  • If selling the bushmeat is illegal, it is still irresponsible of the BBC to do this program. And the people selling the illegal bushmeat certainly should be jailed. Shame on YOU! Get a clue yourself. If an animal is on the endangered species list, killing it for bushmeat will mean that soon this species will be extinct.

  • @Terilyn04 I apologize on the behalf of the people of Africa trying to feed or provide income for their family in any way possible. Hopefully they can find a 9-5 job and shop at a supermarket like us normal folks!

  • wtf they are speaking french? in Cameroon?

  • @ashifali2 a whole buncha african countries speak french. i guess they got colonized by france

  • @ashifali2 Blame WW1

  • if we didnt eat meat all the animals we eat would die out, as there will be no need to keep breeding them. Why have a field of grazing cattle when you can grow more nuts.

  • It took me a while to understand that they're speaking french. I..take french class. FML

  • shame on you BBC, showing those people shooting and eating illegal bushmeat. and shame on Cameroon for not enforcing and jailing the people who kill the animals.

  • @Terilyn04 They weren't shooting illegal bushmeat. Selling it was illegal, not shooting it. Jailing people who kill the animals? As they said, it is for SURVIVAL. Please gets clue. And shame on you for being so stupid.

  • haha bush meat

  • haha bush meat

  • haha bush meat

  • gorilla , chimpanzee ,....wow.

  • I think some r being ignorant here. The African people are too poor to raise domesticated animals such as cows and chickens. It'd cost too much to care for and feed them. Bush meat is readily available without a cost - at least not to the human race. It's sad and I agree we r too overpopulated!

  • He speaks really good french!

  • I'd want to be starving to eat a civet cat. They shit coffee beans that fetch vasy amounts of money!

  • It's interesting how he pronounces chimpanzee just how we do, suggesting we learned the term from them!

  • Bushmeat hunting is causing new variants of HIV in human populations!

  • these guys need dogs ! lol

  • That's dumb

I got here because I think it's something about President Bush

  • haha Bush Meat

  • then no meat please even chicken should not be eating..u beef USA

  • He sounds very sophisticated speaking french^^

  • @EPIGNTCS Si tu parles du Camerounais, c'est l'accent, et j'adore en fait, ayant vecu en Cameroun pour 6 ans ^^ And if you don't really speak French and are just complimenting him, you should Google translate what I just said :P

  • People should stop breeding; there are already to many. :-(

There is no place for animals anymore.

  • The thought of meows , do not give me a good impression of bushmeat. In this case , bushmeat is a cat. I don't like the idea of eating Dumbo or Mighty Joe Young either.

  • I thought bush meat was beaver

  • ocool. sounds like they are speaking french

  • @iGiveWedgies They are speaking French.

  • YAAY! my home country!!! (well my moms) BUT Yay! Cameroon i miss the fresh smell of nature and that slightly smokey mist that would pass by your nose filled with the scent of meat (: !! AHH <3 you Africa <3 <3

  • @hinatababe97

Wow. I visited Kenya and I could not believe the level of poverty there. I guess if your powerless to change what is going on in Cameroon then you have to accept it!

  • Whoever eats gorilla and chimp deserves to get kuru and die.

  • Bush meat is how HIV was spread to humans. ENJOY.

  • @robotpanda77 Wait, how did the virus get to the U.S?

  • I really, truly wonder if Africa was a prosperous continent before European colonization. If this is true, then White people are savages. If this is not true, then Black people really need to get themselves together.

  • @anythingnew africa has had prosperous civilizations in the past, google it. also, read "guns germs and steel" and you'll learn why the world is the way it is today

  • if you eat meat and find this disgusting go kill yourself. those slabs of meat you find in the supermarket freezer don't grow on trees.

this is for survival - but this is disturbing, where do you think HIV/AIDS originated from? and the ebola virus? this practice is a ticking time bomb.

  • @kharnvelzyghur u just spoke my mind right thur...damn Hippocrates you sit down eating thesame meat while u preach against it.

