Nkrumah was more in-tune with our people in Ghana than JJ Rawlings.
Rawlings was totally in-human, he brought total chaos in Ghana and didn't do anything to change the face of our country.

I am the fifth generation in africa, my father served under Nkrumah as a young pioneer as well, and declined a position to work for other parties considering there has been mega change in the principles of ruling considering how much devastation the people have gone through from generation to generation. Its true, during JJ regime a lot of violence and corruption has occurred, nevertheless i believe this is a situation that will happen through any president serving a reasonable long term.

This man should be appreciated and celebrated not because he made a coup, but because of his hard work his efforts towards democracy and prosperity for all Ghanaians. He never discriminated,never promoted himself in the army. He started the 4th republic and handed over peacefully...what again. Ghana became united under him and that's why he's one of the most respected leaders even though he started with a coup...we needed it at that time.

I am not surprised under the leadership of Rawlings, Ghana couldn't even managed to grow, because our children were sent home because of parents not paying their school fees, they wasn't enough hospitals to prove care for patients and of course, less off weren't given enough when it came to their daily needs.
