Considering that costs of life are much lower in eastern europe there would be few more of them, but i listed only those which have higher nominal GDP per capita.
@Wortek1234 well i reckon that, but if we check estonia, latvia, lithuania, ucraine, romania, hungary, bulgaria, moldova, croatia, bosnia, montenegro, serbia, kosovo, albania and macedonia we see that all of those have way lower HDI, GDP, GDP per capita and even quality of life in their capital cities.
i know some of those countries are not in the EU yet but they belong to eastern europe

McChicken in PL costs 1,75 e in PT 4,1 e), i think it's similar in Hungary and Estonia. We were discussing about eastern EU countries so i skip rest of east european countries which doesn't belong to EU. That leaves only 4 out of 9 east EU countries behind PT. East europe is poorer than eg. Germany, France, UK, but not PT. btw I like Portugal, so no offence ;).

It's no business to go to Portugal, to earn 1000 euroa month, if i earn 800 euro in PL and everything is a lot cheaper. This poverty index only shows inequality of earnings in society. If u will have less than 39 000 $ a year in Luxemburg, u will be considered as living in poverty, but u wont be really poor.

Let me say this. Every European capital cities is at least twice as beautiful as an American city. You can see that there is a difference between a 1000 year old city. Every historic building, every place is a treasure. American cities are young and chaotic. It will take decades and a high er population density to reach the beauty of a European city. And the US government has to begin spending money in city planning and teh quality of life. Private enterprise cannot provide for everything.
@TrickyEmu id rather have the natural beauty of the U.S from the Florida everglades to the rockies that my freind is far more beautiful than any city. The U.S has a wide assortment of different habitats. Plus I am a U.S citizen so I will always think U.S cities are better than European cities no offense. the architecture of all of the major cities in Europe is amazing, its pretty hard to pick a favourite (mine is London, but only because i live there)

Well as much as you like to think the military spending of every country in the EU combined does not surpass the military spending or military technology that the US has. Even though we have a greater population, that doesn't mean we'll have the greatest military. If you want the EU to have the greatest military on Earth than you'll have to increase military spending. I think the EU should remain as it is and not increase its influence any more on member states.

i know some of those countries are not in the EU yet but they belong to eastern europe

@PtoKaze13 Hungary, Poland and Estonia have GDP per capita about 19 000 $. Prices in Portugal are two times higher than in Poland (eg. McChicken in PL costs 1,75 e in PT 4,1 e), i think it's similar in Hungary and Estonia. We were discussing about eastern EU countries so i skip rest of east european countries which doesn't belong to EU. That leaves only 4 out of 9 east EU countries behind PT. East europe is poorer than eg. Germany, France, UK, but not PT. btw I like Portugal, so no offence ;).

It's no business to go to Portugal, to earn 1000 euroa month, if i earn 800 euro in PL and everything is a lot cheaper. This poverty index only shows inequality of earnings in society. If u will have less than 39 000 $ a year in Luxemburg, u will be considered as living in poverty, but u wont be really poor.

Let me say this. Every European capital cities is at least twice as beautiful as an American city. You can see that there is a difference between a 1000 year old city. Every historic building, every place is a treasure. American cities are young and chaotic. It will take decades and a high er population density to reach the beauty of a European city. And the US government has to begin spending money in city planning and teh quality of life. Private enterprise cannot provide for everything.

@TrickyEmu id rather have the natural beauty of the U.S from the Florida everglades to the rockies that my freind is far more beautiful than any city. The U.S has a wide assortment of different habitats. Plus I am a U.S citizen so I will always think U.S cities are better than European cities no offense. Although Prague and Budapest were quite amazing.
