  • Indeed "Darth vader was obviously ripped from Dr Doom” as doctor doom was probably inspired from some Alexandre Dumas novel such as the man in the iron mask etc..

You can model your villain after any negative thing you can find in nature and it will work out perfectly, I’m sorry, but I think it's easier to create villains because anything goes.

  • Darth Vader was obviously ripped from Dr Doom.

  • I love how the last half of this was unconsiously a Jack Kirby documentation. Goes to show yah how much of a king he is. He should be promoted to god of comics...oh wait that's Stan Lee.

  • Hail to the King!!!

  • To me the greatest villain to ever come out of comic books would be The Joker. He is going to give you your last laugh!

  • Check out Quezada's Ab at 10:25.

  • JACK KIRBY ROCKS!!! HE MADE COMICS HISTORY!! :D

  • Holy shit! Is that Simon Templeton as Dr. Doom?!!

  • jack kirby made Marvel Comics superheroes and Stan Lee is all talk and Jack kirby is a doier.

  • @fsantibanez2 Sounds like you're doing all the talking. What the fuck have YOU ever done asshole other than complain and comment on successful people and their accomplishments? Stop hating fuck face and shut your pie hole....

  • Love these great heroes!

  • did jack kirby die i'm a little slow?

  • Stan Lee would have everyone believe that Jack Kirby was nothing more than a glorified 'cheque book' artist. He did the work. He got paid. Nothing more.

Only now, when he has made his money and gotten so old ( a classic case of the 'guilts') does he now reveal how creative Jack Kirby really was. But I still think there is more that Stan 'the man' Lee is not telling everyone.

  • joker is the greatest villain ever created in my own opinion, thanks a lot for posting this wonderful documentary

  • But I can't completely bash stan lee. He is enthusiastic for most peoples work, you have to give them that.

  • @daemonsknowmyname I agree with you to some degree. I hate all contemporary superhero comics. To be fair, these artist and writers though want to tell their version of a story that they felt might needed to be told. You know what need... to get Joe Quesada off of Marvel Comics editorial staff.

  • Jim Lee says, "you can name on one hand the total number or great villains in DC and Marvel". What the ......? What has he been reading?

Lee, like the other new hacks don't belong in this documentary.

  • @TheTMan2020 Maybe the "one hand" he's referring to is... full of fingers? I can't believe someone in the comic book industry could be so foolish. There are dozens of great villains. Hell, people have top 25 lists that don't cover all the great DC/Marvel ones.

  • @TheTMan2020

    he said couldn't

  • Galactus has a cousin!!! Unicron... man both have horns on theyr helmets...are big and eat Planets...scray...

  • lol at 2:30 Robin's stance is funny as shit

  • Part of the reason he got the job was that he said he knew karate. He even talked smack about how he could deck Bruce Lee. When Bruce did the green hornet crossover episode with batman, Burt Ward was scared that Bruce would beat the crap out of him.

  • Piss off it was the animated series that introduced me to the comics.

  • @SpectralViral

    Ditto

  • I love John Buscema the only thing I felt he didn't quite get was Spider-man EVERYTHING else he did was INCREDIBLE!

  • Was this John Busema's last appearance in an interview before he died

    A great artist sadly missed.

  • Steve Ditko drew Spiderman.

  • wow....never knew Burgess Meredith (Mickey from the Rocky movies) played The Penguin!!

  • yes, agree with u. that why he dies in Kingdom come right? when a guy like the characters u mention faces him.

  • the joker had face the JLA and SUperman.

  • give me thumbs down

  • You are wrong.

  • Please, I need to know the name of that catchy tune at 2:36 !!!!

  • cesar romero is def my fav joker!!if you looking for a more family friendly villain but still insane cesars the way to go if you wnat strictly and awesomely insane(and a moral) go with heath!

  • Kirby is a god. This new comic art looks constipated and gay compared to his clean and dynamic line.

  • Well in one way its still not too late. Even though Jack Kirby has passed on, his decendants can still reap the rewards of his labours.

I don't know how Stan Lee can live with himself!!!!

  • He sleeps on top a pile of money, with many beautiful ladies...so he lives quite well. But he's never alone. His groupies keep him happy

  • Wishful thinking....?

    Nuff said.

  • i wish jack was still in the comic buissness still

  • GO SEE IRON-MAN! It was very good but as usual, Jack is sent to the end credits when he invented the character in the first place!

