Arnold had the best BB body by far imho. Todays BB's are too bulky and good for nothing but lifting. Arnold was able to actually do more than lift weights.

Let me tell you I am not anti-Arnold by a long way, I was a huge fan of Arnold AND Mike. I just don't agree with the 1980 Olympia, it's as simple as that. Arnold 73 74,75 was incredible and there is no doubt at all he has done more to promote the sport than anyone.

Arnie wasn in his best shape, thats obvious...think when you compare him to his previous comps your more critical. One thing is for sure though...he won that contest fair and square...Mentzer was never in the same league! Arnie was better in terms of physique and wat he did for the sport and thats why he won. Mentzer's many flaws were apparent during the prejudging. So were Coe's as were Zane's. Dickerson's and Arnold's strength's. Arnold trained only 7 weeks for this contest after a 5 year layoff and beat those guys at about 70% of his best shape! WOW!

Take a good look at the still shots. Arnold's upper body symmetry and size beats Mentzer even though Arnold was not 100%, his legs were not what they were in 1975 but the total package was better presented than mentzer who's wide hips and stretch marks on his lats and pecs make for a less asthetic physique. Onecould argue that every IFBB contest is "fixed" due to the fact that the results are designed to sell magazines.

Bottom line: Arnold Rules.

Mentzer chastized Kal Szkalak for saying the 78 Olympia was fixed. Mike said the IFBB judging system was the best in the world. He sure changed his tune in 80. FACT: It wasn't fixed. All competitors were under contract with Weider so it made no difference who won. Arnold won becaus even at only 70%, he was better than the rest. Just barely, but better. Coe & Mentzer couldn't handle that. Too bad!

What was dumb was Mentzer & Coe and the way they reacted to this contest. What you may not know is that both Coe & Mentzer bad mouthed Arnold for years after the 75 Olympia never thinking that he would come back and compete against them. It only took Arnie 7 weeks of training to destroy them. And stupid was these two guys destroying their careers over a personal issue.
