They both pushed to their limits in both of their sports, but I don't think Chris Hoy has really been praised as much as he should've been for his efforts. Great discussion for me this as im a cyclist who loves F1, Hoy and Hamilton are both legends and have both made an enormous impact in sport. I voted for Lewis but i was so fuckin proud that Hoy got it, partly because cycling hasnt had the recognition it deserves, but mostly because what Hoy has achieved would be kinda like Lewis winning in DTM, then going over to WRC and winning, then going over to F1 and winning again. Hamilton is at the start of his career, Hoy only has a few years left.

GP4 is NOT an easy game, especially with the driver aids off. If it really is like driving a real F1 car (only without the G forces, and bumpy ride) I probably wouldn't live through a race in a real F1 car :)

GP4 is a walk in the park mate. I played it for several years and i quit because it wasn't the real thing. The car is WAY to stable (in any aspect) and cerbs, bumps in the road havent got the slightest effect. This lap for example wouldv been pretty bad in a real car, or rFactor for that matter

I have actually (this was just an experiment with the original track and my own physics). I will post a video sometime, but the mod is just not fun :( (despite the fact the times are realistic).

yes i do, with a descent steering wheel. i use mariodc's phyics and performance which results in fairly realistic times. with gp4, you should also use updated track .dat files too (with updated magic data) for realistic computer controlled cars too. updated to 2007 settings no way can you get 1.15, but its still heaps fun!

I know how you feel, but everyone loves a conspiracy theory, and more often than not, its incorrect. In this case, Hamilton had a gearbox glitch whereby he changed down whilst accidentally pressing neutral button (on the top right of his wheel) as he was radioing into his pitcrew. To come out of this mode he merely had to change down a gear... and he did this 25 secs later.

Yes, and I agree, but this game (for me anyway) still provides the best F1 game on the market, and I still choose to play this game if I want an F1 bash. I like the 1979 mod on rFactor, aswell as the Meganes... and my fave track on rFactor happens to be Varano. I still like GP4, even though I admit that rFactor is the better game.

Actually, thats only what you see with the hands - it turns 20 degrees on the game, which is nearly the same as F1 cars around Loews corner, in Monaco (tightest corner in F1) - which in real cars is 23 degrees or something. The wheels turn much more, as you will see on the final bend.

OK! I had this problem to start with. You need ZAZ GP4 tools (CSM (carset manager) and TSM (trackset manager)). D/L these, and you can manipulate .cuh and .tup files easier than manually inserting the files. They are only recgonized by ZAZ tools.

2) Firstly, you have downloaded a high-res carset. In the graphics menu, choose manual settings, and change the car texture detail to HIGH. See if that works and come back to me.

Well, I installed different versions of Fraps (from different sources - earlier today) and when I try to launch it nothing happens. I restarted my PC and the problem persists. My OS is XP SP 2... What can it be?? :(

Fraps company has prevented multiple Fraps to be used on one account, so those who upload their legal copy and those who sign in using that username with more than one copy cannot use it.

Older versions dont have this feature! So try a much earlier version of Fraps :D.

Well for a start, you need a .rar unpacker software (I use altap salamandar). Then open the 4 .rar parts and replace the files in the grand prix 4 folder with those from each of the 4 parts. Salamandar is great because you have two panels, where you can simply drag and drop accross...

I finally cracked the first sector, dont you think? That cannot be improved...

The second sector was OK, there is not that much to do. I missed the apex at Club, but never mind.

Then, in the third sector, small mistakes added up to perhaps a couple of tenths...

I reckon half a second can be made up.
