The bass player is called Harri Vainikka. It's true that in this video he bears a style similar to Pekka Pohjola in many ways. This recording is a real rarity, and the band never went on to record any albums. All of them did perform as Jukka Gustavson's backing band on his 1981 album "Toden toistoa" but the times were dysmal for prog/jazz-rock and I think they were split up by growing frustration. One key factor in the split-up was also Gustavson having turned into a Jehova's Witness.
Muistelen tämän ainutlaatuisen orkesterin soittaneen hienon keikan Oulussa Rattorissa about 1980.
There are so many things I lie about this video - where do I start? The music is good jazz/rock fusion. The video has some really cool tracking shots (dolly moves) the mix is good you can definitely hear everything the list goes on and on....are these guys still playing together some 31 years later? I'd like to know what became of them.
they have performed a few times under the name Jukka Gustavson & Hottoe, and also made a record called "Toinen maisema" (other landscape) in 2006 (ZenMaster/Rockadillo records). Google "toinen maisema" and use google translate if interested
The attack of the sound is close to Hammond in my ears. In general this piece makes one wonder if Gustavson should have stayed in Wigwam because this is imo in many ways close to atmosphere of Nuclear Nightclub
Why did we never heard about these guys over here in Norway? This is - for the time - really good!

@ilkkatapio Thanks, I did Google Toinnen maisema and used Google translate to learn more about the band. I'm glad they kept on making music.

I think he runs his Moog through the large model Echoplex that you can see on top of the Lowrey organ, left of the Moog

seems like this is the only source of their music, i cant seem to find anything else on them,
would you know where?

Jukka Gustavson sang & played keyboards on the 4 first Wigwam albums between 1969-1974. This group, Sahti, was active around 1979-1980.
makikoti47 3 years ago
is this wigwam? did they write anything more like this style??
samiegfunk1 3 years ago
No...it's not Wigwam. It's ex-wig-keyboardist Jukka Gustavson and his backing group "Sahti".
