  • i just installed fl studio 9 on my netbook and when i opened files i had with hypersonic the CPU jumps to like 60% when its idle! asio4all doesnt help either.. a lot of pops and crackling and whatnot.. SUPER laggy.. will an external sound card reduce CPU load?

  • can i run fl studio reason on a netbook i knw i can do it on a laptop notebook though

  • Thanks for this! I'm about to go on a big trip and was tormenting myself over buying an stupid big full sized 6+ lb laptop or getting a super lightweight, but underpowered netbook. Knowing that I'll still be able to tweak knobs on the road, even if minimally, makes the decision much easier!

  • i cant tell what kind of instruments you are running on each track. mind sharing some details? have you tried live 8 on that machine? thanks

  • i am running ableton live 7 on an acer aspire one with soundblaster X-fi external sound card. Even if I am doing simple beats with Live it doesn't work very well at all. I disconnect from wireless internet but stills very crappy. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

  • Does X-fi have ASIO2 drivers, if so make sure that you select these type of drivers from within the Ableton Live control panel.

  • Awesome! I wonder if I can run Absynth...? Thanks for the demo.

  • No. No no no no no no no. I have a Samsung NC-10, and every time I tried using Absynth, the processor would just shit out on me in a matter of minutes. If you want a really solid synth to use with it, try Steinberg Hyperstation; it's a lot less demanding on weaker systems.

  • is the onboard sound card asio compatible? (asio4all)

  • Standard 1gb. I'm not sure that 1.5gb makes all that much difference.

Ableton will overload if trying to use VST's or plugins such as Reverb. Less CPU intensive plugins work well though.

    Audio works incredibly well.

  • this is exactly what i was hoping to find on the web. did you upgrade the ram on this to 1.5? also have you had any overloads in ableton?