  • They kill animals for liveing not for fun or Selling it They will not shoot the animal if people gave them chicken and cows and meat or somthing to eat just listen what they say at the first of the video

  • this is disgusting. bushmeat is illegal and BBC should definitely not be supporting it.

  • @maxy123456 who made it illegal?? the ribs u get from the grocery store and all the chicken u eat and all the seafood..fish shrimps u name the rest why aren't they illegal, all the rice u eat why isn't it illegal???damn hippocrates....

  • @incrediblemissella dam man ur such a troll

  • @maxy123456 just because they show it on tv doesnt mean they're supporting it. if bbc did a documentary on the kkk would that mean they are supporting it? they are just showing a lifestyle. its not like these people are killing for sport, they're just trying to survive

  • Japanese eat FISH,are healthy and many live upto a 100 years old.

  • @syas13

And Japanese fishing vessels are seen everywhere catching the fish. They catch more than new fish can grow. Many of them are seen on Africans coasts.

Where do you think this will end?

  • @natija08 circle of life,darling.

  • @syas13

Perhaps you didn't understand what I wanted to say.

Japanese and other nation's fishing vessels catch more fish than new fish can grow. And they catch fish, where African fishermen fished in former times. Today the African fishermen aren't able to catch enough fish for themselves.

This isn't "circle of life" - it's killing all life in the oceans (and let the African people stay hungry).

  • Cool

  • They have fruit and vegetables... yet are hunting for protein? That makes no sense. People need to be educated about nutrition. Especially when they unnecessarily resort to hunting endangered species - and animals that exposure to, pose risk for highly contagious infections that spread rapidly amongst humans.

  • @thestreetsempty Congratulations, you score a perfect 10 in pretentiousness, ignorance and embarrassing yourself.

  • @thestreetsempty meats have protein that fruits and veggies do not.

  • @ayellerbird Fruit and veggies are loaded in protein. Typically, more than animal products. Research plant-based nutrition.

  • @thestreetsempty There are certain things in meat that you can't get in veggies. I know about plant based nutrition. Besides; some people just want mean.

  • @thestreetsempty please can i get some examples so i can become a vegetarian

  • @incrediblemissella Gardein products have more protein per ounce than meat. However, we actually don't need that much protein. Too much blocks the body's ability to absorb calcium. In countries with high meat/dairy consumption, there is also the highest rate of osteoporosis and cancer. Meat and dairy are unnecessary and literally toxic to our bodies.

vegsource . com - great source of info. Here is one example on YT: watch?v=_2VR9W7PJcE - much more info is out there. I'll help you!

  • @thestreetsempty Although that's true, the only reason humans developed into homo sapiens is because we started eating meat which allowed our brains to grow.

  • @ayellerbird

    Even grass contains protein.

Humans can eat grain, nuts and pulses for protein. It's not necessary to eat meat.

  • @natija08 No......we evolved eating meat and we are gonnna eat meat until we die. I love meat soo much that i can even eat u if am hungry.

  • @cray32

Aren't you a bit worried about that?

  • @natija08 ok so do you eat grass

  • @Chacha5678

No, I don't, but many animals eat grass and the have big muscles.

  • @natija08 well you cant tell people to eat grass like its no big deal when you're not doing it

  • @Chacha5678

Are you kidding or are you not able to read?

Where did I wrote that people should eat grass?

  • @natija08 what did you eat yesterday?

  • @Chacha5678

Yesterday I ate bread with vegan spread and cucumbers, an apple, for dinner a soup of different vegetable with potatoes and a vegan gyros-like product from wheat. For dessert I ate a little chocolate pudding cooked with soy milk.

I drank a fruit drink (mix of apple and grapefruit juice with water), tea from herbs, water and a cup of coffee.

  • @natija08 Every living thing contains protein!

  • @natija08 well then eat ur nuts man, you can suck on my nuts too, i want to eat meat, and ill eat you too if i need too

  • @thestreetsempty tell me a country where meat isn't eaten at all. these are just the animals in their locality, they have every right to eat them to sustain themselves. it's not like these people are hunting for sport, which many europeans have done in the past. if people are so outraged about this they should send them cows, chickens, and other animals in abundance, other wise this is what they'll eat. most places have fruit and vegetables, yet people still eat meat. come on now.

