@JustLikeRain1 I think Brian's case is very different from Noah's. For one, Brian couldn't even sleep with Lucinda. Also, Noah feels pressured into advancing his relationship with Maddie, but from his developing attraction to Luke and from his father's presence. Brain has no such external motivations.

No, but sexual attraction is. Platonic love is genderblind. Romantic love requires sexual attraction and therefore IS dependent on the gender/sex of the other person. This is why Noah and Luke can "love" Maddie but can't be "in love" with her...they can form deep emotional bonds with her, but they can't be sexually attracted to her.
Meanwhile, they can form BOTH an emotional bond and experience sexual attraction with each other, which is why they end up a couple :D

Why do they assume that Noah has to be either gay or straight? cant he be bi-sexual? Cause he is attracted to both sexes. But everyone either says hes gay or hes not. I find it weird how Noah cant be for both sexes

I find Luke hotter mostly because he's been on the show longer. If that makes sense. He's had a longer story, so I've gotten to know him better. I don't know that much about Noah's life before he came here, except that he was raised by a crazy guy.

They always do this in soap operas. If Dusty really thought the Colonel was the one that killed whatserface, why did he go to him and spill the beans. I mean really - he thinks the guy had killed before and he tips him off that he is onto him. Dusty almost deserves it.

Oh my GOD, their lives are so cracked up.. And even though I want Luke and Noah to work things out and for Maddie to be happy with someone far far away from here, I still feel it right to say to love isn't about gender.

No, but sexual attraction is. Platonic love is genderblind. Romantic love requires sexual attraction and therefore IS dependent on the gender/sex of the other person. This is why Noah and Luke can "love" Maddie but can't be "in love" with her...they can form deep emotional bonds with her, but they can't be sexually attracted to her.
Meanwhile, they can form BOTH an emotional bond and experience sexual attraction with each other, which is why they end up a couple :D