  • THANK YOU JACK 'KING' KIRBY, the TRUE CREATOR of Marvel Comics. Without Jack there would surely be no Marvel movies OR COMICS and it is professed by people like FRANK MILLER that there would be no DC movies either. Jack co-created X-men, Fantastic 4, Black Panther, Iron Man, Silver Surfer and Galactus, Thor, Spider-man(ITZ TRUE!), Ant-man and Wasp, Magneto, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, Darkseid(for DC), Machine Man, The Sandman(DC and Marvel), Medusa, CAPTAIN AMERICA and on and on! KIRBY IS THE KING!!!

  • itzjoeymac it was Steve Ditko who created Spiderman, not Jack Kirby.

  • That's kinda controversial. Both answers are correct, btw. It's alleged that Kirbhy had planned this character called the silver spider or similar name, who was a guy with a ring, which let him transform into a guy who could shoot webs with his gun and wore a silver spider costume. Kinda lame. Ditko and Lee took this idea, Ditko took out the gun, added web shooters, added the iconic costume, and allowed him climb walls and gave him a spider-sense. Stories differ about the origin.

  • You mean Marvel Movies. DC only have 2 movies that are strong franchise Superman and Batman and neither of those are created by Jack but was worked by him before!

  • @itzjoeymac Wow, look at the emphasis you put on "TRUE CREATOR". Can't you just respect ALL the brilliant people who made Marvel what it is today?

And on Spider-Man, try Steve Ditko as co-creator.

  • @itzjoeymac No steve ditko did spider man with stan lee. It is true that stan went to jack first but jack made peter to heroic looking so he didn't draw it. :P

  • @itzjoeymac WOW, Kirby co created all those great & awesome characters???? UNBELIEVABLE!!!

  • Jack Kirby is amazing!

  • you are all wrong stan is the man

  • i cant decide there both great

  • Both great. JACK BETTER.

  • But Jack Kirby is the one who created the foundation of Marvel in the 60's. If it was not Jack there would be no Spiderman, X-Men, Hulk, etc. Stan Lee was good for two thing, script and putting his name in every issue of comics!

  • doh, the comments ain't were they were suposed to be, damn consipated youtube!

  • Ditko is fully responsible of bringing Spidey to life. But Kirby designed and left a blue print of Spidey for what would be Marvel's poster boy. Kirby did not have time for 12 comic titles per month especially Spiderman which he left for both Lee and Ditko to work on! Ditko brought Spidey to life but Kirby created him via a character sketch.

  • Please do our research before you yell rat!

  • You're spot on, Jack Kirby was treated very badly, considering he created most of the Marvel universe, the man was a true visionary.

  • @BlakeVII I couldn't agree more.

  • @SpectralViral I have a great hatred for Stan Lee and the way he and later on Marvel treated Jack Kirby. Now, Stan Lee gets to live up to his 'Mr Disney' persona while refusing to give the proper credit to the people who got him there in the first place.

  • @justicegang Stan is just a copy paste person for most of his comics. I would prefer Alan Moore than Stan Lee. Funny enough. I used to idolize Stan Lee.

  • 1:52-Aw hell...

  • JACK KIRBY MADE MARVEL and the new kids of comics need to know it. Kirby was clearly not just drawing Stan's ideas. THE FACTS: Kirby joins Marvel and shortly after, they have a thousand new and inventive characters. Kirby leaves Marvel and creates an entire universe of characters for D.C., many of which are still huge. Stan, at this time, QUITS WRITING. Jack comes back to Marvel and creates more characters that are still quite big. The facts are undeniable. Stan was GREAT but JACK WAS THE KING.

  • If it ain't for Jack, Marvel would have been bankrupt for good. As the repomen was collecting all the furnitures in the Marvel Office and Stan was crying. Jack made an offer to Stan which became history with 12 title characters in Jack's portfolio (you know who these characters are) and Marvel was out of the broke house. Because of creative differences Jack went back to DC to do Jimmy Olsen and The New Gods and Stan claimed all the credit where as Jack was forgotten! Shame really!

  • Jack Kirby is amazing! R.I.P Jack Kirby. :)

  • agreed, kirby created the image of the modern heroes and villians in the comic book medium.

    (darkseid,captain america,thor,dr. doom,silver surfer)

  • KIRBY IS THE KING!

  • @itzjoeymac yeah, thanks to this documentary now i know who the real king is!

  • Jack Kirby made marvel Comics, stan lee is all talk.

  • Respect where respect is due: Long live the KING.
