As for the vocals, I am sorry, but this is where I can truly talk because I am a successful vocalist but the vocals were absolutely weak and horrid. Not enough growls. Listen to Sully Erna and James Hetfield more and try to mimic their vocal styles and you might be able to pull off Whatever vocally.

sully's voice is the one downside of godsmack. For a band that started out as an alice in chains cover band they failed in getting a singer close to as good as Layne Staley or Jerry Cantrell. I havent heard ukj but so far from what i've heard of another animal he is much better.

Whitfield and Sully are very different singers so there is no one better than the other as well as the fact that each singer's influence on songs could open up the band to grow even more.

Genesis let Phil go solo and they later produced one of their strongest albums a few months later.

Did you listen to this video? They put this Another Animal band together and THEN told Sully about it. That kinda of means they did it behind his back and THEN told Sully. Some of the live clips I've seen of Another Animal haven't been that great but I'd love to see them live. I have loved Godsmack since day one and hope to hear from them again soon. Can't imagine going without them. I don't necessarly believe Sully is a control freak. I do however believe that he is very passionate about Godsmack.
