  • Why do I find you easier to understand than her, even when she's speaking in an American accent? Note: I'm American born and raised.

  • there are hundreds of different accents

  • HAHAHAHAHA SORRY MATE!!! but you guys do sound like her

  • Love!

  • Lol, nice vid mate, I grew up in Norfolk and lost my English accent just a few months after moving to Australia :P

  • When u say people drop the t's and g's do you mean than instead of saying BriTain, you would say Bri-ain?

Would you say ChaRlie or Chaa-lie?

  • I would love to be able to talk like Russell Bram, an Essex accent.

Anyway, I think she's trying to portray a "typical" Royal Family accent. Which I'm sure is also rubbish. I just like BRITISH better than English. Your words are a lot less brut. Yes?

  • that lady's accent is RUBBISH!!!!

  • I seriously laughed through this entire video. Your facial expressions are PRICELESS! :) Thanks for making my night, mister! :D

  • "Don't learn English from an American" Hilarious.

  • haha! love the video, but yeah in england you can live 50miles away and have a different accent, were i live you go to the other side of town and it's a different accent

  • I just want to learn a UK accent to learn it... but listening to all the different videos about the village lady...I hear the different accents...some drop the "t" some accents sound "thicker"...in the US "Northeners" take time to pronounce words for example fire...the Southerners draw out there words...so fire would be firrre (sound the r a little longer) and some places....forget it! Who knows what the hell there saying!

  • John "Soap" MacTavish!

  • Classic

  • great quality!!

  • I think She is a nut case mate.. ha ha ha...

  • Just wondering when you say "most people drop their t's, g's", I think you are wrong there. What do you mean most people? Most people in which part of Britain?

  • @HAZIDEAD Pretty much everywhere in England, depending on where you are, will depend on what's dropped - I live in East London/Essex, and have relatives dotted all over England and Scotland. The dropping of t's, l's and g's and replacing it with a "uh" sound are known as glottal stops, which are often used throughout the UK, is very common (i.e. war-uh = Water, Buh-uh = butter, potay-uh=potato, win-duh=window) - I don't know of many people who pronounce words phonetically unless they are at work

  • Thanks for this. I loved it.

  • that was incredible

  • shei sox xD

  • shei sox xD

  • Her American accent sounds more like an English accent than her 'English' accent. In fact if she tried to speak from her throat rather than through her nose (and changed nothing else) she'd be half way there. Also, If she went from 'twennee" to more of a "twendtee" or "twentee" sound, that would be better than "twentay". Less is more..

  • Also, nice vid, little typo there on my other comment, sorry.

  • Lol, you are like the 3rd person I've seen who's appalled of that chick it

  • LMFAO do more of these! iv subbed lol

  • 96 likes, 0 dislikes. Wow the most without a dislike.

  • hahah thanks, i'm trying to adapt an English accent but she just sounds like a sixth grader attempting to have an accent. Thanks for the extra help!

  • yes an ACTUAL BRITISH person not an american yankie who's talking bullsht!

  • OMG I'm almost embarrassed for this woman. I think you're right. She did study her accent from Mary Poppins. You're a funny kid too! Thanks.........................

  • You're very funny !

    And this lady has issues...

  • Mate you are a legend :)

  • Dude this is awesome and hilarious

  • lol i know that you guys dont really talk like this but sometimes we have to dramatize it for plays and stuff, you know?

  • lmao i wonder if she knows how bad she sounds?

im goin to her vids lol.

  • she talks like they did in 1800

  • Mar-reh's pah-teh's are lov-leh...LOL!!! That lady sounds hilarious...

  • It sounds like she just bought a copy of Billy Elliot and copied everyone from it!

  • Hell, man, I'm an amateur and my accent is better than hers. You got that right - she is rubbish.

  • LOLLOLLOL! we sound nothing like that lady:L!!!

  • i really enjoyed your videos :) oh man , this was so funny

  • ahahahahahaah this lady's got it all wrong she sounds retarded ahahaha where did she get that language from ahahahahaha

  • actually, she is quite hilarious.

  • I believe you.

    <3

  • "Mary's Parties are lovely" - That was nearly a Bolton accent. obviously not intentionally but Peter Kay would have been proud

  • Hahah don't listen to that woman! :D Great idea to do this video, you're so funny!

  • ha hilarious man

  • lmao, i'm ashamed to be american :[

  • lol the only place in the UK where this woman would be understood would be Leicester, and only chavs speak like that!