  • @Chacha5678 We aren't entitled to murder.

Nice false dichotomy. But, there are cultures of people who abstain from consuming animals. Before Western culture invaded India (and brought to them increased rates of diabetes, cancer, etc.), they were a marginally meat-free culture. Asian cultures, as well. And in the West, 10 million people are vegans and have much better health than those whose diets are of the average intake of animal products. I won't bother with you. The China Study - read it.

  • @thestreetsempty if you feel so strongly about this, you should first speak to people in countries that have an abundance of food, like in the USA, not countries where there's not much food to begin with, so there's not much room for change as they're just trying to survive. also, japanese people eat a lot of meat and they're seen as being very healthy.

  • @Chacha5678 See, this is what happens when people are so misinformed. It leads to me having to speed you up to date, as I know for a fact you won't research on your own. Of course, it won't matter. You'll still tout the same bullshit.

You present a false dichotomy. I do address ALL economy levels.

The reason people have no food in those countries, is because place like the US use all the crops to overfeed livestock.

Japanese have high levels of mercury. So, yeah, thanks for the useless input.

  • @thestreetsempty no the reason why there's there's no food in some african countries is because of slash and burn farming or the land is not suitable for farming. what happens in america doesn't affect it. but in cameroon there is a lot of food, actually. like they eat a lot of vegetables, but they also eat meat, and there's nothing wrong with it. i've actually lived in cameroon for a year so i actually know what im talking about

  • @Chacha5678 No. You don't know what you're talking about. All those crops overfed to livestock could be used to feed starving people. Millions of starving people. That is a fact.

Yes, there is something wrong with murdering sentient beings. Please, shut the fuck up. You aren't ready for this issue. It is an ethical issue.

Try researching this topic. Justifying your role in harming all life on the planet is NOT cool. No matter how much you deny the reality of your actions, and the consequences.

  • He said the cat meat was good as he was about to puke haha

  • The government should provide livestock or something to supplement this form of hunting.

  • @testing88534 african governments providing things for their people? good joke

  • Is he speaking French? Cuz I hear le and la

  • @TheGodfatherSahil12 Yes, in Cameroon people speak french as well as their own local language, due to the french colonising the area..

  • umm is andre speaking french cause i have no idea about the history of cameroon

  • @carlnardo Yep, you are correct, he is speaking French. French is the main language of several african countries.

  • I cant believe he ate a CAT for God's sake. no wonder some of these guys get all kind of diseases

  • @Jamaicanchocolate34 What o.o Total city-slicker.

  • i would have taken that meat back from him and cut him loose to live alone in wild for one week... than we will see he eats cat or try to find a korean bbq resturant there.

  • These hunters brought the gorillas, chimpanzees and many other animals to extinct.

Can you imagine, how long animals fight in traps?

    It's a very disgusting video!

    Humans needn't eat meat.

  • @natija08 human population is the problem steralize every other new born and hopefully we can keep some wild life otherwise we will be eating each other

  • @budbeercap

Yes, human population is the problem.

What else will help? Condoms, the pill or sterilization, but it has to be voluntary. We should not be inhumane. If every woman gives birth only to 1 - 2 children it would be o.k.

And it would be a great progress if all humans were vegetarian.

  • @natija08 im vegan not vegetarian... and i think its close enough :D

  • @Commandos12

Where did I claim that you are a vegetarian?

It's nice that you are a vegan. We save animals every day. Tank you!

  • @natija08 uhm.. your welcome? i guess? XD?

  • @Commandos12

Sorry, I wanted to write "Thank you" instead of "Tank you".

It made me sad to see the hunter trapping the poor little animal.

I know, that it's not easy to live under such poor conditions, but I think it's enough rain there to cultivate beans or lentils, fruit, nuts and vegetable.

And perhaps they can collect eatable wild plants (they contain more vitamins and minerals).

  • @natija08 u will do the same when ur starving

  • @naruto1704

No, I don't think so, because I know, what to do in my garden.

