I listen to Savage and agree with his views on the politics of hollywood, but I just see Curb as an entertaining show. Larry David is a really funny guy and when humor is involved, I personally just like to kick politics aside.
However, I couldn't agree more with Savage's point regarding Islam; you're not going to see anyone openly poking fun or criticizing it. I wouldn't put the blame on Larry David for that though. Society in general is very sensitive when it comes to Islam. Oh, irony.

I've never thought of Seinfeld and David as being Jewish - it is not the most important thing about them. In Seinfeld, the only Jewish character is the least neurotic of the lot.
David was brought up in a Xtian/Jewish culture; mocking Islam would make no sense as he is not steeped in it.

@itzahazylife - It isn't "comedic," there is a veneer of condescension and looking down on anyone who doesn't share the worldview projected by David and, by extension, HBO. Not to mention an overall mean-spiritedness in their tone. Steve Allen once said that people who appear on TV shows were like a guest in the home - and in that context, David is the equivalent of someone who urinates on one's potted plant in the living room or defecates on the living room carpet.
