk inside of and 2: the building that collapses when they walk onto the street is the Empire State Building but as soo as u see the Liberty hear on the ground u can see the Empire State Buildings lights in the back round.

Nay, the Empire State Building has three outside floors on the roof, this one is I believe the one around Central Park, I have no idea, :P But I am guessing it is Northwest of the Statue of Liberty

1 the building goes down after the head hits the ground and are still on just as it comes down 2 its not the empire building wrong street u can see the empire when the explosion happens a couple of streets from there building

mediocre movie with the gimmick of a moving first person POV to sell it. Not too impressive. The shaky camera isnt even a problem, its the fact that it was overdone and every movement, especially excessive facial reaction shots (when a more pressing and obvious shot of the monster or action was available), seemed forced and fake.The acting was also lame. I know it was supposed to be realism but the characters were not very believable nor likeable. It was fun to see the characters get killed off.

lol at the end where the monster eats hud if u pause alot of times when the monster is eating hud u can see a leg and a shoe its freaky just pause when u get there and u see the leggs in the montsers mouth its diturbing for me to watch when i pause lol

i agree!the shaky camera would not have been annoying if the stupid Hud would stop shifting the camera from the action to his buddies' facial reaction to the movie.Who does that?! even the video of those Florida teens who beat up that one girl focused on the action AND was WAAAAY more steady than Cloverfield's camera. Maybe that was the point, to annoy us with the characters so that we'll feel some gratification when they finally die.The best moment was when the stupid camera WAS killed off...

Cloverfield sucked ass. Every time the guy got a good shot of the monster he turned the camera 180 degrees so you could look at that asshole Rob and his whiny girlfriend. I wanted everyone to die.