I think the problem is, that these people THINK that it is necessary to eat meat every day. They don't know that humans can live without (if they can supplement vitamin B12) or with very little meat.

Why don't these people have a few hens? That would be enough meat to live a healthy life ( They have to eat some meat, because they can't supplement B 12 as we can do I suppose).

  • @natija08 uhm...why do u always talk about animals...wtf look at the comments u wrote....always ANIMALS but you will have to hunt animals when ur starving.....plus these people are poor as heck....might as well hunt for food to live idiot...

  • @naruto1704 exactly my thoughts.. these people dont hunt for sports... they hunt for food.. its like plucking apple from a tree... totally natural and justified.

  • @pulakification yeh! its like plucking apple from a tree! good one! lol....rlly good

  • @pulakification

Humans needn't eat meat. It's not necessary. We get enough protein from beans, lentils and so on. And it's very important to eat vegetable and fruit to get vitamins and minerals.

  • @pulakification

Apples can't suffer - animals can.

  • @natija08 but when you walk on a dirt road you squish many bugs and insects and make them suffer.. so what you should do, stop walking and stay stationary at one place for rest of your life?

  • @pulakification

When I walk on a path with small animals like bugs, snails and worms I save them by putting them into the grass.

    Ahimsa

  • @natija08 but to put them on bush u have to stand on land which kills another bug, ants, insects under ur feet.. instead u shoulld just try remain in one place n never move.

  • @pulakification

    Are you kidding?

Look: I can stand on the path and can reach the grass with my arms and hands.

I don't give answers to those silly comments furthermore.

  • @natija08 i am being silly? didnt u just said before that u pick up bugs, ants, and insects constantly while walking to make sure u dont step on one and than u pick them up and place them on tress??

  • @pulakification

Grass, I said grass, not trees!

  • @naruto1704

Please try to read my answers to "Commandos12".

  • @naruto1704

I try to be the voice of the voiceless beings, the animals. It's not right to hurt, torture or kill them.

I live as a vegan since nearly two years. It's easy. If these people have a garden and perhaps a few hens they can live a healthy life without hunting.

Do you really think it's alright to wipe out the gorillas, chimpanzees, forest elephants and many other animals?

  • @natija08 chill the fuck out. if other animals can eat meat, why do humans have to be the exception? you don't have to eat meat, but don't try to dictate other people's lives. especially people who are already having trouble getting enough food in the first place

  • @Chacha5678

We are humans. We can decide what to do or not to do, other animals can't.

These people don't live in a desert, they live in a country with enough rain. They can plant vegetable in their garden. I don't know, why they don't do that. Perhaps they have no seeds?

I have the right to say what I think about hunting and other forms of animal cruelty, Chacha. If you don't agree, it's o.k., but you don't have the right to say that I have to shut up.

  • @natija08 they probably do eat vegetables as well.. I really doubt that they only eat meat, when they're surrounded by other plants.. that wouldn't be a balanced diet. I've lived in west africa for a year and both meat and vegetables are staples of the diet. food tastes a lot better there than in america where things are genetically modified for mass-production. You have as much right to say your opinion as I have a right to say mine. but I dont go tell vegetarians to go eat meat.. its rude

  • @Chacha5678

I DISCUSSED the problem of meat eating, I didn't say that you HAVE to stop eating meat.

If you go on to eat meat, it's your decision.

But your decision means, that animals suffer a cruel death. If you want to be responsible for that, just do so.

In my eyes it's "rude" to be cruel to sentient beings.

  • @natija08 You do realize other animals eat meat as well. When a tiger kills an elephant to eat, I'm sure it doesn't have the most pleasant death either. Don't fight with nature.

  • @Chacha5678

I say it again, please try to understand it this time: Humans can DECIDE what they eat - animals CAN'T.

So humans are responsible for their deeds, animals not.

  • @Chacha5678 - part 2

I want to save nature from human destroying - you give your best to fight for the DESTROYING of nature.

There are too much people living on this planet. We can't feed the world with wild animals.

We have to decide whether we want to destroy or to save our planet earth.

