This is #1. I've never seen the whole thing. Thanks for posting. I LOVE THIS. It is unreal seeing everyone jamming away. Alice is great, the man and the whole band.
Awesome, was just recently re-listening to Love It To Death after not hearing it for a few years. This incredible song closing out side 1 of the original LP. Written by bass player Dennis Dunaway. Never forget the ORIGINAL Alice Cooper band!!
This has got to be one of the best Alice songs that has ever been written. I'm curious as to why this hasn't been in any setlist since... well since... early 70's I believe.
that was a true hard to find. Grew up with that song and never knew the name of it till now. I could never find it. all I could remember is it was cooper, waiting for worms ans PARTY!. Great cut.
That organ sounds killer!! I realy liked that about Alice Coopers early music, how they used realy creepy organs and combined them with hard guitar rock. That realy acheived an amazing and distinctive musical effect.
Minde-bending tune and a great performance peice to boot! I also think that Alice has one of the most unusual and coolest physical apearances of any star ever! He has a realy great face, what with the high cheeckbones, the sharp nose, the large brow and slightly deformed sloping forehead. He truely was born to be Alice Cooper.
I never thought I'd hear Alice do a little scream lol it's quite a good song, I had to see what it was like coz the 'black glu glu' what he uses in one of his 'Along Came A Spider' trailors made me wonder what the song was like.
Yep, definitely written in and for that time period. It's amazing how much change their music made from the early days! I never could get into this song as much as, say, "No More Mr. Nice Guy", though. Still a classic, just the same! ; )
@bigpoopie69 I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand I'd say Thank God! on the other I wish it were, then I could hunt it down and put it out of it's misery!
as mm #1 in my own country im think that alice cooper is the one cause if there was no alice then there was no mm but is not mean that is not give us the options to listen for modern artist (but not cheap and assholes like green day)
marilyn manson, slipknot etc are nice as the modern artist but of corse 70's means the best music that will never comeback

not partly the same? how about the same tom drum beat, and the organ riff very similar, and then jamming on the whole repetitve thing like floyd. also sounds a little early doors-ish, but arthur brown was way ahead of alice in this shock rock style anyways, and goes way beyond him too...much more imaginative...its not an 'act' with arthur...with alice it is.
the drum beat is the most similar, but it isnt quite the same. the organ has the same sound, but it's definitely not the same. and "jamming" isnt something one band came up with for one song and everyone is copying them.
and arthur brown...im not gonna go into the "way ahead and way beyond" with shocking people thing, because that's extremely vague, but he never had the voice or the presence and most importantly the songwriting or the lyrics alice had.
Yes - I've been on the lookout for the *rest* of this Black Juju sequence for a loooong time now (I say rest because only a portion is shown in Prime Cuts)
Try The Crazy World of Arthur Brown ... gets weirder than Alice too.

PROOF that good things can happen if you take the risk!!!
Just look at Cooper here, LOL!!!
This was one of the most talented bands ever, they also created DARK WAVE and DARK METAL with out knowing. Siouxsie named JUJU after this obviously!

The classic garage sounding insane and shocking Alice Cooper.
It's sad that he did hair metal for a few years in the end of the 80's.
juspertti 4 years ago
I love all of his albums and he needed to survive in the rock atmosphere of the time.

some hair metal was cool. anyway alice was pretty much the god of hair metal.

the song was inspired by set the controls for the heart of the sun. this is one of the greatest moments in rock n roll.

sounds like a ripoff of pink floyds "set the controls for the heart of the sun".

You're right! What a rip-off.
TuneInTurnOnDropOut 4 years ago
It's not a rip-off, just the drum beat sounds like it. this song is called "Black juju" by the way.
dissent88 3 years ago
sort of, but not really. i mean of all songs to call a rip off....there's a similarity but it's not even partly the same.
