You know, I originally thought you were a little conservative on your Season 3 intros, but I got to looking at it again, plus your opening sequences on your website, which I thought were cool, and I've grown to like it as much as your work on Seasons 1 & 2!
I like this! I think the basic idea has some merit, even though the show wasn't really executed that well after the 1st season or so. Reworking the show for a modern, serious audience could work, much as it did for Battlestar Galactica, with the right amount of care and quality. The work you've done here works great as a potential first step.
LOL it's great ... I have been doing the same kind of thing with a show called Lancer ... music... openings and remixes... Fox does not seem to think out of the box.... wish you luck... smiles... JVD
i do remember those retooled Star Trek episodes where they placed new generated spaceships and greatly improved sound and color, but I stil prefer the basic plastic and plywood. Whenever you remaster an old sci film, just enhance the color and audio and erase the "strings" and obvious mistakes, don't insert digital renderings>
That was impressive and I think the J2 worked because it kept the camp feel to it...the whole feel of Lost in Space is that it isn't meant to be a true representation of reality. It really was just a fun show and was about family as much as space creatures.
Several episodes on the dvds have bits missing and the cliffhanger to the intro of THE GOLDEN MAN is missing the start. Not a good dvd thing, it should be totally redone from masters tapes
@ridernotlook They do that with all the Lost in Space episodes. You ait for your facrite line and it never shows up, they just skip ahead. In the second season with the Green Lady when penny has to reset the astrogator, she is seen riding up from the elevator and then down without any of the dialog she has with dr, Smith. then the robot warns Smith, but that is often cut out of the scene.
If they were going to make more Lost In Space Episodes but with new actors and put it into mordern theme this intro would be epic for it i absoutly love the show was a classic
Nah. I think that it's probably not a project with Fox's time. The show lacked the quality writing, acting and directing to begin with, but it also doesn't have the large following that Star Trek has. I would have to say that I couldn't support it. Of course, who am I?
@MrMittendorf - Trek and several lame episodes too and they gave them a remastering. However, I agree w/you that Fox will likly not take up the project. I do have hight hopes for some the better episodes (mostly first season shows).
Indeed, nice job. I even liked the Jupiter 2 treatment. Not entirely sure where you're going with it though. I was a HUGE fan of this show back in the day, but unlike Star Trek it's somewhat dated in that the plots of the shows lack social consciousness in favor of the interpersonal relationship between Will, the Robot and Dr. Smith. The rest of the cast were mere pawns for those three to play off of which is what made the show. I HATED THE MOVIE TREATMENT.
Nice! The colors are vibrant. I was a kid when the show was on in the 60s and color TV had gained a foothold. So, the TV producers made it a point to use lots of bright colors in shows like this. This opener would have blew our minds!
Holy God! I NEVER knew that Irwin Allen was the creator of Lost in Space! I knew he did that disaster movie The Swarm, and many other films, but he also created this TV legend? KA-BLAAAM! Where have I been?
I was 6yrs old when I started watching the show on TV, and I though Penny (Angela Cartwright) was so cute! We first-graders wanted to date her!
@Halpin2006 LOL! The Master of Disaster, Irwin Allen, was the creator of Lost In Space, Land of the Giants, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (Film & TV Versions), and many more...

The term 'remastered' is valid and as described in the opening remarks of the video. Have you never heard of the Star Trek Remastered project? Yes, they did add some changes and for the most part, they were good ones.

These title sequences are good. They kind of have a 3rd Rock From the Sun vibe about them.

Thanks for the feedback; The J2 was intentionally not detailed to better match original animation feel.

But how is this any kind of improvement? It's just a pointless exercise in re-imagining the opening sequence.

Well done, but you do not have to spend 45 seconds explaining yourself. The slow crawl was also un-needed padding.
We want to see your work. If we want to read your credits we will hit pause. Get to YOUR work, which was very good , by the way.
