Yes, they are "allowed" to, per se. If you were to read a Bible you will see that people danced and drank wine. However, being a drunk and ruining your life and that of your family is another story altogether, and there is also info about that in the Bible.

Ron Paul supporters highjack everything.. From The Chicago Tribune today about yesterdays Illinois straw poll about Ron Paul supporters:
"They frequently interrupted TV reports of the event and at one point, Romney's Illinois chairman, state Sen. Dan Rutherford (R-Chenoa), ripped a sign out of one Paul supporter's hands and threw it on the ground."
