  • the year is 1992, actually

  • I remember this folk song first hearing it in pre-school through second grade.. well second grade during Music Glass.

  • The version I've heard and sing, they all get chased into a lake by a snake. Love the assortment of wedding guests in Bob's version. 'Folk song passin' around' at it's best; no two versions exactly alike.

  • C c c c c crambone!

  • @Misfitspunk1023 ha ha that's what brought me here.

  • thankyou....sweet

  • Beautiful guitar pick'in on this song!

  • COOL VERSION

  • Every version I've ever heard has ended differently, but they always get eaten. lol. WHY??

  • @GMGRDS they don't get eaten in every version, check out king kong kitchie kitchie ki-mi-o...it's another version and they don't get eaten!!

  • @PsychedelicFlower1 Yeah, since writing that, I found another version too. :D Why DO they get eaten more often than they don't though?? o.O lol.

  • @GMGRDS well my friend, the answer is blowin in the wind

  • omg been looking for this song forever ...I remember my mother singing this to me. She passed away several years ago with Alzheimers. Thanks Bob for the memories.

  • Tom and Jerry send me here

  • Listening to the tree frog seranade deep in the woods tonight aand found this frog song - Thank you Bob!

  • My sweet mother sang this song to me when I was her baby..I lost my precious mother in 2009 when she lost her battle with cancer..R.I.P. My dearest mommy, auuggie...

  • My Grandmother used to sing this to me. She was a special lady who sang all sorts of songs like this. She recited old English Lit. stories, poems & rhymes. She was also one of the best story tellers I know. She could make you believe anything, scare you to death or make you laugh till your jaws hurt. maybe she is part of the reason I love Dylan.

  • SUPER

  • Early memories of childhood...awesome!

  • Thanks for posting Bob's rendition. This is from the Sesame Street children's album "In Harmony"

  • OMG Thank you! How wonderful!

  • Dylan is really an amazing guitarist - his picking here is both technically very clean, but also expressive. I wish he'd make an album showcasing this particular talent.

  • wow!