An example: 80% of global fish stocks are overfished. Do you think that's o.k.?

  • @natija08 If you believe in God, it doesn't matter if you eat meat. It's not a sin. And if you don't believe in God, then nothing's meant to be, and then it still doesn't matter if you eat meat. Overpopulation is a myth. Google that, and then click the first link and watch the youtube videos, and you'll see what I mean. Many cities are overcrowded, but as a whole there's more than enough room on Earth, and more than enough ways to get resources for everyone.

  • @Chacha5678

    1. Do you REALLY think, God allows you to be cruel to animals? I don't think so!

    2. It's nearly unbelievable, but people, who don't believe in God, can follow ethical rules too, perhaps even better than people who believe in God?

    3. 7 billion people - they all want to eat and drink, a room or house to live in, cloths, furniture, perhaps a car ...

If all inhabitants of this planet would live like US-Americans, this planet had already collapsed.

  • @natija08 god was non-vegetarian..

  • @pulakification

Oh, you talked to God? That's fine. Please ask him, when Jesus will come to save the earth.

  • @pulakification

That's the most moronic comment ever made by anyone

  • @ph03n1xamb1t I know.. I mean picking up ants and putting on trees?? who does that?

  • @pulakification

    Sorry?

  • @natija08 god isn't real so...

  • @utuber2500

Of course you can believe that, if you want.

But perhaps you will ask yourself sometime how life came to birth on this planet.

If you know how complex even a tiny being like a bacteria is (bacteria contain DNA!) it's hard to believe that this life could come into being by accident.

  • @naruto1704

This video is about eating animals, isn't it.

  • @natija08 yup

  • @natija08 few hens? seriously do you even know the economics of raising a hen or a lamb as opposed to stepping out and taking something from nature? you live in a alice in a wonderland world.. vegetarianism is unsustainable, period.

  • @pulakification

    Hunting is unsustainable.

The hunters there brought gorillas, chimpanzees and many other animals to extinct. Didn't you hear about that?

Do you know that every animal you hunt ate plants (or other animals, which ate plants)?

So, if you eat the plants yourself it's ten times more sustainable!

  • @natija08 i like meat, they are tasty, healthy and provide more nutrients than nuts and leaves... stop being a gypsy.

  • @pulakification

You live in the USA I saw on your channel.

"Your" meat comes from factory farms which torture the animals and feed them with hormones and antibiotica. Do you really think, that it is healthy or nutritious?

  • @natija08 I buy organic always.. everything.. even though i have to pay more price for it..

  • @pulakification

In Germany a book of Jonathan Safran Foer is most discussed: Eating Animals.

    You should read it.

  • @natija08 Keep in mind that humans are destroying animal's homes for farmland. Vegans and vegetarians may not take part in the animal but they are still part of the reason that those animals are dying out.

  • @gaaraisbest

To feed an animal costs up to ten times more plants than eating the plants yourself.

So, if everybody would be a vegetarian or better a vegan we would need less farmland than today.

  • @natija08 ya.....no!

  • @ubersupernoob

    No?

So tell me, please, what has "your" peace of meat eaten and drunk, when it was alive? Air?

Do you know that 90% of the worlds soy beans harvest is fed to animals? Do you know that the Brazilian rain forest is cut down to plant soy beans for the animals of the western world?

  • @natija08 i do not know what my meat has consumed. I am sure that it doesnt come from the rainforests of Brazil. Bushmeat would seem like a good idea if i were in the same position as this family. There really is no exception, either eat it or starve. Yes, i know we destroy the environment we live in, buy hey we are humans, we have manipulated the land around us for our own needs.

  • @natija08

also the rain Forrest was cut down so cattle's and goats can have eating fields, in turn killing our oxygen makers

  • @rx7dren

That's right. They destroy the beautiful rain forest only to get meat which nobody really needs.

They destroy the earth for the taste of meat.

    That's awful.

  • @natija08 These guys are lazy bastards. Grow chicken and ducks... assholes...

  • @badeacartan

Perhaps it thrills more for them to hunt the poor animals in the rain forest? Perhaps working in the garden isn't work for men in their traditional conviction?