  • hahaha she sounds somewhere inbetween the queen and some one from yorkshire

  • Yeah, she's all wrong. I'm a Yank doing a British accent play, and I DO NOT do that with finally "e" sounds. I talk a lot more like YOU. It also helps that a friend's mother lives in England. He helps a lot. I do notice that you roll the "e" sound a bit on your tongue a bit, though. Our play takes place at Oxford College in the late 1900s, but I imagine that even THEN, people didn't sound that stiff!!!

  • where did she do her research?? wow

  • nooo she wasnt in a northen accent at all HAHA i have a northen english accent :)

  • you are fucking hilarious!!

  • sadly =))

  • She is eaven more funny than my mates who can bearly speak english xD

  • As you state there is not a big difference between the accents.

I would say british accents sound more Vowels ish where american accents sound more consonant ish.

You also said just watch videos of people speaking normally and pick up on them. That is actually great advice for anyone.

    Anyway great video. LOL

  • "Everybody got lovely apples" That doesn't even make sense. This cracked us up!!!

  • hahahaha

  • sadly lol

  • wow this is hilarious...he makes the woman looks ridiculous.he's rite though dont learn how to speak with a British accent from an American...completely rubbish lol

  • DUDE> i love your vids....that lady is SOOOO horrible lol...not even close lol its so funny to hear her i just laughhhh xDD

  • im american and im practicing my british accent

  • I'm not British, but me and my friend are trying to practice our British accents for drama, and I found this lady's video, and laughed my head off!

  • This guy is absolutely right! I'm British (from the south) and this woman's accent is just absurd!

Under no circumstances should you copy her!

Well done, mate, for exposing this silly tart!

  • hahaha.learned a lot bro. thanks!

  • im from northan england, from wakefield west yorkshire which is next to leeds. and we talk just about the same with tiny diff accent

  • lol nice

  • One of the best videos Ive seen in a while. Keep it up bruv.

  • you are a crack up lol I was laughing too she is a fool lol

  • hahahaha

i was laughing while you were.

    what a silly lady.

  • hahaha

  • I laughed so hard while watching this! Awesome XX

  • my second comment was in reply to proff327

  • She should simply rename her videos to "How to pretend you're British when visiting the US" - et voilà, her "lessons" are a real help!

  • why is this American women trying to teach people how we speak when she doesn't represent us.. she needs to show ppl how Americans speak and thats it. SIGH SIGH SIGH

  • respect!! do more youe funny XP

  • XD she is terrible.

  • My god she's really bad.

  • lol XD im american and even i know that thats horribly wrong..sounds like one of those teachers you see in a movie based in the....like...60's or something XD

  • 'shez very pretteh' XD Well done Mr Man.

  • hahah dude this is hilarious. the way you actually make fun of her. shes practically adding éh' at the back of every word. utter rubbish

  • For the love of god you mother effin brits, this accent DOES NOT represent all of england, much like her AMERICAN (yea thats right i said American) DO NOT represent all american accents. Please think before you post to save your self some dignity.

  • @proff325

The accent she uses doesn't represent anywhere in Britain as far as I'm aware :/ If I met someone talking like that I think I'd be very confused :P

  • Well, the problem is that she says she's teaching you RP ("BBC English"), but she isn't. I think the best advice you can give to someone who wants to learn a British accent is what Black StoneNugget said: learn it from a British person.

(The second best would probably be to stick with your own accent: you'll feel a lot more comfortable and people won't think your trying to mock their way of speaking).

  • "sadly" HAHA!

    go you! :)

  • that woman is awful!!

thankyou for posting this video, hopefully americans will realise how wrong she is

  • good u had your hair cut ;)

    she just woke up ;)

  • She is speaking with a Yorkshire accent WTF that is hardly representative!

  • I pretty much love this video. :) It made my day. :) I'm deff subscribing. That's amazing. I'm from America. and I know you guys don't talk like that. That's ridiclious. Was that woman high?

  • Okay like I said in another video. I'm American and I saw those video and I thought something didn't sound right. For the most part, for theater, I can do the British accent but it doesn't sound that bad like her. Never learn an accent that doesn't belong to someone!

THANK YOU for posting this. :D

  • sadly, sad LE.

    ....sadly.

lmfao this video amused me a little more than it should have. Keep them coming :)

  • As a man who has spent two years in Liverpool and the rest of his life in Dallas, the three main words that change are laboratory, aluminum, and garage. Even in these, I've heard some say it differently.

  • lol that vid makes me laugh so much. why the hell is she doing a really strong northern accent, i expected shed do the posh southern one!

    hungry - HUNGREH

  • You're quite alright .

    xxx
