Favourited again and again and again and again IIIIIIII drive in my car like a queen on a card and a gun of my mind aim a line straight at his heart that is broken trying to feel but it choked I can't believe these tears are mine I'm walking along with my boots full of rocks somethings always missing
mr beck, thank you so much for this amazing musical creation that captures this empty place inside, a loss beyond my minds comprehension, always missing
Always thought Guero was his most underrated album. Fresh, consistent, diverse, such quality about it. At first E-Pro and Girl really done it for me, but the more I listened, the more I became absolutely hooked on this and Earthquake Weather. There's such a vibe about them, that style of repetition that's not grating, just hypnotic. He knew what he was doin, the champ.
Irrespective of genre, there simply exist certain musical compositions that, by any measure, stand the test of time. We call these pieces, 'Classics'.
This song is credited to Vinicius de Moraes and Eduardo Lyra, two great Brazilian lyricists/musicians, and I for the life of me cannot find the 'original' compositions, or Vinicius' lyrics. Is there anyone here who could help me out here?
its so good, i hadnt listened to beck in ages and had forgot just how amazing he is! Im all over this and sea change at the mo! His best albums i think

can you hear the short sound that clearly does not belong in this sound? damn near spoils it for me. why isn't it missing, eh. it doesn't start till 0:12 then again at 0:14 then 0:17... it's like a skip in a record. if someone has the wherewithal to remove it you'd be much appreciated by more than me, thanks
@LukeKlitwalker: Of course, or it wouldn't be there. But surely you've seen typos in finished, published texts (books, articles...). This is just a tick that wasn't edited out. Simple as that, a la Sesame Street: One of these things is not like the others; one of these things just doesn't belong; can you tell which thing is not like the others by the time Beck finishes this song? Apparently not, eh
@LukeKlitwalker But it's one of those "one of these things doesn't belong" from Sesame Street. And for my ears & discernment it is that simple that little recurring blip is the piece that should be missing. Peace
I always felt the vocals on this song were ace, but didn't match the tone on the music. I think the remix by Air really nailed it. Plus, any song that has Beck's dad arrange strings for it always sounds amazing.

I love this song. It has a similiar chord and singing pattern as the song Big Lie Small World by Sting. That's one reason I love it more

The lyrics are amazing, it just hurts me that they didn't come up with an ACTUAL rythm to it.
