@jimisru You're apparently missing my point... Slavery was a BAD that was accepted because more people believed it was okay than there were that didn't. Persecution of gays and denial/removal of rights is a BAD which is accepted because more people believe it's okay than there are that don't. I contend that majority rule isn't always morally correct. Whether marriage is "good" is irrelevant and not at issue here.
Whoa, I'm not passing judgment on whether voting is the best way to determine policy. I'm just stating that its the reality of the matter that we do happen to vote on certain issues in a democratic society. That's how it works. I'm just pointing that out.
Thanks for the response. I also agree that very few atheists and Christians are like the overtly vocal ones portrayed on You Tube.
