Officially Bernie hasn't retired. He made a statement the other day I believe to that extent. And thank god for that. He deserves a proper send off season instead of leaving it so open ended as it stands now. New York loves him and I so hope the Yankees Big Heads find a way to utilize him that respects his value and passion for this organization.

With Matsui on the DL now, maybe it'll happen. But even if it does, he is at the end of his career some time in the near future.
