  • being against gay marriage is not "hating gay people" or saying they cant love each other. the term marriage is biblical just as this country is and therefore the term should not be used. civil unions is just another word for it and it grants the rights same sex partners have sought after.

  • hmmm...McCain is very straight foward. I think Obama was a bit more nervous and less straight foward than him...which i think took away from his answers.

  • mccain is ridiculous. just because you legalize gay marriage does not make it mandatory. if you condemn people because of a personal descision like that then you are NOT for human rights. You should be able to choose who you love just as much as you should be able to choose what you wear or who your friends are. I also agree with obama as far as aborion, you must get to the root of the problem, such as easier access to preventative methods to solve the bigger issue

  • You realize Obama is against gay marriage too, don't you?

  • Amen! Fire the bad teachers. Make them EARN their pay, not retain tenure and do nothing for years until they retire. THAT is the problem with our schools now, NOT the lack of funds. That falsehood has been proven.

  • anyone who answers questions SO QUICKLY... with just a YES needs to be more thoughtful. Just hearing YES is a programmed response that will drive applause but doesnt show any evidence on how he will actually complete these things. Instead he just tells a story.. not HOW he will accomplish it

  • Stead, you're right about an extremely short answer like, "YES," it needs more filling out. But McCain rarely said things that short except as more a humorous comment to Warren's comment about his short answers. If you watch the entire interview of both candidates, McCain actually gave more details on how he would accomplish his views than Obama did. Obama's long discourses, offered little details on HOW he would accomplish his ideas, but he sounded good talking about it.

  • What? It's called being firm in your beliefs with no doubt as to the answer. Obama on the other hand, couldn't spout a coherent answer without studdering. Plus, he didn't answer the questions directly, instead walked around them. Don't try and twist it around. You know what you say is BS as well as I do, you just won't admit it.

  • Its ok to be firm in your beliefs but you need to demonstrate evidence in order to support your beliefs. Obama may have hesitated with his answers because it is difficult to say with certainty, a solution to such vast problems on the spot. His hesitation though would be comparable to a lackluster 'YES', with no real insight. This is not a forum to be cavalier but it is tough to address 100% how to solve major world problems. I respect your opinion however.

  • Yeah, Obama says "umm" a lot more than McCain because McCain's answers are all canned and he's not even thinking about what he's saying.

  • Wow, never heard of undecisive decisiveness. A new liberal creation? LOL

  • If McCain says "My friends" one more time, I'm going to jump off a cliff.

    Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

haha mccain ain't my friend I don't know who the hell hes talking too! give me some of cindys millions and maybe I will like your old ass.

  • so jump

  • LOL @ 5:08 Proud of Bush but no one else is. HAHA

Silence right after he says it!!! fucking priceless! haha

  • Your a moron MClown69. I by no means think Bush is great, but I do believe he has handled what was thrown at him well. You want a priceless thought..... Our country was almost 100% behind him after 9/11 but as time goes by people seem to forget. Its sad that it takes a horrible event such as that to stop this nation from tearing itself apart.

  • Amen! Bush stayed the course in the face of brutal opposition. THAT is the true mark of a leader. This country is safer, much safer than 9/12 because of his unwillingness to waiver in the face of opposition. History will be the judge I guess, not a bunch of left wing loons here on YouTube.

  • McCain, I believe in states rights until things don't go my way... sheesh!

  • LOL @ 5:08 Proud of Bush but no one else is. HAHA

  • If McCain says "My friends" one more time, I'm going to jump off a cliff.

    Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

  • if obama says.. uhhh or i,i,i...

  • One thing I noticed about both candidates on the question of evil: Neither one acknowledged where evil comes from.

Evil comes from me. I become evil when I decide to ignore the inherent dignity of the individual. Both candidates related with evil as somthing outside of themselves, and outside of the congregation and outside of america. This is bull. We all are capable of evil. We are all in danger of committing evil if we ignore this fact.

  • watch (Part 7/10) 2008 Presidential Forum at Saddleback Church in the related videos to the right. at 8:35 seconds into the vid you see john McCain ask if they are gonna get back to the surpreme court justice question but one problem on his part. they never once asked about surpreme court justices yet. only to obama. proves right there he knew the questions prior to coming out there.

  • Read the news.... BOTH the candidates had advanced knowledge of the questions.

ahhh huuuuh ohhhh OBAMA blew it...

    McCain 1 - Obama 0

Quick, Complete, Concise, Well thought out answers... maybe EXPERIENCE had something to do with that...

    A quality unfortunately Obama lacks

  • Join me in asking Rick Warren to pray for forgiveness for lying to help McCain cheat. Show that SOME Christians still have moral values.

The sort of deceit shown by Rick Warren turns people off to Christ's real message. Jesus wouldn't lie to help McCain--or any other Republican--make an infomercial.

As a Christian, I'm tired of being stereotyped as having given up all moral values to ensure Republican victory. Christ was about helping the poor, and telling the truth too.

  • Evil. What is evil? If we defeat it, can there be good without evil? Can evil be defeated, or will it re-emerge no matter what?

Some do evil, some do good. If there is God, and most believe there is, then why is evil allowed to exist? Is it to test us, our decisions, because to do good intentionally there must also be the possibility to do evil, or nothing at all. Or is evil the work of God's opponent, Satan?

  • For evil to be eradicated there must be a fundamental and global change of values. Not money nor power shall be the goal in your life but universal love and respectful freedom, not fame nor external beauty but wisdom and modesty.

Oh dear, what am I preaching here? In the words of one of the gretest dreamers of all:

    Imagine no possessions

    I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

    A brotherhood of man

    Imagine all the people

    Sharing all the world

    John Lennon

  • I disagree. McCain's core values are just closer to the surface. When somebody asks someone a question that the other person has strong feelings about, there's a tendency to answer quickly and directly.

No need to beat around the bush and hem and haw like Obama always does.

  • never thought about it that way. i worry though, crazy as this sounds, that strict adherence to his core values could actually be a detriment to his candidacy - since mccain has to work that much harder to convince people who have different beliefs. obama hems and haws, and my impression is that he does so to look for common ground, acknowledging the diversity of values, to encourage dialogue. that is proving to be one of his charms with voters.

  • I don't see it the way you do. I see McCain answering the question quickly because he has been thinking about it during the course of the campaign.

  • Read the news.... BOTH the candidates had advanced knowledge of the questions.

  • I disagree glsnj. I think Obama was very thoughtful in his responses. None of his answers sounded canned, and he came across as very articulate and balanced. McCain on the other hand is a real snooze. His answers are so dry and boring, I can barely watch...

  • how many tmes did he said "uh".......like barack. Barack says "uh" at the beginning of evey sentnce, and thruout. that tells me that he is reaching for answers....Mccain just answers.

  • Obama does sound very thoughtful by giving long, drawn-out answers but, in typical liberal fashion, those long drawn out answers just serve as a means to make no decision on an issue and sound really thoughtful and intelligent about it at the same time. I appreciate McCain's direct answers. I can understand how he may come across to some as not very thoughtful for them, but after decades of bs answers from politicians (both republican and democrat), its refreshing.

  • Agreed, Obama did seem to go through the convoluted motions of question-dodging. I think our leaders should be able to lead, not just spin around in circles trying to convince everyone that he agrees with both sides of every issue.

  • I am with glsnj, lets ignore the answers but focus on how they were said! YEAH GUYS!!! Next year I am voting for a tin can!

  • repeated them* (I was cut off for some reason)

  • from 7:40- proof mccain knew the questions beforehand

  • @jastheswift2

no shit.. the pastor asked the questions to Obama first and then RE
