I have this model of bluray player and the mediaremote app

it seems that mediaremote went the way of horrible "updates" that involve advertising and well, not working.

When I try to use the remote it doesn't work and the bluray player itself tells me to go to settings and press the registration button but the closest thing to that is a list of remotes to choose from. Neither of mine are on the list and all my sony products tend to be universal with their own remotes, so why bother?

I own a BDP-S570 and I've been having problems with it and Sony Support is useless. The Blu-ray player is fine, works great. But if you want to use a wireless setup it's a pain in the ass. Sony couldn't help me hook it up to my new Netgear, I did get it finally to work. But most importantly, if you plan on using Netflix or Hulu Plus expect problems. My player always freezes and I'm not the only one, look up the model # and netflix problem to see all the complaints. The new update didn't fix it.

Great.. but the real improvement would be to have a regionfree bluray player.

Google for *bluray modchip* and get full control over your player (and not the manufacturer).

these blue ray units all come with remotes and are faster and easier to operate with the remotes that are supplied. The app is thus impractical unless you want to show off.

I mean really or maybe it would be practical if you wanted to prank somebody by overriding other user entries.

i have this player and its really good however Content is filtered, say if you wanted to watch music video it is filtered out in youtube.

Oh hey it has a remote, you dont need an app for bd remote on your phone, you can actually use the phone as a phone and the remote as a remote.

Kinda funny the iPhone or iTouch will operate the S570, but the S570 won't play iPod music. The app doesn't turn the S570 on either, so it's pretty useless since you have to get the remote out to turn on the player.

Sony has more compatible stuff for the ipod than for their own players...seems pretty silly to myself.since i bought a sony radio for my kitchen only to find out it only works with i pod.pretty smart sony