    We don't know it.

I hope that the peoples of Africa will recognize some day that their fantastic nature and their beautiful animals are really worth to save. Compassion in stead of violence and cruelty!

  • Andrew Zimmer has nothingon this guy!

  • What kind of journalism is this where the reporter participates in the eating of bushmeat and the story ends with him saying "it's good!" I found this to be very disturbing. Where is the other side? Go to a sanctuary and meet some of those "ferocious" gorillas. They will probably give you a hug.

  • this is why they like these wild jungle mountain just look he look like he is stilll under going evolution like song ghania

  • I wouldnt have gave him the leg.

  • disgusting goddam africans eating Gorilla and Chimps, its because of this barbaric behavior HIV crossed over to humans, thanks alot!

  • @sammy1324 like the dude said, alot of the animals are dyin out an its cause the people are poor. they need somethin to eat. i bet if ur ass was ova there, youd be eatin somethin wild. why dont u think for a min.

  • @sammy1324

u r stupid man, u dont even know what u r talking about

  • It's good!

  • Snares are the WORST. No discrimination, causes a horribly painful, cruel death. By the way, civet's are not actually related to cats.

As for gorillas being ferocious...of course they are! They are fighting for survival and will fight to the death protecting their young.

  • people who blame guys like that man are so stupid. he said he kills gorillas cuz they are agressive but really he just wants something to eat..all these fat asses here in america whining about them killing wildlife dont know what its like having to hunt for hours to try to get a meal. they go to the store and feed their asses with as much as they can fit in their stomachs.

  • I'm going to eat my cat now LOL

  • its a kettehhhh =/ but i guess when its all you have...

its really messd up cause a lot of places that are starving and have to try realllly hard just to get something to eat, theres a fucked up government thats making them that way. they have water, they have food, but they wont give it to just anyone, they save all that for the higher ups. its messed up really...ima go there and build a mcdonolds.....and i wont let the government eat my sammiches...

  • @lucidfail

Don't build a McDonald's! We want them to LIVE not die of a heart attack!

  • the people in africa are starving, they have to eat, should be able to hunt whatever they need. it's there continent

  • reporter was such a homo, if he saw a real gorilla he would run and scream like a girl.

and he BARELY god that meat down, he looked like he was about to cry lol

  • Mmmmm, pussy.

  • WTF this reporter is a lier.. he said Angre will not have any meat to feed his family??? why Mr. reporter? It looks like it is their culture to eat such meats... but Mr. reporter made it seem like they have no Lamb, cows, chickens etc what we consider normal...

  • You're not listening carefully enough. The reporter is saying that without hunting, he wouldn't have access to meat, meaning there aren't stores or markets that they have access to.

  • They DON'T have lamb or beef or chicken because they're too poor or their homes are too remote for them to get that kind of meat.

  • you are very stupid dont you know that in Africa every animal thrive in exceeding amounts, they can get any animal they want but they choose bush meat cus its delicious...because u dont have bush meat in ur society does not mean you should attribute their consumption of bushmeat to poverty...all animals in your zoos come from africa so dont say stupid things like they cant afford..those animals roam their backyards like hell.

  • Beat the Bushmeat... or my meat... your choice

  • From the people who brought you AIDS!

    Where did AIDS come from?

    Bushmeat hunters!

In fairness, the people who live there need to feed their families.

People living outside Africa eating bushmeat are just stupid.

  • bushmeat is the best village women cook it the traditionnal way.i'll spend much money to eat bushmeat today its been years.its forbidden but i dont care when authorities arrest hunters they take meat to their homes aniways, feed the people first.

  • "it's Good"

  • I wonder what Gorilla and Chimp meat tastes like? That lady whose face got fucked up by her pet chimp needs to eat that fucking chimp. That's great for her. That lady showed her fucked up face on Oprah. Legalize bushmeat for the sake of that lady, Yay!

  • I know if I had problems feed my family, I wouldn't give a shit about endangered animal. I'd shoot all the gorilla I could find.

  • @RealmEternal hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
